[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Colorado Avalanche | Nov. 11, 2021

That depends on how desperate are the bobbsey twins wanting to make the play-off. JB might start trading draft picks again, encouraged by FA -
[PGT] Anaheim Ducks at Vancouver Canucks | Nov. 09, 2021
Fred65 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Watching the game against the Ducks it struck me this team is loaded. Their goaltending is solid, a good handful of vets, but the youngster, Zegras, Drysdale, McTavish, Terry all quality platers. The future looks good -
I think he get's his chnace when Schenn moves on, it he does he's still only 32

A Dave Nonis era pick, although most picks after the first is up to the scouts it my understanding. I recall the JB saying to Brackett, on video 2017, well you got your man (Rathbone) Just galncing at the 2019 draft that could turn out to be the best ever. Podkolzyn, Hoglander, Focht, Silvos, Plasek, McDonough and Costmar

I think Hansen was drafted out of Sweden and then he went to the Dub I don't think many scouts had faith in Denmark as future NHL prospect
-
Remember Jannick Hansen was a point a game player with the Winterhawks

The farm team should be a tool, but not that many seem to graduate. To my way of thinking currently the best development routes for a playeris either NCAA or EU. WE were helped when Edler was drafted by Kelowna in the junior itnernational draft. One of the best moves mostly forgotten was when Gillis bought an AHL franchise. Prior to that we shared and usually got the wrong end of the stick just think last season sharing with Winnipeg, Silvos got one game in the season. The AHL team in Chicago was a disaster for years. Compare the development of Rathbone, Lind and Hogelander.

I always liked the way Gretzky set up behing the net, similar to lacross
-
The extra part he brings to the game, strength and toughness, may well be his ticket to the NHL

I suspect the best move the kid made to join Kamloops, you can bet Vcr have eyes on him every game. I believe Swedish hockey don't like it but the greaater understanding they get of the NA style the better. It worked for Edler and it looks like it's working for Persson

Former Canuck Maxim Lapierre destroys Toews ( article).

Of coursefans can take their own disgust out by booing Toews and Kane in the next appearance, just to let them know, we recognize your failings and won't let you forget -
Interesting take by Craig Button on the Donny and Dhali show where he said the Canucks are trying to cover the poor defensive core by using the forwards to cover up, which he felt was wrong. Basically you don't throw away your stregnth to over come your eakness. He sai the forwards were good and our wasting their talent by using them mostly on defence. Funny enough Horvat said the same but in a different way ie just becauuse we're playing more defensive we don't need to give up on offense

I seriously doubt it ( signing him ) they've had ample opportunity and some how rather than sign hopeful prospect the mandate will be to make Abby a successful team & garner some revenue. So the team you see there currently will be a model for the future, sign quality AHL players
-
Most teams play the 1-3-1 on th PP it mostly works on the strength of the personnel and it's level of skill. In Vcr some times frustration creeps in and individualism. The ability to one time a shot is a defficuly skill to master

You could say that for Hughes too, I know this isn't a populat concept but his defensive game ( better this season ) is not a shining example of how to play defense. But they stick with him because the pluses are greater than the negative IMO

Rathbone will learn and maybe Abbotsford is part of his journey BUT he will be a NHL defenceman more so than the other options Vcr are carrying on the roster. He will excel in Abby but I doubt that will teach him the lessons he needs to learn. The AHL is too easy for him and I doubt he will be challenged. Bottom line unfortunately for him he is waiver free. You take a look at the bottom end of the Canucks roster and it's a hodge podge of lower grade players. It's a shame he missed the NYR and his buddy Fox but I suspect that's more to do with the travel plans of Abbys team

Coaches tend to do that to players safety first

for myself I think he is down in Abby to learn and simplyfy his game. I think he seems to making his game too complicated? He sees Hughes garnering praise and wants part of that glory?? You have to play within yourself/own abilities. How Hughes is allowd to get away with some of his choices still has me scratching my head

Just checking on Karlson. He plays for Skelleftea, he's 22, centre, shoots right, 6'/180. His team is 4th O/A and he is 7th in Pts. on the roster ( Oscar Moller, 32, a 2nd round pick of LA ) is 4th in Pts for the same team. He's no standout in the SEL so can some one tell me why he would excell in the NHL, an honest question
-
I'd completely for got about this, Brilliant when you think about. No fun to watch but it's Tampa Bay who instigate it with the no attempt to fore check. Mt Betteman would like this now would he LOL

Best part of the game is the end of the last game for the season
