  1. Shite yeah I forgot about the waivers, agreed with the rest though but I guess he could just be a healthy scratch and practice with the team to get out systems down first but maybe that's me just being, well whatever but he's got tons of talent, but in the head as far as confidence goes is another matter that can take down or slow down the curve. I just want him set up for the best chance to succeed, I'm just not a fan of sink or swim but if it has to be that, easing him in with a life jacket as in slow as possible with just practicing but whatever, I just want the best for both sides.
  2. Ghost! Stop that! This is vancouver, you know logic doesn't fly very well here ffs! No it doesn't mean he's going to excel at the NHL level but after watching his highlights on YouTube, he reminds me of Kuz, except bigger. Sure he needs development but he's only 23 and should be a easy one, skating and learning to cycle with good timing, would be a game changer for him, he needs some confidence and best to start him off in Abby and work that up. Not sure throwing him into the shark tank right away is a good idea, why not let him get some more reps in Abby and see how he does?
  3. Ok so YOU put yourself in his place, I'm the same circumstances as him and tell me what you'd do, and you can't get around all the things he couldn't because of MG's plans. Did JB do everything right? Of course not but no GM in history has plus we lost so much cap space with covid especially when we needed it as much as, if not more right at the most important time in franchise history on top of it all but let's hear how you would have done. I've done this before and never once have I gotten a answer but maybe you'll surprise me by at least trying. And fans? Omfg that's hilarious!! 2 points on that one, first they fall for what the media tells them and primarily without fact checking Second, a frackin riot? Over a game ffs? I can't even fathom that... One can argue it was all fans and id agree with that to some point but there were a LOT of jerseys along with regular clothed people, and break that down by a fan is someone more than a hockey jersey but that still leaves fans losing their chit over us losing.. And any notion of pushing the envelope of buying a roster without depth? And expect some different outcome? That's funny!
  4. You lost me at the few couple of sentences, JB did not and does not, nor any GM in history can circumvent contract law and was left aoy of players locked in for years and next to no picks or prospects in the system AT ALL! And 2012 roster was destroyed, physically and more importantly mentally but that's what He and We were stuck with! Question? did you actually see 2012 and what was left of that roster and the shape of it? That run we were relatively unscathed where other teams had key injuries and then against Boston, that changed and that's what killed us, we had a great roster but no depth to step in and my point is this is nothing new since day one of this franchise! Lol So back to JB, he was handed a 2 tiered job and stupid people don't get that. 1, keep fans in the seats 2. Rebuild the team over years because of all the locked in contracts that MG left him. And I'll point out another, Canada is NOT the destination of choice, LA NY etc are and we aren't, in fact there's a no trade to Canada clause that agents came up with for players not wanting to. Oh wait... Another one, blatantly obvious, our taxes! I can keep going if you like, yeah actually I will, worst fans and media in the entire NHL by a country mile, prove it? Omfg! That funny, hey I know, and this started a long time ago.. hey everyone, let's demand a one and done cup! YEAH!! Don't build it though, why the F would we do that because clearly buying one without depth should do it! Oh wait, it hasn't worked in over 40 years BUT (it might!) Ok let's go there and stay there even if it won't ever work! Are you kidding me? Do you see the bullshi_ in that? And this is the Vancouver Canucks franchise in a nutshell plus more but I won't get into more because I'm sure you get it by now but think JB could have done more is ludicrous but whatev
  5. Kill it!!! (Agreed). Lots of those around..
  6. Do you know anything about hockey at all? Doesn't look like it, know anything about the Vancouver franchise, ownership, GM's, Coaches, Draft picks, and fans from day 1? Probably not either... Typical, just typical.. go read some more media b.s. and get back to me, could always use a good laugh!
  7. You know what Phil, I don't know wtf happened but I can't remember who we played shortly after Bruce arrived, we played almost as if we were in the run we went on last season when we played quick simple passes to forwards who were back and making themselves open, we forechecked well and with decent speed and causes turnovers we capitalized on, we hit when we needed to, attacked during PK's and pressured well instead of standing around looking stupid and get getting scored on lots. And on the PP we scored and the whole team was as in sync as I've seen since 2011 and 94 and it was encouraging to say the least and I thought to myself, omfg, with a cpl of tweaks and develop some depth we could be a top 10 team!!! I was cautiously stoked for once.. and then it happened, the wheels fell off, and it was like we played like we played under Travis when he lost the room by a few reasons and not keeping it simple with new guys and depth guys coming in, which I think Bruce really brought out in us but yeah losing Demko and Mik and a slew of D injuries at the start of the season surely didn't help our cause either maybe it was a host of reasons but ever since, the forwards aren't getting back and usually over commit the wrong way and not being a easy simple pass target, our whole team hesitating instead of easy quick passes and trying to force it, not really any pressure on the PK and still trying to be fancy instead of sending a net presence for a screen and pass it back to D for a screen shot. I guess the whole team is playing just playing bad positionally with bad decisions/taking to long with passes is killing us, and leading to penalties as well.. Idk wtf is going on but we need to go back to "simple" We've had a constant turnstile of players in and out since 2012 which had to happen but that's when simplicity does it's best work and it's never been that way consistently for whatever reason but there's been flashes of it yeah, but I can't get why it's not become our go-to game until we have a roster set and depth and then I think it can be a little bit more wide open with a bit of Sedinery mixed in more but it's a mistake in my opinion to keep trying anything but, because when we do keep it simple, we play almost as good as anyone and we've beaten some of the leagues best when we play hard and keep it simple but idk what happened, I really don't. When I think about it, I think all Bruce had to do was exactly that, simple, keep it nothing but simple and keep it that way... until that actually happens, I'm not sure any coach can do much with this team if that keeps up.
