  1. He's a 1/10 for me. The worst GM the Canucks have ever had. Virtanen, Juolevi, Podkolzin, as top 10 picks in the draft with much better players on the board is absolutely ridiculous. Free agents and/or trades of Eriksson, Mcann, Myers, Beagle, Roussel, OEL, letting go of Chatfield, trading Forsling. Also, having terrible player development. Hiring the wrong coaches in Desjardins and Travis Green. I don't give him credit for the Hughes pick as that was was obvious. Petterson was an outstanding pick but I give Judd Bracket the credit on that. Same with Thatcher Demko and Boeser. Also, Boeser has also regressed for the past two years. The PTSD of Jim Benning is real.
  2. Any news on Ryan Mcallister and who the favourite is to land him? I haven't heard his name for a bit. I googled him as well and there is no news on him and or likely landing spots.
  3. The incompetence of this leadership group is worse then anything we have ever seen in Canucks History. This leadership group in just over a year have made the Canucks the laughing stock of the league and even worse, has led to apathy from the fans. There is nothing worse than an apathetic fan base that has stopped caring. I will always be a Canucks fan, but that does not mean that I will settle for terrible leadership.
  4. I'm really hoping anyone attending the game today chant "Bruce there it is" for most of the game. Winning, losing, don't matter. One last final sendoff for a man that has only been a true professional. He doesn't deserve this absolute disgrace and disrespect that is going on. I also hope there are "fire JR signs". This for me comes down as one of the biggest blackmarks in Canucks history. The other two biggest blackmarks that I can think of was the Bertuzzi hit and the Keenan years. The Keenan years were the only time in my lifetime that I stopped watching the Canucks for the three year span. It was unbearable. It's coming to that point again. I go to a lot of games and my son has become a huge fan as well, but I can't watch leadership destroying the Canucks history and brand.
  5. I couldn't agree more. I feel the same. A leader of any organization (in this case the Aquilini's) should've fired JR the moment he went on CBC during after hours and ripped BB. JR can feel the way he does and he can say those things to Boudreau behind closed doors and he can also fire him at that time if he feels necessary, but you never do that to another human being. He's a terrible president, leader and person imo for behaving in such a manner. And since then, JR has continued in the same way. He talks the biggest game I've ever seen and has not once backed it up.
  6. I also don't think this is true. However, if the Bruins heard this and felt like they were actually doing these things Chara is saying, then that still provided them bulletin board material and extra motivation. As a Canucks fan, I don't think I'll ever get over this loss and these comments from Chara just put more salt to a wound that will never heal. I'm interested in hearing what Bieksa will say on Saturday night.
  7. I can't crown him that quite yet. Still the Sedins for me at this point after Pavel Bure. Yes, Elias is playing better than them at the age of 24, but lots of hockey still yet to play. Sedins were dominant for so many years and in a different era. Goal scoring is much higher right now, save percentage of goalies much lower. I'm a huge Petey fan and hope he does become the best player the Canucks ever have, even over Bure (Bure has always been my favourite Canuck) but still too early. We saw the struggles of Petey for the first half of last year and hopefully that was just an anomaly.
  8. Agree to some extent as it's not his fault he was picked 10th overall. It just sucks there were other players we could've chosen like Caufield that were taken after him. I like Podz though and his work ethic, it just sucks that we picked him 10th overall. I will still root for him though.
  9. I hope so. It goes one of two ways in my opinion. They either rally around Bruce or they themselves quit on management (JR primarily). Sometimes it's as subtle as not giving everything you have going after a loose puck or not making a hit that you normally would have. It's a fine line though as they have been warned apparently as per reports that JR is willing to waive people. It can be the office space movie adage " work just hard enough not to get fired". In this case, not get sent down to the minors. I hope the latter is not the case.
  10. This management group, and primarily Jim Rutherford has the WORST traits in leadership one can find. We hear it all the time in companies, people leave workplaces because of their bosses. Aqualini should actually fire Jim Rutherford and do it ASAP. Jim Rutherford is an absolute atrocious leader. Examples of his terrible leadership: 1) The public dismantling of Bruce Boudreau in public. If you have issues with the coach or the way he is coaching you do that behind closed doors. Don't embarrass someone publicly. Don't you think players are seeing that and are like our coach clearly doesn't know what he's doing. They also know there is 0 chance that the coach will be back next year. In other jobs, if someone is a boss of a group of people and that bosses boss rips him to shreds every chance he gets, how do you think the rest of the team will feel about their boss, and also their boss's boss. And for that matter their company. In other jobs you can leave, in this, they have signed contracts, but can quit on the team. 2) He keeps referring to the team as Bruce's Team or the Canucks, like it isn't his team. Where is the "our team". He is supposed to be a part of the team but is making it sound like it's not his team. 3) He is passing all the blame to Bruce Boudreau and not taking any accountability for his work. He should be saying we can all do better, I can do better. Because that is the reality. He keeps saying we tried to do this or we were after all defenseman in the offseason but couldn't because of this or that. Bottom line- you failed at making the necessary changes. Take some ACCOUNTABILITY. I put way more of the blame on Jim Rutherford then I would on Bruce. 4) He doesn't motivate, he doesn't have anyone's back. People can look to his three championships and say, look see he's a proven winner. When you have Crosby and Malkin in their prime I'm not giving him credit for that. Carolina in 2006, sure, i'll give him some credit. I love this team and have been a fan since 1986. We have seen some bad coaches and bad management at times, but the way Jim Rutherford conducts business is by far the worst I have seen and it's not even close.
  11. What conduct is he not doing professionally. I have seen him several times and I think he is great. What exactly is he doing?
