[Signing] Wild sign Sam Steel

Given Guerin's conduct in Pittsburgh, I doubt that's a dealbreaker for him. -
[Signing] Sharks re-sign Jonah Gadjovich

So Petan, Chiasson, and Hunt? Chiasson was useless and got on a little hot streak, while Petan and Hunt were worse than useless and were both complete disgraces to the franchise every time they set foot on the ice. All three of them proved that there is no excuse for allowing any of them to play a single second at the NHL level, even in an emergency. Allowing Green to cause this kind of damage to both the franchise and to the young players is unforgivable. -

So you actually think Green's misconduct was acceptable? The guy clearly couldn't say the lineup correctly and multiple players did have confidence issues last year. It's entirely reasonable to hold that clown accountable for his gifting of roster spots to AHL trash. Benning is also to blame for allowing that imbecile to pull the BS he did last year in camp. -

He earned a job in camp and Green chose to gift AHL trash a job instead, after benching him the previous year for bringing some toughness. Green's complete lack of professionalism destroyed the confidence of a lot of guys, including Gadjovich. You are really underestimating what a bad coach can do to a young player. -

Green did a real number on this kid. Think he'll have a better year coming up now that he's had a full season of actual NHL coaching, but some of the damage is likely permanent. -
I really wanted Conor Timmins before the Avs traded him to Arizona.
-
Dobson is far better defensively. I don't care how many points a guy puts up if he plays like Bouchard in his own zone.
-
All three of those guys are massive upgrades over Bouchard and belong in the NHL, even if they shouldn't be top 4. Even Poolman is better. We clearly have different methods for evaluation that aren't going to match. Regardless, Edmonton is in severe trouble as long as they ice a right side with zero legit NHLers.
-
Poor hockey sense, bad positioning, slow, struggles to pivot, doesn't use his size well, gets caught pinching too often.
-
And I'm saying it's not possible to measure defensive ability statistically. Based on actual play, Bouchard would struggle to make the second pairing in Abbotsford and would likely see press box time until he made the commitment to stop hurting the team in his own zone. There is zero room on the Canucks for a defenceman who can't play defence, and Bouchard sure as hell wouldn't be welcome here. You might be willing to overlook the defensive issues, but I'm not. We'll have to agree to disagree.
-
I've seen Bouchard play at every level throughout his career. He played on a stacked Knights team and was a defensive liability there, and he hasn't gotten better since. The eye test is by far the best means to evaluate defencemen, and Bouchard has been worse than useless. Points are not an appropriate metric to use as an excuse for a defenceman who has demonstrated a complete inability to play any defence. I'm very grateful that we will get to play against the pylon frequently going forward.
-
So you consider playing like complete trash in one's own zone to be acceptable? Bouchard may be putting up points, but he's complete liability out there. At least Lekkerimaki earned his spot on the team; Bouchard was floating all through camp and then chose to not even attempt to play any defence. Let's see how our blueline does with a full year without Baumgartner before declaring it to be comparable to Edmonton's dumpster fire. Bouchard makes Pouliot look like a shutdown guy in comparison. There's no excuse for letting a guy that bad in his own zone play a single shift at the NHL level.
-
He'd proven himself to be able to score. There is nothing to suggest that Bouchard is capable of playing defence or even wants to learn.
-
Bouchard is soft, slow, stupid, and selfish. He disgraced his country with his atrocious play in his own zone at the WJHC and he hasn't gotten any better since. A defenceman who can't play defence simply is not welcome here.
-
Not a single one of their right D are capable of playing even remotely acceptable D. Woo is a better player than any of their AHL trash. I don't care how many points they put up, their defence is simply not good enough for the NHL.
-
Our D is light years away from Edmonton, who have zero actual NHLers over Nurse. We have RHD who will be healthy scratches who are better than any of the pylons the Oilers can throw out there. Hughes, OEL, and Myers are all better than Nurse and don't have the character issues of that gutless coward. Nurse would make our 3rd pairing, but the rest of the Edmonton blueline. would struggle to get icetime in Abbotsford. Edmonton's D this year is in the running for the worst all-time in the history of the league.

[Signing] Flames sign Nazem Kadri

Pittsburgh also is obviously better. -
Wow. To the left of the goalie, I see one fan gazing at the ceiling, one looking the opposite direction of the play, and one scratching his armpit in a diagonal line.

[Signing] Golden Knights sign Phil Kessel
King Heffy replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Vegas has an actual NHL quality team and doesn't have a locker room cancer wearing the C. Kessel is a nice guy but he's not the type to be a leader who can bring about the kind of culture change that Edmonton needs. -

The weight issue is also possibly a side effect of his cancer treatment. Phil's a class act for his sense of humour about it though. -
Hard to tell, has anyone seen what that gutless flopper looks like upright?

Another glorified roster update with tons of glitches and a defensive AI that looks like it's coached by Nolan Baumgartner. Get 2k back to at least give these parasites some competition.

Gave you the benefit of the doubt for your little outburst in the other thread. Never said it's against the rules, so a swing and a miss there. Do you have anything of actual use to say? -

And you seem to love commenting on individual posters instead of the topic at hand. Even children can usually refrain from doing this.
