It's funny as I see it. It wasn't that long ago the franchise was devoid of prospects, now we're sort of getting a little picky
-
Funny thing about Kuzmenko is he's actually a plus player unlike JT & BB who are minus players and yet never miss a shift

Funny thing with kuzmenk i he's a plus player, unlike JT or BB who are minus 7 annd 16 respectively and yet never miss a shift. Maybe kuzmenko is helped by playing with EP. who's a plus 16

Darfting or FA's. Kuzmenk was the equialent to a top 5 pick IMO. Haroke, a later 1st round of a early second round. The fact is the odds are in your favour with FA's or a top 5 pick of an 18 year old. The Isle pick would be a 17th O/A pick what would we have found at that spot. I doubt it would be a NHL ready player. The key word is Pro scouting staff

Vancouver is home and Canucks players like it — a lot

Nothing to add. I moved here because I like the place but I wouldn't be so bold as to suggest every one likes it. There are drawbacks but folks are seemingly intimidated to discuss. From my perspective in a career that's short in time I'd go for where I could net out the most in case of injury of declining skills -

Vancouver is a great location for sure and beautiful but I'm not sure how many players when they retire opt for Vcr, apart from the Sedins. Quite a few in Kelowna/Vernon area I'm lead to believe. Strangely enough, in my opinion, a lot seem to settle in St L.. Right now between tent cities and street people openly doing drugs along with that article today showing rats running wild in the back steets, some of the shine is getting pretty thin. Politicians who do nothing about these problems but flap their lips doesn't hold hope for the future. IMO -

He has innate skills and skates very well. Imagine a year ago he was a player on the rise. So now he's getting competition. Both hm/his agent/ the club are at a cross road. I'm sure others might wish to take a look

Players and coaches play to win any thing less is a bad example. I get your point but the likelihood to draft below 8-10 is slim so is that a major difference, littel to gain and a lot to give up IMO
-
Well correct me if I'm wrong but setting up a winning system, enjoying success, mean a fall in the draft order

Well for a starter Kuzmenko would like to buy a house here but rules disqualify him, taxes are high and in a limited career that counts. This is not about a view of the Lions but about dollar and cents. As we know taxes in some US cities is extremely low giving them a big advantage. You might remember hockey players are not in 9 -5 jobs they're away from the beauties of Vancouver likely for 50% of the season -
There's different perspective to the question. Tocchet is undoutly try to set the team up for success next season, that's his job. His system has to be imprinted on all the players hard drive. Drafting on the other hand is looking to the future. If we were a well estabilshed team and roster we could afford to spend time developing but we are neither. A pick at around 10th I doubt will bring an NHL ready player and it's a gamble. If we were picking in the top 5 the answer would likely be obvious, we're not

Tocchet made an interesting observation recently, "I'd take hockey IQ over skill"

Apparently there was strong competition for both Hirose and McWard, they may not be heading direct to the NHL but I belieeve they're not far off... and the depth is certainly looking better. I'm anxious to see what Johansson brings at the summer camp
-
Regardless of which choice we make we will draft a player not ready for the NHL. I'm confident Vcr will not move up in the lottery and will select at the 10th position +/- a pick.Proably a good player but not a impact player. I'm resigned to it

He had NO need to make those type of comments, none!! he chose to do that so it's on him now, not the fans. I look forward to seeing his return to Rogers next season I'm confident he'll get a fitting responce from the fans. He had a good reputation and he chose to throw it out. You can clearly see why JR/PA moved him
-
He had no needs to add the comments he did, showed his class right there. I've heard a couple of players saying how it's a pleasure once again to come to the rink and now we know why. It's also clear why JR/PA decided to keep Miller and get rid of Horvat, fans it's a new era, better to have a Miller and Kuzmenko that a disgruntled Horvat Well I'm sure many fans will be waiting for his return next season to give him a warm Vcr welcome ...yeah right. I know I'll be there enjoying every moment

What did you think of McWard, I'm not expecting much offense but he didn't look out of place I beieve he's 6'2"/200 I'd like to think there's a place on the roster for his style. I alway's enjoyed seeing Tryamkin step up into an opponent he made an imprint on a lot of Left winger.... pass it off before this behemoth levels you LOL

Ah, I get it your view is predicated on offensive stats. There's more to hockey than that my friend. Sadly finding defensive D'men is becoming more and more difficult for that very reason, too many scout with stats and rarely boost a defensive D'man such as Harold Sneptz et al

EP is a beaut, even though hitting is not part of his game he's following the coaches directions, finsh your check. You don't have to kill the guy simply take him out the play. so he has to restart from a stopped position

What did mildly surpise me was when Athanasiou retrurned no one give him a little more "attention"
