      You really don't understand what Freedom of speech means.  At all.

      Freedom of speech is the right to express any opinion without censorship or restraint.  By that definition, having "merit" based posting would limit freedom of speech, but freedom of speech on a hockey forum isn't all that important.  I'm against it as it creates unnecessary friction with new members and can cause aversion.
