  1. Sounds like a good add. Hoping he works well with Clark so there's some consistency.
  2. I remember seeing Garland getting his bell rung last year and yet not evaluated at all, and that wasn't the first time. I'm not a doctor, but I would much rather err on the side of player safety. Time will tell, but the staff definitely needed an overhaul.
  3. He'd look like a Selke candidate compared to McDiver. Doubt he'd seriously want to play in Canada again after his experience with the Toronto media, and I can't blame him. One of my favorite personalities in the game so I hope he doesn't go to that classless organization.
  4. Moving a team out west would make operating costs skyrocket. I'd much prefer buying the team if the investment is as reasonable as you're suggesting. It seems a weird area to try to cut corners.
  5. Turtling, moaning that his teammates are sick of him disgracing the sport, and taking a ton of selfish penalties in the playoffs. No one wants a gutless coward as a teammate, and no respectable team is going to tolerate that worthless waste of oxygen.
  6. I wonder how much the vaccination requirements are impacting the ability to make a move. Realistically they'd have to check for any player who hasn't been scheduled to come to Toronto.
  7. I fail to see the downside other than the cost. It also provides a spot to assign new coaches so you don't get a repeat of a guy like Baumgartner retiring, getting a chance as an assistant, and causing a ton of damage to the prospects. Having our own ECHL team to give staff an opportunity is much less risky.
  8. https://www.flohockey.tv/articles/7205789-five-echl-players-who-made-the-jump-to-the-nhl Mostly goalies, but it's worth having the affiliate.
  9. Depends if you're going off their whole careers or just the level of ability that season. I'm more interested in the ability at the time: Olerud was a year away from his breakout season; I'd take Vladdy and his power Alomar for sure Bichette, but it's close Chapman by a hair. Gruber had a good career, but he was realistically done at this point. Maldonado and Gurriel I have tied. White over Springer Carter over Hernandez Winfield over the DH Catching trio over Borders 4 positions where the 92 team is better, 3 where 2022 is better, 2 where it's tied.
  10. I'd love him back but I would be very surprised.
  11. 12. There's something to be said for giving the kid a fresh start. He was set up to fail here.
  13. I wasn't hopeful he could if Toronto chose to play AHL trash instead. It seems that the Leafs don't even care whether or not their pylons can play defence though.
  14. Overpaid, but might be movable at the deadline with retention.
  15. Myers, Dermott, and most of the Abbotsford team are far better than Rielly, Sandon, and Liljegren, none of whom are capable of playing any defence whatsoever.
  16. The only NHL quality D on Toronto are Muzzin, Brodie, Benn, and Giordano
  17. Pretty easy to see Pat Quinn's influence on Burkie. Liked him as a GM and have a ton of respect for him as a man. Not many execs I'd rather have a beer with.
  18. Toronto and Edmonton are both far worse. At least we have actual NHLers.
  19. Main difference is replacing Green and Baumgartner with actual coaches. Benning absolutely needed to be fired for subjecting our players to that level of incompetence.
  20. Only reason to trade Horvat is if we're also trading Miller and doing a full rebuild, or if he informs the team he's going to explore his options as a UFA.
