Laffy isnt gonna come in make them a powerhouse in his first year. He's not a Mcdavid or Mathews. He's a tier below. He'll be a good addition to 2nd or 3rd line. Give them more depth and offense deeper into lineup. I think Puljijarvi will make more of an impact than Laffy would in his rookie year. . He's a more mature and developed player. Led the best team in Finland in scoring and is developing an all around game.

Hawks play VGK or COL next. They'll be out.. If Oilers get the 1st and Laffy they'll be better for getting kicked out in this round. They can use Laffy on 2nd or 3rd line. Provide some depth and offense deeper into lineup. With Puljijarvi looking like he's willing to come back they should look good next season. Pulji signed for 1 yr in Finland but with an NHL out clause He said recently he's grown as a person and with change in mgmt in Edmonton he's willing to come back.

[Report] Panthers to part ways with GM Dale Tallon
WHL rocks replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Lots of teams gave up players to Vegas like that. Look what Minny gave up... a budding young power forward Tuch.. CBJ gave up Karlsson who scored 40+ goals his first season in Vegas. Many teams gave up high picks.. Those players weren't the same with their previous teams as they became with Vegas..JB has said he'd be willing to do something like that to protect Demko in the Seattle expansion draft.. Trocheck is a 10 goal 35 Pts player making 4.75 mill.. lol That trade got 2 prospects and Wallmark a 24 year old C with upside and more goals than Trocheck last season. Plus Haula 12 goals in 41 games...but hes UFA and likely gone in summer. So 4.75 mill 10g 35 pts out 2 prospects and RFA Wallmark in. After signing Wallmark they should have 3.5 mill to sign another player this summer.. Tallon did a great job in Chicago building all that talent before the Bowmans came in and the team started winning cups. He's also drafted well and brought in all those great young players in FLD.. It's time for a change in FLD so I don't have a big issue with it but Tallon will get a job in NHL when ever he wants. I do think he takes a break for a year or so. -
Were not beating Colorado anytime soon anyways. Thats the team we gotta worry about..We have a ways to go on our rebuild.. . Might win vs Minny but not going any further... Oilers can't attract UFAs and they have Nurse and Larsson becoming UFA in 2 seasons. They'll be gone to a nicer city.. Trust me ... I spend a lot of time in edmonton. I'm in edmonton right now for few more days. I wouldn't wanna live here if i was a NHL player. And definitely not if i was UFA and had a choice...

[Report] Panthers to part ways with GM Dale Tallon

Tallon was doing a great job before he was let go in 2016 and replaced by Tom Rowe and his analytics. Rowe did a roster overhaul..when the team sucked he fired coach Gallant 20 games in.....its been all downhill since... Rowe only lasted 1 year before Tallon was brought back in 2017 to fix things again...but the damage was done. Bobrovskiy's 7 yrs 10 mill per season was a terrible signing by Tallon. -
No big deal. Put Ferlie on LTIR tell him to retire or at minimum take entire regular season off.. Take his 3.5 mill cap hit, add 1.5 mill +/- 500k and put it towards re signing Toffoli.

[Speculation] Canucks interested in Tyson Barrie

Nah. He'll go back Sweden. He's been getting over paid for 4 yrs now and a 3 mill bonus already paid for next season. He knows what's right.. He's aĺready been paid 31mill out of 36 mill he would make in 6 yrs. He's averaged 7.75 mill salary for 4 yrs. He's not going to screw the Canucks. He knows this organisation has been good to him. Naslund was still playing ok in NYR. He left 4 mill salary and retired before last year of his contract went back to Sweden. Swedes don't tend to be all that greedy. They're a bit different. -

Yup. Sens and few other teams. Lots of teams will be struggling because of Covid19. NHL is a gate driven league and no fans in seats will be hard on many teams. -

He only has 1 million dollars in salary for next season. What's there to retain out of that.. league minimum is 750k.. His salary isn't the problem. His cap hit is 6 mill, that's the problem. If a financially struggling team wants to artificially inflate their cap he'd be perfect for them. They can reach cap floor and not have to pay that much in actual dollars.. If he doesn't retire send him to AHL. He wont wanna play in the minors he'll retire and go play in Sweden. -

I think Ferland is done. Add 1.5 mill to Ferlands LTIR 3.5 mill and offer Toffoli 5 mill. Give or take 500k .. I think good possibility LE retires after taking his 3 mill bonus. He's only got 5 mill left in salary next 2 seasons combined. 1 mill next season and 4 mill his last season. If he doesn't voluntarily retire demote him to AHL.. I think he'd rather go back to Sweden and play a year or two to end his career than ride the bus in AHL. Baertchi only makes 2.4 mill in salary next season. Not 3.7 mill and 4.0 mill like he made last 2 years.. there's a chance someone takes him on waivers.. he could be usefull for a low cap team in need of some skill/offense. Maybe Canucks retain 500k... Teams will be interested in Baer at under 2 mill. That's almost half of his 3.7 mill a team would have had to pay him last season.. I think he'll be moved and his 3.4 mill cap hit ( 2.3 in AHL ) comes off the books. Ferland 3.5 mill LTIR LE 6.0 mill retires Baer 2.3 mill waivers/trade Subtotal 11.8 mill Plus 17.1 mill available Total 28.9 mill. Plenty of cap will be available to sign UFAs Marky Toffoli Tanev and RFAs Virtanen Mac Motte and Gaudette. -
You mean like this?? I dont think so.. been waiting almost 10 yrs for this team to show some snarl and toughness.. I dont mind a penalty for physically punishing or bullying their s**t disturbers.. just stay away from silly interference or holding etc. Penalties. We're gonna have to kill a few penalties.. just make sure the 2 mins in the box count towards something.. a cpl punches if someone runs Marky or EP is worth 2 mins in the box

I think if Taffoli wants to re sign in Vancouver and his salary demands arent too crazy there is no way they let him walk. A top 6 winger with Cup pedigree, two way responsible game and has instant chemistry with our 1st line.. 10 pts in 10 games...paid high price to trade for him.. I dont see how JB can let him walk.. Apparently his wife has a great job with the LA Dodgers and shes been there for almost 12 years. So ANA or back to LA Kings are probably his first two choices. But lets see what happens. -

And we have Rathbone on the way. So we don't really need big ticket, UFA, smallish, offensive Dman. Rathbone will be cheap on his ELC.. I could see him on the big club 20 or 30 games into the season if he doesn't make it out of camp..
