  1. I agree. The fact he admitted a mistake at all though gives me hope, faint as it is, that this management group can dump Sutter at the draft or in the summer. And maybe even Ericsson (pipe dream)to a team that needs to get to the cap floor. Pearson is a 2 time cup winner. Heavy guy who could fit with Horvat's style of North South game. Spooner-Petterson-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Leivo Roussel-Gaudette-Eriksson Granlund-Beagle-Motte
  2. "Guddy" was barely playing 12 minutes a night. Are you kidding me?! Edler is supposed to be back soon anyways. Team tank baby.
  3. Can't believe the leader for the Green Jacket actually got traded.

Didn't think anybody would want a glorified Brendan Dillon.

This is revenge for Sutter. Hope Penguins miss the playoffs. Haha.:towel:

Wait what the Canucks traded Dahlen to San Jose?!

Dammit Benning you just had to ruin my excitement. Can't get a positive without a negative..:picard:

  4. Benning took advantage of desperate Rutherford with all the Penguin d man injuries. They are at risk of not making the playoffs if Guddy flops like expected.
  5. Not according to Craig Button, he thinks he was passed over because other teams were scared off Russians besides Tampa Bay. Even Tampa took Namestnikov in round 1 before Kucherov. Good to be lucky and better lucky to be good I guess. Tampa has excellent scouting though.
  6. That's my point. With what happened to Benning with Tryamkin and the frustrating Goldobin. You would think they would swear off Russians for good. To my knowledge they only have 1 main "Russian" amateur scout in Sergei Chibisov. He is responsible for the KHL and other leagues in Russia. This guy... If the player needs a translator don't draft him. He won't fit in and will struggle to be one of the guys. If he has good English maybe take a chance but only with a later round pick at best. Ideally you avoid them. Nobody was that mad at Gillis' no Russian policy. Nichuskin isn't doing too great right now.
  7. Of course it does. Acquilini wants playoffs next year. Not so much on Panarin though. He has Canada a no Fly list. I find it hard to believe Vancouver is more preferable to Toronto or Montreal if he had to pick a place in Canada. Canucks should have roughly around 15 million to spend. If they could get rid of Sutter or Gudbranson or Eriksson even resting a bit of salary to do it. It might be worth it. Pipe dream though probably.
  8. What are you talking about? They took Nicklas Jensen in the 1st round 29th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Kucherov went in the second round. Craig Button talked about how at that time the KHL was seen as threat to the NHL because they didn't have an understanding in terms of a player transfer agreement. Lot of teams missed on guys, specifically the Canucks who publicly admitted under Mike Gillis that they had a no Russian policy due to the uncertainty of the KHL transfer agreement. They felt the flight risk was too great to waste a draft pick on a guy who wouldn't be willing to stick it out in North America, going through the minor leagues waiting for an NHL shot.
  9. Said if before and I will say it again. Curse of Pavel Bure. Never will the Canucks get another Russian player even half as good as he was. They don't fit in and the organization's culture and style doesn't fit them. Avoid Russians like Mike Gillis did even though it probably cost the Canucks a chance to draft Kucherov. Still would he have fit in Vancouver the way has in Tampa? Probably not.
  10. Hang on the beach? In the rain 8 months out of the year? Sorry you can't convince me.
  11. Who knows? Depends on the player. Does he want to be bothered in Vancouver or does he want to come to work in flip flops and go hang with some beach babes after practice?
  12. Good luck trading "Guddy", he is the leader in the clubhouse, going for that Green Jacket. How much are those "intangibles" worth to other NHL teams. Guess we will find out soon.
  13. Players don't have to live in Sunrise that play for the Panthers. You can live in Boca or Jupiter FL or Miami or wherever you want. No state tax. You have plenty of money if you are a guy like Panarin. Do you really mind going out of the way for games? Not really. Take your Lambo out for a cruise. It's not that bad. You think Luongo lives in Sunrise? No way! They go there for the games. Just like Philly, most of the players live in New Jersey that play for Philly teams.
  14. Who feels like doing any outdoorsy stuff in the last 2 months?! It has been either cold,or raining,or snowing or all 3! What plays or nightlife? The Roxy and the Number 5 Orange? Lol. You can't seriously compare those to the nightlife available in Montreal or Toronto before even mentioning Florida,New York, or Cali.
  15. This organization should just blacklist Russians like Gillis did. They can't figure it out. How to handle them and get the best out of them and keep them happy. Seriously.
  16. Pre 2010 Olympics maybe, not anymore. Overrated. 20 years of being in this city. Not much to do. When firebds and family visit it's go to Stanley Park and the Aquarium, or go up to Whistler that's about it. Go stand on the Capilano Suspension Bridge and pay money? No thanks. Give me the Golden Gate bridge instead. Wreck Beach or Venice Beach? C'mon.
  17. Have to account for taxes though. No state tax in Florida IIRC, better weather also pockets of Russians in Florida for example. I don't see the fit at all.
  18. He is a perfect fit on the Rangers. Big City feel. Russian friendly hockey team. Panarin-Namestnikov-Buchnevich All Russian line would be a dream..
  19. Yeah wait till Nikita Tryamkin gives him a call... Does he know that it smells like weed everywhere and all the homeless on the downtown Eastside? Also the Taxes and Canadian Dollar being so low? Means the Canucks have to really overpay him. Not to mention how much it rains here. Vancouver is nice place to visit, good scenery, but it is a city that feels like a small town when you have lived here for long enough and a boring one at that. It's fun to fantasize, but the chances of this happening are the same as the Canucks winning the lottery, and drafting Jack Hughes #1 overall.
  20. The rub is that these girls use porn, stripping, amateur "lingerie modelling" etc because it pays more, and is easier work then having to bust their ass at an honest job, like a typical waitress working long hours for tips. How many girls would say yes to sending pictures of their feet to some fetish site, for a couple hundred bucks, when they want or need to make a few extra bucks? A couple hundred bucks to help pay rent, buy food, clothes, or whatever when they want to. Is it immoral behavior? Probably. Is it illegal though? Not unless girls are underaged or coerced in a form of online bullying or blackmail. Sugar daddies are a big thing now too apparently. Rich and lonely desperate guys, mostly old dudes, pay big money just to have some young eye candy to flaunt on their arm in public. As for feeling bad for these girls..well some come from legit bad homes, daddy issues, sexually abused at a young age. Many lost their virginity at a very young age before they were fully mentally and emotionally prepared. So in some cases you might feel bad. Overall it is what it is I guess. @debluvscanucks once made a comment about knowing someone who stripped to pay their way through school. She basically argued that a traditional model was still selling her body and that it was no different than stripping. @Alflives
  21. Really time flies I guess, they say future years feel further away than past years or something like that. I bombed 11th grade math, had to take summer school.. Thanks for bringing up a bad memory.
  22. TMZ Sports will get it first before the NFL does..
