  1. Henrik is playing,Doughty is not..Kings have already clinched a playoff spot..Canucks could win this game, purely because the Kings have taken their foot off of the gas..Canucks as of Saurday morning are 27th overall..
  2. I guess everybody hears things differently..I didn't hear a desperate man on thin ice at all...More like a disappointed one,who vowed (if he still has a job) that he should have stuck to his instincts..
  3. Gillis said he would/and should be evaluated on his job....seems very clear to me.
  4. This is the scary reality..If there is ownership interference..the debates that we have on these boards amount to nought...Especially when nobody really knows who is making the decisions for this team.
  5. Totally this...even if Gillis is fired at least he has set the record straight..He is a confident honest individual and I don't think he'd be gutted at all, being relieved as GM (for what it is) Torts is a good guy and good coach, but completely wrong for this team (and market)...If the ownership stands by Torts ..I see nothing but empty seats at the Rog.
  6. I was using sarcasm in that thread..but it's not far from reality..It would suck..a scorched earth policy.
  7. The most likely scenario would be a new GM would be hired for next season..He will fire JT midway through the season..then we get Mc David
  8. Whats more to the point is how many RFA's would sign here with Torts as the coach..???...A new GM (puppet) would need to start from ground zero
  9. If ownership is meddling ,that would be a serious problem..The next GM would surely be nothing more than a puppet.
  10. One good thing about the game against the Rangers is the success of AV this season....I was an AV supporter here, but did think it was time for a change of scenery after we got toasted by SJ in the first round....You can only laugh at the CDC experts who thought he couldn't coach.
  11. I pvr'd last nights game and watched the TSN panel....absolutely clueless..especially Martin Biron who stated that Kesler wanted to leave the team because 'he's playing too much'..? They were missing Bob McKenzie or Ferraro on the panel..This would have at least brought some common sense into the discussion.
  12. Martin Birion...where do they find these people..?...Is he the second coming of PJ Stock..?...Him stating that Kesler wants to leave the Canucks because he's playing too much is absurd.
  13. Finally glad the playoff watch is over...Big decisions to be made..I remain optimistic though..At the point the Canucks are in now, they have to take a step back to move forward..
  14. Ferraro commenting on how Torts wears out his own players..We don't even need the opposition to do it..
  15. Recent stretch...?...since the Schneider /Horvat deal, I think Gillis has done a decent job.
  16. Niedereiter just got rocked pretty good against LA...he left he game... A little bit of karma perhaps?
  17. Just waiting for the "Bring Back AV" thread.....Rangers have a great road record...Discipline is going to be huge in this game..If the Canucks start taking stupid penalties, they'll get buried...I'm picking the Rangers in this one.
  18. Not at all...Most Canuck fans have the ability to at least be objective...Not everybody has the "pitchfork and torch" reasoning that you have...There's two sides to every story.
  19. Bernier and Reilly are the two bright spots for the Leafs IMO...the rest of the core must be considered a a disappointment....Interesting how Kadri is always brought up in trade rumours ,it's not he first time the Leafs have given up on their draft picks (Steen and Rask). Looking at the rest of the schedule, the Leafs have easier opponents than the Canucks down the final stretch...
  20. I have a vision of a guy furiously chewing his gum with a big smile on his face.......
  21. Not sure if they'll make the playoffs, but they should win tonight against the Wings..
  22. Totally..I don't know how many times I heard the phrase "two teams going in opposite directions"...especially after they beat us (the comets) before the Olympic break.
  23. I think that the Canucks will put in a great effort, but if Bieksa is out it will be tough It's tough enough to put any winning streak together in this league..Its not just Bieksas injury, but you add up all of the injuries and expect the team to do the extraordinary ...tall order indeed.
