They're both bad, but the electronic ads are fixable. There is no situation where jersey ads will ever be acceptable.
-
Exactly. I am fairly sure you and I are not alone.
-
The business case would be to pay to keep the jerseys intact, and then bombard with advertising elsewhere stating that fact. "The integrity of our jerseys is brought to you by TD" is a pretty powerful message. So is choosing to contribute towards desecrating an NHL uniform. One move will gain my business; the other will result in doing everything in my power to prevent me giving a dime. Bottom line is TD should be ashamed of themselves for what they've done to the franchise and their fans with these abominations.
-
Again, there's a business case to be made for paying to prevent these abominations, and making it public they are doing so. You don't think fans would be grateful to someone who stepped up and prevented the franchise from being disgraced with these ads? You're really underestimating how sickening these are to anyone who actually loves the game; this is going to generate TD negative publicity for disrespecting the sport to this degree. Whoever thought this was a good idea should have been fired.

The goodwill they would generate, especially if they paid to have the Johns remind the fans of the fact, would be off the charts. Sponsors are going to lose a lot of customers as these ads are completely unacceptable to anyone who has any respect for the sport. There's a business case for not enraging the group you are trying to reach.

It would certainly make a statement and might actually gain business, as opposed to alienating fans by contributing towards these abominations. Our only recourse as fans is to hit these parasites in the wallet where it hurts them.
-
I really wish a company would pay the price and then not put anything on and say why. They'd get my business, as opposed to be every last company desecrating the jerseys who will never get a dime from me.
-
Disgusting. The Aquilinis should be an ashamed of them for disgracing the sport with these abominations, and TD will never get a penny of my business for doing this to the franchise. I'll never buy another jersey.

That's enough for the press box, since clearly he's not figuring it out on his own. Part of being a leader is holding yourself accountable, which he's not doing.
-
I'd take him if Poolman can't come back. Rathbone realistically isn't ready and needs to go back to Abbotsford instead of sitting in the press box.

[Signing] Panthers sign Eric Staal

At least they're bringing in actual veteran leadership with this move, which they need now that they have a locker room cancer like the turtle. -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Minnesota Wild | Oct. 20, 2022

There's a lot of worse Dmen making more money: Rielly, Nurse, Jones for starters. -
Green couldn't even set the lineup correctly, engaged in rampant nepotism through both gifting AHL trash roster spots and allowing an unqualified clown to sabotage the D when he had Shaw available, and wasn't even man enough to take ownership of not having the team prepared. While the players might be keeping their mouths shut, it's pretty clear that Green has some serious character issues in addition to being one of the worst coaches in the history of the sport. No one in their right mind has any respect for that imbecile, and we can only hope that our players continue to recover from the damage he did to the organization.
-
I'd agree for most coaches but Green's combination of incompetence and lack of professionalism really is something that needs to be taken into account, as it's on the level of Keenan. It's possibly to overcome, but when you allow a dirtbag like Green to sabotage the team for years, it creates a toxic culture that stunts growth.
-
You're really underestimating the psychological damage that can be done when the head coach is a locker room cancer, especially to young players. Allowing him to pull the BS he did for as long as he did is definitely going to cause some issues, and a guy like Hoglander now has to unlearn everything that baboon taught him.

another issue in the dressing room?
King Heffy replied to PetterssonOrPeterson's topic in Canucks Talk
Entirely possible the problem is Yeo given his track record. -
The damage he caused may be permanent with some guys. It's not a good thing to start your career under an an unqualified clown who refuses to conduct himself like a professional. He's probably permanently stunted the growth of a few guys with his misconduct both in Vancouver and in Utica. This isn't a soft player, even with the dive.
