  1. Vcr can't always be responding they need to be the aggressor occasionally. It doesn't need to be a fight just in your face hockey
  2. If you listen to Ray carefully you usually learn some thing. He's technical sound and atuned to the vagaries of the NHL life. I'm glad he's out spoken other wise we would just be getting mor media waffle. I like the occassional piece of truth being thrown in, good or bad
  3. Demko has a further 3 years on his quite reasonable contract. Silvos is a RFA in 2 years. Will he be ready in 2 years ( season after this ) to compete with Demko I suppose is the question or do they keep Demko and trade Silvos. Might be they try and resign Silvos ASAP before he gets to RFA. I'm confident they have a plan and I'm betting Castonguay has the pieces put together already
  4. I think this is not actually about a hope and pray, but a comparison of where other team are at. Most NHL teams have mmaybe 1 or 2 players on the farm that are just being held back by the NHL vets ahead of them. Vcr doesn't have a ready to go players just waiting his turn. We have hopefuls
  5. I tend to think Patterson isn't popular or appreciated by fans because he does and will call out stupidity. Compared to other teams Vcr is lack simply because of trading away so many picks, and high picks at that. Five good picks wasted and that's why we're in a deficit Here's the article I can'tsee ant other team that's traded away so many picks One Takeaway From Each NHL Team's Development Camp - The Hockey News
  6. A review of each NHL teams development camp. Here's the Vcr review VANCOUVER CANUCKS
  7. Plus these 2 D were legends Vladimir Konstantinov and Viacheslav Fetisov along with Sergei Fedorov, Igor Larionov and Vyacheslav Kozlov,
  8. There's a lot of pressure on all the forwards this coming season, simply we have too many and mostly of the same skills set. Some one has to go. I'm hoping Boeser reads the tea leaves and get's into shape this summer. I believe management check players during the summer and they'd all be advised to take summer prep time real seriously
  9. I'm confused about the dates. Is he out for a year from now ie he won't play next season or is the summer an adequate rehab period?
  10. How many fans have seen this player in a game and how come 32 teams scouting staffs passed on him twice ( he was selected in the 3rd round ) lets just cool our jets and wait until we've seen more of his play even though it will be in the OHL. Fantasy should be left to Disney and fans should stick to facts
  11. If I'm brutally honest I didn't expect much from Pods I never expected greatness. In the 2019 I had my fingers crossed Zegras might fall to us, we went 9th Grrrrr. Anyway Pods was messed around in the KHL/Jrs and he just never seemed to recover. There have been flashes of quality but they're few and far between. I hope he can improve with time. Hogs was a joy to watch in his first years but coaching IMO was killing his game. I hope they take the leash off and let him go. The joke often is he's a good player despite the coach, and i tend to think this covers Hogs ( that's just me ) Bains doesn't understand the word NO, He will get better on his own merits I just hope it's with Vcr
  12. We always seem to forget the times Hughes messes up, it's not often but just like the horse in the parade you need some one clening up afterwards. And there's a school of thought that putting all you eggs in one basket leaves the other pairing vunerable. Don't make it easy on the opposition.
  13. I don't believe so. If Tryamkin had gone down to Abby he would have done better, pride killed his chnaces. Jurmo, assuming he's signed wiil start in the AHL and go from there, he can and will learn a lot
  14. It was a tragedy that Edler was let go, and replaced by OEL. No competant management would do such a thing. Edler immedatelly sign in LA and a fraction of the cost of OEL LA coach on Edller
  15. First of all I believe management is wrong for not signing him already. I understand they're letting perculate in EU. But at the same time they're denying him the sort of development he can get in Abbotsford. We have a great staff ( or so it seems in Abby ) who could be the difference in turning Jurmo into an NHL player or not. To allow a player of his physic be wasted is a hanging offence IMO ( just joking )
  16. For me Hoglander brings another element. He's genuinely excited to play hockey, on the ice off the ice on the bench IMO it's youth rubbing off on team mates. Too many of our players look like they've lost a dollar and found a dime, just lacking in jump. Hoglander brings that in spades
  17. Don't worry it'll ware off. Think January -10C and snowing LOL
  18. Over his hockey career he'll make in total approx $5+ million. good for him.
  19. I' glad he plays in the Eastern Conf. Honest player and team man
  20. Ohlund was the man, consistent thoughout and remember Tamps brought him over with pretty good money to mentor Headman, that says a lot in my books. Plus of course he only had partial vision in one eye. I used to love that move he and Sopel used to make on the PP at the blue line.. Ohlund would drift further and further towards the middle and then Sopel on the right side would suddenly skate behind into the open sapce created by Ohlund and walk in for a cannon of a shot. Magic
  21. That was my read. Reinhart wanted to move to the lower mainland to go into the finance relam for post hockeey as I recall, his sons of course look pretty good. Ohlund mman what a D'man, he was a horse and just eat up minutes annd as you said tough. Jovanoski, naw he came with a reputaion and man was he a tough kid ( Deadmarsh will attest to that ) but he wasn't always the smartest or reliable guy with the puck on his stick, but man would he be a great fit todays roster. The pairing of Sopel and Ohlund was pretty darm good and I was happy when he won the SC!
  22. You know what concerns me about Pearson, what attitude he comes back with. After his wrist problem and treatment will he be a positive influence or a nagging nelly in the locker room?
  23. I could be wrong for sure but there seems to be a thought process about "I just want to play for a winner" EP stated as much as did Horvat. A couple of things, you need to keep FA profit margin up a bit ( acouple of rounds in the play-oo certainly helps.) Plus if you want to sign "better" players there has to be a better incentive than just the view of the Northshore Mountain. Losing is a tiring process and before you know it the franchise is recognized as a loser, then of course you needs fans to fork out for tickets. There were times last season fans couldn't even sell their tickets, no takers. Willander ( maybe good, toss of a coin) but he's likely 3 years away from proficency as an NHL player. Few draft picks are NHL ready to go
  24. Edler played in a semi mens league as I recall, and that's where he was drafted. Hockey Sweden basically black balled him for moving to the Dub
  25. . Hutson, a 2022 2nd round pick was compared to Cale Makar by Reinbacker at the Mtl prospects camp
