  1. https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/brad-marchand-deletes-twitter-account-verification-fee-boston-bruins-stanley-cup-playoffs-nhl/ I don't like the guy, but hope more do the same.
  2. Sadly they're limiting it to two stands though. I think I'll continue doing the Costco stop before in order to avoid that lineup. Happy I'll be able to catch more games with the afternoon start times; the new ownership has done a great job so far.
  3. Going off personal experiences at WJHC's in multiple countries. Any time a situation was about to get out of hand, the Russians were involved. The tension is now orders of magnitude higher and alcohol will be a factor. Doesn't matter if a Canadian, Czech, or Russian fan starts it once things really get going.
  4. Not too mention their fans can't handle themselves even under normal circumstances when they travel to these tournaments. The host city doesn't deserve the havoc that would occur.
  5. Good. As much as I love the WJHC, I personally would have given the tournament a miss if the IIHF got it wrong.
  6. How would you compensate defensive specialists fairly?
  7. I'd support disqualifying him for that, especially after he openly defended the child molester loving management. Hopefully he's in a ton of pain and karma is doing its thing.
  8. Still better than dead cap for 8 years. Anyone even suggesting long-term dead cap as an option is not qualified to work in hockey ops in any capacity. Let's not allow Rutherford to do more permanent damage to the franchise.
  9. The right thing is to fire any member of the management team who is stupid enough to think this is a good idea.
  10. The owner won't cut the cheque because you don't get rich without being able to understand long term financial planning and basic math.
  11. I'm going to try to give an example so those who think crippling the club in the future is a good idea can understand: Let's say you have an older car that's overall kind of a pain to deal with, but mechanically sound. You have the following options given your financial means: 1. Wait 4 years, save money and live within your means to buy your dream car. 2. Wait 2 years to finance a new, reliable car. 3. Use whatever you have now and get a payday loan to get another beater, and then repeat the process once it's time for a new one. An OEL buyout is the equivalent of the third option.
  12. These are the type of people funding their vacation on credit cards and wondering why they're always broke.
  13. Any GM who even considers this should be fired on the spot. I want the management group gone, but doing something this stupid would cause irreparable damage.
  14. And he was absolutely dreadful in the tournament. He'd be #1 on my do not draft list.
  15. Reinbacher is good; Sandin-Pellikka is an absolute trainwreck in his own zone and is incredibly unlikely to ever learn how to play defence at a level that will be acceptable to an NHL team.
  16. Sadly, he is probably stupid enough to take that pylon.
  17. Exactly. A GM would have to be a complete and utter moron to even consider that as a possibility. Even Benning isn't THAT stupid.
  18. And then the Canucks are crippled for 8 years if management is stupid enough to think this is a good idea. Sadly, they likely are.
  19. Paul's kid? He was a pretty solid pitcher in his day.
  20. Chicago could be picking up multiple firsts from other teams to take on that kind of cap.
  21. I'd probably have them on ignore to avoid violating the board rules against personal attacks on other members. Regarding a friend or member of my family, I would cut off all contact.
