  1. I dont think covid was a factor here, I think it was 100% financial.
  2. Disappointed that he didnt give it a go here next season. Obviously, playing in the NHL wasnt as important to him as he would have us believe. Books closed on this player now.
  3. If we were healthy it would be interesting, but we are completely not. Leafs are a one dimensional team (that one dimension is elite),goaltending is, and will continue to be a question mark.
  4. To top it off, I dont think we've seen the worst of it Team is completely out of gas Enjoy the games, but dont look into the results.
  5. I could get behind that Not sure if the Aqualini's could though?
  6. I thought the Canucks came out with a lot of jump at the beginning of the game . The energy level just dropped off as the game went on.
  7. He did play on the PK, probably the last shift of the PK He was not a 'go to' guy on the PK He was 5th, behind Sbisa, Gudbranson, and well behind Edler and Tanev. I'm not saying he has little value, I am saying that he's a 3rd pairing D man, and not in the 'top 4' conversation.
  8. I'd be more than happy if NT could pull that off if/when he returns.. My main argument was with posters claiming that KHL success is a forecaster of NHL success.
  9. Judging by his agents comments, it does sound like he 'quit' on the team..Why is his maturity level being brought up all the time? "But what is interesting to note about Diamond’s comments is that the Tryamkin camp appears to be taking significant ownership regarding the previous fallout with the Canucks. The 26-year-old is married and has a child now. He’s more mature, Diamond says, with a much bigger commitment to fitness.“It’s a different person from the guy who left Vancouver four years ago,” said Diamond. “He’s made a commitment to being in shape, to being the best pro he can be, to having a good diet. He’s slimmed down significantly since then. He really is all in.”
  10. A 3rd pairing D man with upside. Meanwhile , you're posting videos of him going coast 2 coast in the KHL. Reinforcing my point that its an inferior league.
  11. You've got a selective memory.
  12. I think he's great. He's 19 years old, playing against men. NT is 27.He's not going to get that much better. I am a fan of the player, Some of the claims made in the last few pages here about the player, are absurd, and unrealistic.
  13. Along with Tryamkin, we should also sign some of his teammates. Leading goalscorers, Peter Holland and 42 year old Pavel Datsyk. They could just slot in to our lineup, and we'd be a powerhouse. I like Tryamkin as well, but realistically, he projects no more than a 3rd pairing D man. Does this mean he can go coast to coast at the NHL level?
  14. Why didn't he play PK when he was here before?
  15. We've already identified Tryamkin at the NHL level, and we have no idea how well he can PK here ? Just because he's a top 4 D in Russia, does not make him one here.
  16. I'm just demonstrating that its an inferior league, and you're coming up with inferior presumptions. No offence.
  17. My point is that just because he is an effective PK'er at the KHL level, does not mean that it will translate to the NHL level. He is big, but he's not particularly quick, and I'd say the NHL is a lot faster, also, factor in the rink size. To be a top 4 D, you would have to play on one of the special teams, he will have limited minutes otherwise.
  18. Would Marcus Granlund, Hunter Shinkaruk and Linden Vey be scoring stars in the NHL right now ?
  19. Thats the KHL though. That does not translate into he would be effective in the NHL.
  20. I like Tryamkin too. What we do know, is that the KHL is an inferior league. Marcus Granlund and Linden Vey are stars in that league. This has to be taken into account. When Tryamkin left the team, the D was fairly weak, thats not the case now. He does not play on special teams, and that alone would not make him a top 4 D man.
  21. There are some wild over estimations of Tryamkin in the last few pages. A 2nd pairing shut down D man Better than Schmidt An eventual top 4 D man
  22. Conversely, he can make his defence partners look pretty bad as well.lol Maybe they get Hamonic for a little less than $3M.?
