  1. I think he joins the FLORIDA PANTHERS unless he has beef with Coach Q.
  2. The NFL loves to stay in the news 12 months of the year. Draft should right after March Madness before the NBA and NHL playoffs start. Very disrespectful to take attention away from the other 2 leagues in their best stretch of the year.
  3. The most ambitious crossover since the Avengers: Infinity War?
  4. I been to South Carolina, got family family there, if you must know...
  5. Joao Felix a star is born?

  6. I'm sure his rap career will go big that dirty South country two genre maybe a collab with L. Bell?
  7. Obviously we can't predict trades and who will become available as far as prospects or young players. But just looking at free agent options to play in the middle six at forward are very few true quality and realistic options. I see one of Donskoi or Connolly being a solid piece. Other than that the pickings are slim when you eliminate overpriced and veteran players who will want big money long term deals. The same goes for the d core. You have Adam McQuaid and potentially Anton Stralman but that is about it for free agents. Makes me think Schenn could be back and Benning could hope that Juolevi can make the team. They have a real need for a right shot d though. Jett Woo is still a few years away. Outside of Stecher they don't have anyone to build for the future with.
  8. That is not the point. The point is people are looking at Benning over a cumulative period. They believe this process should have started at minimum 3 years ago. As for this year, I expected them to be improved but EP40 and the arrival of Quinn Hughes has accelerated the timeline to be relevant as a playoff contender again. Markstrom was much better than expected and Stecher and Hutton both established themselves as solid NHL regular 3rd pair d at minimum. My point in the injuries is that the Canucks have been relying on an aging Tanev and Edler to carry this d core the last 3 years while failing in upgrading the d core and getting them support. Most improvement this offseason as well should come from Quinn Hughes and possibly Olli Juolevi if healthy. Benning has shown he has not been able to address the d core despite saying every off season that they want to improve it. I just don't have much confidence in Benning to finally fix the d core and get Horvat a top 6 caliber player via trade or free agency. The expectation to compete to be a playoff team next year imo should be considered a realistic goal. If Benning and Weisbrod are capable of accomplishing it is the question.
  9. I just think at this point Acquilini has probably in his mind been patient enough. They have cap space to add depth this summer to try to actually compete legitimately and be a borderline playoff team, but only if they make the right moves and key players stay healthy. The last thing anyone should want them to do is sign guys to long-term contracts who are already close to 30 or over. Stay away from the Myers and Simmonds types. Also be wary of Karlsson and his foot problems he has not been as dominant yet as he was in Ottawa. I wouldn't mind a mid tier quality type move like the Pearson and Leivo types. On d maybe they could try to trade for a guy like Rasmus Ristolainen coming off a down year. Or a right shot puck mover like Sami Vatanen in New Jersey.
  10. Not yet but I think if they finish among the bottom feeders again it will be hard to sell. Can't just use injury as an excuse every year when they are expected injuries to older players like Edler, and Tanev especially has shown that he is breaking down. Roussel starting next year on IR likely will open up a spot for a guy like Zac MacEwen and/or a UFA. To be honest I have more excitement about the draft than any trades or signings Benning/Weisbrod can pull off without overpaying. I would target a guy like Connolly on Washington and Donskoi on San Jose to add depth to the forward group.
  11. Everybody calling in to 1040 wants Benning gone. Because he is the longest tenured current GM without making the playoffs. They don't trust him to make good signings with good contracts or trades. I agree they are far away still from being a legit playoff team who can actually win 1 round. They only had 9 true outright wins this year vs actual playoff teams. Have to think Acquilini will hire a president this summer who will can Benning if he doesn't have the Canucks on the doorstep of the playoffs.
  12. Antonio Brown is still mad Juju was voted the team MVP. Petty AF! The money and fame exposed his true character. Still a good football player but a total d bag of a person.
  13. Barrett is more Wiggins than Bennett. He won't have the pressure of being the #1 pick. 1. ZION 2. Ja Morant 3. R.J. 4. Cam Reddish
  14. Most people would want Tanev gone since he has proven he is injury prone and can't be relied upon anymore. The best ability is availability. I think they should consider trading him if they can get a top 6 potential forward to play on Horvat's wing. Horvat needs a playmaker on his wing since he is not a great passer or playmaker. Or they could try Spooner there he has shown some nice passing on the PP in limited looks.
  15. In 4 years Myers will be too slow to be a top 4 guy. Big d are old school. Quinn Hughes types are the future. Gardiner is a smooth skater he should be productive for another 4 years. He will want too much term though.
  16. What's the deal with women clogging toilets?

It's like they don't understand no matter how much TP they use, you still won't be as clean as using water.

    Jeezus!

clogging is a dance people do. it would be hard to do on a toilet, i would think.

  17. Yeah I don't think he is a long term answer. His YPC has gone down each season since his rookie year though. 5.2 to 4.1 to 3.7. I would still try to pair him with a back that has more juice in the draft like a Henderson or Justice Hill.
  18. @CBH1926 Eagles got Jordan Howard for relatively cheap. What was his issue? Is he just used up and already at his peak like DeMarco Murray? On the surface, seems like a good between the tackles power back to replace LeGarrette Blount. Still want the Eagles to draft a 3 down back though. Howard seems to have the size to block. Looks like he lacks speed and the hands to be an option in the pass game.
  19. Since when was he at Penn State? Think you are confusing him with another guy? I know there was some scandal but don't remember what it was exactly..
  20. I wonder who was the one team against this and reviewing PI also.
  21. He should go into acting/WWE maybe. Some would say he is one of the most overrated fighters in combat sports history. His last big win was against Jose Aldo. Made a living off beating up smaller guys in lower weight classes while he bulked up after the weigh in doing extreme cuts. Never developed a proper ground game.
  22. When you have as many kids as some of these guys, you can afford to "send a message".
  23. This Oliwer Kalski sounds like a perfect free agent signing for the Canucks.

RHD with size and 2 way ability.

Former teammate of Griffin Molino. RD having a breakout season in the Liiga. I hope the Canucks make a hard push for him. He has the potential to be a real steal. Only concern is that this is his first big season ever at 23 BUT other late bloomers have blossomed into bonafide NHLers and the Canucks don't have the depth to not at least take a chance on him. I'd say go after him since we lost out on Joseph Duszack from the NCAA ranks.

Yes please, Hockey DB has him at 6' while eliteprospects has him at 6'3". I wonder if there was a growth spurt and now hes putting it together.

I think the Canucks could land him if they guaranteed him he would get a chance to play in the NHL right away.
