  1. Gardiner is absolute trash in his own zone. Signing a defenseman who can't play defense does nothing to improve this team and creates a headache for Green regarding holding the rest of the team accountable. If Babcock can't teach Gardiner to play like an NHLer in his own zone, what are our chances of improving his defensive play to an acceptable level? Edler-Tanev Hughes-Schenn Hutton-Stecher All 6 of these guys are better than a soft, slow, and stupid defensive liability. Let that pylon be someone else's problem.
  2. Always nice to hear Bob Cole work a game.  Absolute legend and a consummate professional.  The voice of HNIC for multiple generations of fans.

They didn't let him work last year, so doubt it.  Instead, we get dirtbags like Randorf desecrating a national institution with their complete lack of professionalism.

  3. Because it does beter in Europe. We get the WJHC most years for the same reason.
  4. Would be a pretty good fit with him to play on a young team with a spot ready for him.
  5. No different than taking Russians. It's a risk but that's why you interview the players before the draft and get an idea of who they are as people.
  6. Not too surprised. Carolina has a lot of depth on defense still, and is in a small market with a bad owner/team. Similar to Calgary, who has a loaded defense and plays in an absolute cesspool of a city. Why not finish up school and get to choose a good fit in his position?
  7. And game 6. The biggest problem with AV was his insistence on letting useless garbage like Ebbett stink up the joint on a nightly basis, and benching Ballard to the point his confidence was destroyed.
  8. Bottom line is he doesn't care if the team wins or loses. He simply is too cheap to even attempt to ice an NHL quality franchise, and is lucky a Sens fan was stupid enough to prolong his pathetic excuse for a life. The problems in Ottawa start with the worthless bum in the owner's box. The guy even has the audacity to complain publicly about the fans who want a real owner in place. Do you think the NHL would even allow him to move the franchise, or would one of the conditions of the move to be finding a more suitable owner such as Boxcar Pete?
  9. Still don't have any respect for this gutless hypocrite. This is the example he's setting for their youth as a so-called "leader".
  10. Also saw little to no adjustments when the strategy wasn't working. Bouchard should have been stapled to the bench after the second game. Regardless of who else had input on the roster, he absolutely had some say and deserves his share of the blame. I can't blame Benning at all if he wants to get Woo away from Hunter.
  11. Would probably be for the same reason where they didn't trust the junior club to provide adequate coaching.
  12. Matthews went by choice though. If that's what Woo wants to do, fine.
  13. You have to buy a decent router and put the crappy combo one in bridge mode.
  14. Then the Saddledome and Rogers Place would both be empty.
  15. Shaw has no cap for their faster plans. If you're otherwise happy, calling them and quoting a competitor's price got me an even better rate.
  16. Maybe Benning wants to put some pressure on the Warriors to either move him or lose him for nothing, so at least he gets better coaching. I don't want Tim Hunter near any of our prospects after he disgraced the country with his stupid coaching decisions in the WJHC. I don't see putting him in a foreign country where he doesn't speak the language as beneficial for his development though.
  17. Loaning the players for the world juniors benefits the NHL team, the player, the IIHF, and the national team.
  18. He was good enough to play in the WJHC this year but wheover had the final call for lineup selection on D was incompetent. Hopefully he can do what Timmins did in Buffalo; you will never win without a couple D like him. Let him excel in junior with lots of minutes.
  19. Yeah more towards Gruden's chances of winning a SB. Home field advantage in the playoff is crucial and a weekend in Vegas to see your team in a playoff game is a big draw. Happy you guys are keeping your team though; fans willing to brave that terrible weather to watch a bad football team have my uptmost respect.
  20. Home field advantage might work out poorly though. Bigger draw for visiting fans due to the shorter season. Wouldn't be surprised to see playoff games there with an atmosphere similar to a neutral site.
  21. SF is going to do what Cleveland did IMO. About a year away from playoffs but building a nice group. Brown could do a lot worse.
