The Rough Tough Canucks of 1994 Stanley Cup Finals

True, but man did he make a lot of errors in his own end. None the less he'd be great in this current line up I liked him a lot. Tough as nails and used it, just ask Deadmarsh -
Yeah a quality program. I wasn't sure if it was still running

In minor hockey I frequntly encouraged players to playing lacross in the summer. Nothing short of murder is called cross check in a part of the game so also is taking abeating and walking away
-
IMO the NCAA is the best place for the kid to be at. Man do they work these kids hard on the ice/gym 6 days a week with quality coaching and getting used to the smaller ice and mostly older players

What no Ohlund... shocked -
After been given the finger by the Canucks He may well choose not to retire in a Vcr uniform. Thats was I'm sure tough on the guy especially as he tured out to be better than his fill in OEL

My responce is Raty = Fan Speculation. How soon we forget earlier high first round picks that frankly S*cked I repeat earlier 1st round picks. Raty was a 2nd round pick. ie a lot of teams passed on Raty, some teams passed on him twice! I'm content to let him cook in the AHL for a couple of years before making wild speculation. I'm betting many posters have never actually seen him play ( I haven't ) I posted again and again about Juolevi inadequencies ( he couldn't pivot left ) and posters told me I was full of it, well don't make the same mistake with Raty. The best we can do is keep our fingers crossed. He'll be given better chnaces than may prospect because managemnt chose him in a trade, it's to their benefit
-
why would any one care about Sasson age, the club simply needs a quality 3rd line centre.... period if Sasson can do the job great heck if Raty can do the job th same ..... good, Im not hung up on their respetive age. Ditto Rathbone or Hirote
-
I just wanted to know a few facts such as which areas he excelled in. Sure He's still young abd fingers crossed he'll woork out but this excuse he's only 20, there''s tons of 20 yar old out there, we hve a few ourselves but I don't see fans going on and on about them. Right now I suspect Sasson is further ahead as a centre ?

I keep hearing Raty this Raty that but my question is why does a 2nd round pick earn or warrant so much attention. What's special about this kid. It sounds mostly like people jumping on the band wagon but who started it and if he's that good why would the NYI trade him. I'm curious
-
There's the difference, he's not a one man band which was the flaw of the last administartion

An assesmeent of Podkolzin Canucks’ Vasily Podkolzin Needs to Show Progress in 2023-24 (msn.com)

Man you just have to look at the guys face he was never in shape. His future career depends on him loosing 15+lbs. He looks like he has baby fat and depending on playingin the Beaut league he has to get down to serious work out. I recall the Sedins thought playing soccer in the summer was adequate and later realized their error. Whne they put in the time is when they started to get rewards. If BB is looking to extend his career this should be the year to do it
-
The question I ponder is why didn't they buy out Meyers. It's quick, little residual and you get the full $6 mll or close to it, better financially of course you the have OEL sitting in the press box eating popcorn, but who knows maybe he might be traded with Vcr taking half or more of his salary. I assume there is a good reason I just don't know what it is
-
And that is likely the reason JB will not find another GM job. What he did by trading for OELI sure was nticed throughout the league
-
When JB made the tradewhich includedOEL I stated he's Ericksson Mk2 and we'd regret it. As for Capamanement JB fired one of the best Lawrence Gilman

I believe Vcr were aware of the need for toughness prior to 2011 play-offs. They had players such as Lapierre. Weise, Bieska, Burrows, Kesler. Unfortunately Vcr lost Hamhuis after he tried to hip check Lucic, then Mr Betteman ( prompted by Mr Jacobs ) had Rome suspended for a record number of game, the rest of the series. Erhoff(and Kesler played with seperated shoulder ) Edler had his hand broken but had to play it through. Plus Tim Thomas outplayed Luongo mainly because Luongo couldn't resist at little extra fun at his home. Often in soccer management they put teams in hotels to keep check on them, which would have benefited Luongo. I remember during a stay in Chile ( stricktly on bisiness ) the visiting foorball teams stayed in the same hotel as I stayed and I used to get a laugh. The players all had to have their room keys attached to the outside of their doors ie no one was going any where. The coach checked frequently walking up nd down the hall way, checking the keys. a strict curfew -
Didn't Brad Richards have some socila problems, sniffing for instance. I hope he has solved his problem but had a big contract and a big personel issue
-
True, the recent signing are mostly fillers for prospects they believe will come through. I recall JR let slip in an intrview " we have some good pieces comng through" So they must believe and have a plan already constructed of when and who will be stepping up. At the end of this coming season they have 13 either RFA or UFA So they're making do this coming season but the major change comes in the season 24/25. If prospect don't show enough improvement they can always resign Cole and Blueger. But mostly it's just a waiting game .... and I suspect either during the season or at the TDL there will be trades
