  1. I think I'd rather trade Garland strictly due to the cap situation. You can bring in a pretty decent D for that salary, and he's a good enough player that it won't need a major sweetener.
  2. I'm assuming Hoglander would be compared to Kravstov, as suggested by a previous poster. Regardless, I'd rather give Juulsen or Woo a shot before taking on a known defensive liability. If we make a trade, it needs to be for a shutdown guy.
  3. Well we do have a depleted pool due to having so few 1st and 2nd rounders recently, but that's even more reason to not give up our few good prospects for trash.
  4. So you're willing to give up assets for a guy with attitude issues and a defenceman who can't play defence?
  5. I think you can make an argument for Wrigley and Fenway as well simply for the tradition.
  6. The minus despite all those points show that he clearly has no idea how to actually play defence, and doesn't care enough to learn. I am very glad that bum is handicapping the Leafs instead of us.
  7. Not until he learns how to play defence. The way he plays in his own zone is nowhere close to good enough for him to belong in the NHL. He'd struggle to make the team in Abbotsford.
  8. Really depends as to how much of a defensive liability one is willing to tolerate. As far as I'm concerned, his play in his own zone is not acceptable regardless of offensive output. Allowing him to play like complete trash defensively creates a culture where that kind of play is acceptable, which is just as much of a problem as his outright refusal to stop being a liability. Allowing that pylon to play is a major reason why Toronto has zero chance of winning a playoff round. He has zero place on an actual NHL team and is lucky Toronto has an unqualified moron as the GM who doesn't care whether or not the defencemen can actually play any defence. Rielly probably could have turned out ok if he'd had a coach that had the balls to tell him that he won't play a shift until he makes a commitment to defence. It's probably too late now.
  9. Kind of sad that their spare part is Edmonton's second best blueliner.
  10. I'd want to be absolutely sure that OEL, Hughes, or Chychrun could play the right side with absolutely no dropoff in play. I'm open to going all-in, and I like Chychrun; I just question the fit.
  11. I wonder if any Moose blueliners have requested a trade to save their careers from Baumgartner.  Wouldn't mind Kovacevic.

I still can't believe they're allowing that idiot anywhere near their prospects.

@King Heffy Baumgartner might not be an NHL coach, but it's probable that he can be a decent one at a lower level.

@Dazzlehe's shown little sign that he can.  He simply lacks the brain capacity to implement any kind of effective system.  He's already failed in Utica, here, and disgraced his country with his gross incompetence.  If I'm an agent for a Dman in Winnipeg's system, I want my guy to get away from him ASAP.

  12. I'd want Hoglander to get a shot to fill Garland's spot in the lineup and see what he can do in his first training camp under NHL coaches.
  13. It was better but when the team struggled they still slipped into some of the bad habits Baumgartner had taught them. I'm hoping that idiot didn't do permanent damage, but we should be better with a full camp under qualified coaches. I'm still not sure how that clown was allowed to disgrace the country twice after he clearly proved he is too stupid to coach the game at any level. It could be possible to make do with minor tweaks and a coach with a functioning brain instead of an incontinent baboon.
  14. Defensive defencemen are really underappreciated on here.
  15. Development time for defencemen is going to be a problem there. By the time a guy drafted in that spot is ready, guys like Miller will be starting to slow down. I think a trade is the only realistic option to get a guy who will fit in with the window we have.
  16. I love seeing jerseys like that though. My favourite was the Kesler #20's.
  17. Kind of expected considering how easily he goes down.
  18. I think Boudreau likely deserves some of the credit for making the rink a fun place to come to again.
  19. I think a lot of people just wanted it resolved one way or the other, myself included.
  20. I suspect they were waiting to see what happened with Miller before they got that done. I wouldn't be surprised to see it done before camp.
  21. It's a small discount but I'd still argue 8.5x8 would be market value considering taxes.
  22. And this was after a rumour of a big cap increase being likely in the near future. I'm happy with this.
  23. Show me a recent comparable who got less. This is market value or even a slight discount.
