  1. @Sikhguy23Is there a way the Lakers could fit Chris Paul on their roster to join LBJ and The Brow? Last I heard Chris Paul, despite being disliked by many players, and not really wanted as a teammate, still is good buds with LeBron. Lakers need a PG to complete the big 3. So do they turn to CP3? Meanwhile all the other teams have gone to duos instead of big 3s so far. Warriors Splash Bros. Clippers Klaw and PG13. Rockets Beard and Russ. Nets Slim Reaper and Uncle Drew.
  2. I go on vacation for a couple weeks and all hell breaks loose in the sports world...:frantic:

  3. Defence needs to be better. Also they have nothing at punt returner. Very average RBs and run game also. I don't see them going very far this year. It will be a building year unless they get a late season lift from NFL cuts.
  4. And yet he made it a point to go after Roussel and Beagle even though you can find cheaper 4th line alternatives.
  5. Didn't realize Tryamkin was finished his contact in Russia..
  6. He's got probably another 3 good years left tops. He is 30 now starting the back end of his prime years left. I doubt he sniffs the Norris though though Giordano just won despite pushing 40 soon. I could see him leave New Jersey after his 3 years are up and finish his career with the Leafs as a free agent, he gets revenge on the Habs and also to try to win a cup in his hometown.
  7. Elite 3rd liner is Boldys floor if he improves his skating his potential is a lesser Miko Rantanen which is pretty darn good. Podkolzin could stand to improve his skating and shot as well. But his 2 way potential will put him in Travis Green's good graces and likely a longer leash than Goldy.
  8. VaSilY PoDKolZiN So he will succeed because he is not a typical Russian. Got it.
  9. I would look to Val Nichuskin as a cautionary tale. Big Russian power wing.
  10. Mike Gillis had a no Russian policy. At some point you gotta realize Russians specifically more than other Euros need countrymen and a good support system to succeed in a foreign country. Good Russian food is hard to find and not speaking the language at all is a big barrier to adjusting. They don't teach English growing up in Russian schools the country is different from other Euros who can at the very least understand English and speak it enough to not be uncomfortable.
  11. Somebody is big mad. I can't predict the future and can only go off the past and probabilities. And my gut feel still is, this was not the right fit in terms in terms player for this organization. For the Canucks sake I hope he is the 1st of Russian player who actually works out in Van. But I won't be clenching my cheeks or holding my breath for that to happen. 2 years away from having to even think about him.
  12. Under Benning Americans have been great meanwhile nothing to show for Russians between two decades over multiple management teams. It's laughable to think the Canucks will make a Russian friendly environment when currently they have only 1 Russian player on the roster, and a single Russian scout in Sergei Chibisov acting as a translator to vouch for Vasily and his character. They have much work to do in the next 2 years to provide an environment that will be conducive to the development of a young Russian.
  13. He has? So this is maybe a move to help that happen by appearing more Russian friendly?
  14. I know you were being sarcastic right?! &^@# me he actually did. Lol
  15. I have nothing against the kid or style of player. Or actually even that he is a Russian. Just don't think he is a good fit in Vancouver. I don't really trust the Canucks as an organization to manage his transfer to North America properly when he does come over. We have seen it with Tryamkin.
  16. Maybe this is why his face was red before the pick. Some rumors Benning was trying to have more influence on the picks than Judd Bracket.
  17. No he won't Russians never work in Van since Bure left. Goldobin, Shirokov, Tryamkin, Zhukenov,Burmistrov. Really?
  18. You were right to be. Terrible pick for Vancouver's situation. Benning doesn't have a contract so he goes out with a Russian despite their failure developing Goldobin or Tryamkin. Could have had the safe American with all the success college guy well rounded Boldy. But had to make a move outta left field.
  19. Podokolzin would never work out in fan with their history with Russian players recently. Terrible pick.
  20. Only took an hour for 10 picks. Canucks on the clock.
