where teams do well is in the first round that makes or breaks their scouting. 2-7 round is a coin flip. Fans are quick to point out the succesful 5th round pick for Team "X" etc. but never bring up ALL the failures. JB had 8 drafts to make his mark as a draft supremo. 2 first round picks were traded away ( if scouting was his calling card ??? why ) 3 quality picks QH,EP and BB 2 failure JV & OJ 1 yet to be decided VP ( fingerscrossed ) 0.26 pts/game he's 20 years old JB did have the avantage of picking high most years because the Canucks were a poor team It's not IMHO awe inspiring, approx 40% success rate, hardly the work of a perosn thought to be scouting guru

What I could never understand was this. Chevy in Winnipeg was in the midst of rebuilding his D, why then would he not sign Poolman, he'd been in the Winnipeg system I believe for 4 years. I have a lot of time for Chevy and it had me scraching my head, and said so at the time. My conclusion was he was a lemon

Unless you allow for the fact that OJ was a top 5 O/A selection Juuleson was a 1st round pick and Lammikko a 3rd round. The obvious error was selecting Juolevi when there were better BPA and much better D''men available. One point though is Juuleson was a major error by Mtl. I'm impressed how Lammikko has improved since he arrived

Juolevi has played 9 games foor Florida since arrived. He's been out with Covid and now on the IR. His contract given so generously by Benning expires this year and I suspect he'll be back to EU
-
Chances are that's about to change

I actually feel like the 5/6/7 D are actually developing under Boudreau

The forgotten man. I hope the new GM takes a look at what is still a free assett to the club. They may see him in a different light -
Jannick Hansen didn't have a bad record Jannik Hansen Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com I doubt LOckwood will equal that William Lockwood Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com

You can only judge the future by the history you have, it's called experience

I wish we'd saved the Cap space. He only rarely plays. If I'm Aquaman I'd be pi$$ed paying this guy $3 mill, that's a lot of money

I might have missed some media/Canucks announcement but I have no clue what exactlly is wrong with Harmonic

I have a home in NS. NS is Bruins/Mtl territory, too polite to say much but if looks were daggers I'd be dead a hundred times over I drive cross country there and back and I love seeing folks look at my Canucks sticker and then turn and stare at me to see if I'm real

I just don't get it. Sautner was up for quite a strech a couple of years ago and looked promising, but that's the last we heard of him

Out of 10 I'd say he's a 3. Done nothing to make you believe he has more to bring to the table. He seems to lose an edge too often does not show a high IQ and his speed is average. To top it of he does not seem to be paticulaly strong along the boards, a must for a NHL D'man IMO

The earlier head scout, Peanuts O'Flaherty refused to draft any player over 6' HE was 5'10 I believe, not a good start. But since then Vcr has never had ( IMO ) given as much thought to drafting as they should. The best thing Brackett did as to bring order and priority to the scouting dept. It's my belief Todd Harvey has taken the same path as Brackett with his assements. Here's a question will Bradon Benning survive as a scout ??

I have no idea how much you travel around Canada but there's very little admiration for Vcr and the Canucks, and who knows as much as they may try long grown angst is tough to put it aside. They call BC Lotus land and as arule despise it

Yeah I notice that all the time, Schenn arrives in the scrum and every one has a re think
-
Fingers crossed hoever I've never seen any thing in his play to suggest he has much of an a NHL future
-
Last seen marching in front of Parliment
-
OEL, not a bad D'man but a bl00dy expensine one for what he provides. on the other hand Schenn not bad but good value IMO
-
Sorry, but his spot has been taken by Dickenson ( thank u JB )

[Report] Canucks name Patrik Allvin as GM
Fred65 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
IIf another team takes on a Miller/Boeser type player they must find Cap Spaace themeslves so as a rule some thinng comparible moves the other way or picks. I doubt any one is going to take Miller straight up for a couple of propspect -

Please no, we just had 8 years of rebuild, will we ever have a good team again, a team we can enjoy. Not all drfat picks turn out to be great -
IMO I'd like to see Dickinson gone and replaced byLammikko

Ever look up the fight between Cox and Probert. I think they said 70+ blows llanded, just toe to toe. But the toughest IN my opinion was Boogard
