Both Pronger and Chara were pugilists of the first order. Chara played in P. George and took on every one and won every time. If we're honest Chara is a bit of a physical freak, nice guy I've been told .... but mean

How many youngsters have the Canucks playing in the WJC ?
-
It will be a measure of the journalist as much as Podkolzin. I have to say I'm becoming a tad concerned about the lack of production by Podkolzin. I'm hoping he is a player that just sjows better with a better class of team mates. It gives you some thing to look forward to for the WJC. The Canucks have a lot of prospects in the WJC

I see Persson was seelected to the Swedish WJC team. He plays for Kamloops after that which will be a great benefit. Edler went that route too

I enjoy the Dobber articles, they don't wave pompoms and as a rule are as close to accurate as you can get

A Russian report on Podkolzin, mixed messages. A Russian publication . who knows maybe the journalist is the equivalent to Tony Gallagher

Big saving for me. Last night the wife and I spent some of those savings on a really nice dinner out ... we won

There's some truth in that ...however ... has was quite willing to drop the gloves with that well known pugalist Filip Forsberg and he gave him a whipping. He of course put that fighting aside after he ran in to Healy in NJ. If you want to be a push and shove guy you have to back it up occasionally. However in his defence I don't believe Green wants fighting or penalties. I often thought Green wasted Gudbranson, he could have put a stamp on the club not to mess with Vcr, the ability was there, Green chose not to IMO. It's no good having tough guy if Green has them parked in the middle of the bench ... again IMO

I'd agree with that assessment. I believe there is opportunity to improve and he has always struck me as a player that wants to get better and listens. He has from the begining been a player that want to look after both end of the ice but need help to get there. He's not over priced and if you believe in the player it might be wise to tie him down on a long term cheap contract. God knows we're going to need some good Cap management in the near future. I have no doubt in my mind that in addition to EP + QH looking for big money, so too will likely Rathbone and other in the future young D we have

My my, I'm looking forward to the end of the Covid19 and the end to the WOKE sect

Tell me how many times have you seen a duplicate of that rush in minor hockey, nice rush but no idea how to finish. Heck you can see it when you visit 8 rinks. I think his size prevents him from cutting back but he has to work on it or make the most of his size and drive right through the net

Podkolzin is 14th in scoring on the St Petes team. Linden Vey has 300% more points than Podkolzin so it you're the coach who do you play the senior players producing and above him in points or Vasiliy
-
Certainly not the Pom Pom shakers some aspire to
-
Errr NO. The coach has a job to do, he wants tp preserve his own job and he knows Podkolzin will not be with the team next season. He couldn't give a flying you know what about the development of Podkolzin.

Demko played like a man possessed, I wonder if he can repeat that but the score didn't show how dominate Vegas was ... IMHO
-
Benn is replaced by Tryamkin, good chance. If Tryamkin signed for 1 year does he become a FA at the conclussion of that contract ??
-
Vegas played with us and to make it to the SC you have to go through Vegas, an improved Vegas. We're getting better but Vegas is still ahead of us. You have to have a plan, depending on luck is for the idiot who play the slots

Yeah me too. I respect much of what Button says ( remember Button said Virtanen was a second round pick ) but each time I listen to Button he seems to make sense and doesn't use weasel words. McKenzie I don't believe played hockey but he has rubbed shoulder with a lot of GM's Scouts and players and has gathered a lot of information during a long career and again seems good at his job. As to Rafferty as I've stated i watched his two games at Rogers and he shone from the begining. He may have flaws bit oun the two games I watched he didn't show them
-
It's going to funny if Rathbone out plays Juolevi, then what does JB do
-
I think at long last we may be seeing a long term plan emerge. Vcr will not win the SC next season but have a good chnace in a further 2-3 years and there is a need to develop youngsters so they are ready at that time. This next season, should there be such a thing, is the start of preperations for that moment ie blooding the youth.

You need to remember that Messier was an owner signing, as for Mogiliny once he discovered golf, hockey fell to the back of the queue very quickly
-
Yeah for sure. It's amazing where young girls want autographs. The whole bar is rocking
-
I have no evidence point but to me Jasek is like a forgotten player, he's been through at lot in the Czech league but he's still going. His character has been tested. He's 23 and if Covid hadn't struck this would be a deciding point for his career. Fingers crossed

I'd agree with that. One thing that does chnage IMO with promotion to the NHL is watching, learning, and practising with the vets can change out looks and tricks of the trade. The number of times you hear prospects say for instance I thought I was in good shape ... but had to take it to a new level when I reached the NHL. The thing with Rafferty is he has fundamentally crashed the barrier of what he can do in the AHL. If he doesn't make the next leap they may as well move him, there's nothing more he can do in Utica. He's showing others in Utica not the opposite. I assume that point has been made by his agent, he wants a chnace at the big $$ and rightly so he has a shelf life and he's in his mid twenties already. The best thng for Rafferty is come to cam in great shape and with a winning attitude
