  1. Should’ve been listening to the expert analysis of Sat & Bic at SN650. They always seem to magically have all the answers in between periods and with the aid of multiple replay angles. After the fact.
  2. You can chuck it all in the bins if/when Allvin trades Miller for the #1 pick. It’s the only way you-know-who wears a Canucks jersey and lid on draft day.
  3. I don’t think he “deserves a shot” any more than Jordan Subban did. Maybe he’s just not good enough for the NHL. Or, at the very least, doesn’t factor into the current makeup of the team going forward.
  4. Even if he does, do you really see him being part of the top-6 going forward? Specifically, knowing who’s already going to be competing for roster spots at LHD in training camp next season? The team already has a LHD who plays a similar game. And, there’s at least 2 RHD’s who also are more offence-minded. Exactly where does he fit in with the Vancouver Canucks beyond this season? I don’t think he does.
  5. I think maybe he feels he “deserved” a bigger role than he had. But, I never saw anything from him that warranted that.
  6. There’s no shortage of bottom-6 younger LH’s to do what Pearson does.
  7. You’re forgetting that this team will look different from training camp and opening night next season than it does now. Nothing wrong with coaches and management getting a look at who they think they will want to keep going forward. You really believe Tocchet, Allvin and Rutherford are going to settle for mediocrity? I don’t know about “major surgery”, but, there’s still plenty of holes left to fill and moves to be made before this team is going to be a legitimate playoff contender. But, by no means should anyone expect mediocrity to rule the day anymore. I think they’ve graduated from being mediocre for the better part of the last decade to being “not quite good enough yet.” Keyword: “yet.” I’m genuinely hyped for and looking forward to the next season, rather than being bummed about it as usual under Benning.
  8. Just keep in mind there are 3 levels of suites separating the lower and upper bowls. Hopefully you’re not 6ft tall or more, either. Otherwise, you might have a legroom issue. Particularly in the upper bowl. Public transport is a breeze from most anywhere in the area (Los Angeles city and County are HUGE), including 2 rail lines that stop 1 block over from the arena on Figueroa. Great atmosphere inside and outside in the plaza. Lots of options within walking distance if you’re the type that likes to “get loose” or grab a bite after the game.
  9. Would YOU trade for Tyler Myers if you were an NHL GM? He’s got to be a buyout candidate. It’s the only way, other than packaging him with the plethora of LH’s this team has and can afford to part with. This team does not currently have a legitimate RHD to pair with Hughes. Specifically, not one who wouldn’t be a head-scratcher or question mark on the top pairing from the right side. That has to be addressed this summer. The rest of the group is really missing only 1 piece in the form of an Edler/Öhlund-type for Hronek. There’s no shortage of in-house LHD candidates for the 3rd pairing with Bear, and I think it’s a deeper corp/core with him on the 3rd rather than 2nd line.
  10. Exactly what does he bring, though? As lacking as the Canucks are in RH’s, he’s got size, but not physicality. He can play the C, but, is he really a playmaker? He’s certainly not a scorer, either. Where does he slot-in with this group going forward?
  11. Would be nice to see him paired with an Edler or Ohlund type.
  12. You really believe J.T. Miller gives 3 you-know-whats about what his CDC and SN650 detractors say? Particularly, to the point where he’s making an effort to change their collective mind? I sure hope he’s not as Kevin-Durant-sensitive as that, and I’d rather like to believe if he’s listening to anyone enough to change his game for the better, it’s Tocchet and his staff.
  13. SN650 is seriously difficult to stomach during the day M-F and between periods on game days. Don’t know about anyone else, but, I sure do miss the Team1040 and King of Floors hockey.
  14. You know what I mean, hopefully. To paraphrase Justin Fields, fans “don’t put in the work.” Sure, we have the power to withhold our money, but, realistically, that won’t happen in the Vancouver market. Full disclosure: although I’ve rocked with the Canucks since the early ‘90’s, I’m actually down the road in Seattle, and haven’t been to a Canuck home game since 2009. Whilst I’m still not convinced Vancouver is at the level of Montreal or Toronto as a Canadian market, fans are still incredibly passionate for the home side, and a boycott or something similar in an effort to “send a message” or whatever, as was alluded to a few pages ago, is not going to happen. Whomever decides to give up their season tickets because the team obviously isn’t tanking, the way this team really does seem to be putting pieces together for an eventual upward trajectory, there will be someone else ready to take them. But, back to “suffering”. Ours is purely emotional, and in no way comparable to what those actually employed by the organization feel.
  15. Maybe they played like crap because - aside from the instability of the overall franchise - they (players and coaches) really just weren’t that good? I think both are better now, as is the management end.
  16. Sorry, but, fans do not “suffer”. We don’t play in the games. Pretty sure no one at this board has been released, demoted or traded because of how much the Canucks have stunk for the last decade.
  17. It’s called pride. As in, having/taking it in what they do. While the Vancouver Canucks really haven’t fielded a squad to chirp about for a decade, I still love this franchise, and get absolutely no thrill up my leg whatsoever when it loses. I’m going out on the proverbial limb here by saying I don’t think the coaches and players do, either, and I’d be hella disappointed if they were lacing up the skates with draft day in mind. That’s something for management and ownership to consider on the daily, not coaches and players.
  18. I can definitely see Millsy taking a turn around the rink with the Cup above his head “within 3 years”. I just have my doubts it’ll be as a Canuck. This franchise is not “within 3 years” of a championship parade. They’re definitely headed in the right direction, though. I really believe that. Hopefully, people can get past the emotional response to seeing Boudreau get the elbow and embrace what was needed in hiring Tocchet. That was a major brick in the foundation. I just hope there isn’t any movement backwards this summer. I think that will probably rest either way on what happens with Millsy.
  19. Hopefully his detractors in this market will realize what they/we had if/when he’s gone within the next year.
  20. THIS!!! It’s exactly why I cringe when fans and media label pro athletes as “entertainers”. Why would anyone believe they’re out there for anything other or less than competition and the will to win?
  21. So, you’re not a “true fan” if you’re not celebrating losses right now?
  22. You really believe it’s in Tocchet’s DNA to tank?