  8. Well whatever but all we can do is hope he keeps it up especially playing with someone other than Petey on another line or something.. I'd just like "something" to go right for a change instead of being so bleak..
  9. Well with bad hands as you say, he's doing pretty well finding the back of the net for us so far.. I think it took YH a lot more time to get there than Beauv, when YH was in the same boat, he got caught out of position so many times it made me want to rip my hair out! Of course he got better at it but seems to me Beauv has better hands albeit not by a lot but the smallest amount can mean a lot more goals
  10. P.S. If you think the problem lies with one GM then who at least TRIED to buck the bullshi_ and fill the seats, try and build a team after it being left a absolute destroyed team with a roster full of locked in contracts then your as much of an idiot as the one and done crowd mentality. Again, ask yourself how far that ever got us before JB came along? Have you got the balls to think about it for a minute and come to the logical conclusion or are you just as stupid as those folks who think a depthless roster is going to win anything?
  11. He did the best with what he had and it was a far worse train wreck before that, this franchise has been a absolute joke! I'm not even sure which is worse, the fan base it the franchise... My guess is the fans, a lot to stupid to look at the big picture of what it's been like, sell the farm for a depthless roster for one cup and scream for it like lil kids in a play ground if it's not done! Where exactly did that get us? How many cups do we have? Whatever... Unbelievable stupidity that never ceases to amaze me yet we seem to think some genius GM is going to come in and not bow to idiocy of that kind of thinking.
  12. I can see tempers flaring, especially these days when stupidity rules from the owner all the way down. This franchise has turned into a complete joke X10 worse than it's ever been. Really disheartening to be a fan these days.. to say the least... I can't even describe it any more, way beyond words!
  13. I finally stopped laughing, everyone on the whole f'n team has been that way, and being put out against top lines and your goalies pretty much suck, the +/- for anyone would drop like a rock. Anyone thinking the whole team would be doing better than we are now without a healthy Demko on his game, out of the line-up for as long as he has been, is sadly mistaken. Add to that, the top paid D-men in the league have top forwards who play D well is ANYTHING but us. Our D from our forward core is next to useless and how the F can you compare that exactly? Can RT turn it around? Maybe, he's at least addressing it, calling out the entire team for fitness, battle, etc that is next to impossible to consistently win games in any league if your not good at it and I've been bitching about it for as long as I can remember. Are we going to make trades for players who are actually really good at D the forward position? I certainly hope or it's a LOT more of the same ole.. blaming one player? Omg that started me laughing hard, typical... Why? Because that's how we roll in Vancouver, scapegoat capital of the NHL News Flash.. winning and losing is a team effort or not either way, how easily we seem to forget that.
  14. That's never going to happen unless (for the zillionth time) build a team with depth for once, if we keep trying to buy a roster and no depth as always.. a cup is nothing but a dream that's not going to happen.
  15. This surprises you Daz? It shouldn't, new management is horrible! Other than once, when he said a Demko save "jacked him up" That was b.s., a millionaire should be jacked just to step on the ice making THAT kind of bling to do something you love to do, not HAVE to do. Other than that, he was great for us! I just wish him the best and hope he does great in long island. Sure I'm sad not to see him in blue and green but that's hockey fan life right? The only thing I'm happy about now is we have somewhat of a hard a$$ coach to push our guys hard and get better effort than we've seen so far this season and hopefully it becomes the norm. Will it? Your guess is as good as mine but let's hope so..
  16. Oh yeah, big-time, it's ALL about clickbait, and not a lot of fact checking.. That was a very good point, good on ya! I miss those days too...
  17. I agree on Boeser, soft and useless on his D game. When he started to play better for awhile there, I'd have traded him for a D prospect and saved cap there too. Actually if JT picks it up again, He can still be traded as well before the TDL but only for D imo but his attitude lately hasn't been helping us any.. all he had to do was mimic last year or somewhat close to it... Sigh... It never ends lol
  18. Looks to me like 3 guys drinking their own b.s. cool-aid.. How can this be solved? Idk, FA sells the team, new owner fires all 3, gets a new GM who can actually build a team for once, we build a contender and being a Canucks fan is fun again... (I know, I know) One can dream though right?
  19. No and not anytime soon, I don't trust a bonehead that doesn't wait and see how much better a return for Horvat could have brought closer to the TDL than a month, he should have waited at least another 2 weeks ish A conditional draft pic? Wtf was that all about? If the Isles pick it up next season and that pick could either drop or rise depending how they do but how the F can this team afford to risk that? Unbelievable... So not impressed with either JR or AL at all! This keeps up and a cup run? NO and not anytime soon either! Good grief..
  20. Boes still has some time to get back into his groove and no retaining necessary. Trading Schenner? Not something we need to do and we'd miss his toughness a lot more than people think. And we can keep Myers and let one of the league's best ex Dmen help him get back on track so we can get a decent return on him without retaining anything, especially with the price on D going up. In Gonchar I trust.. Thankfully we might go the actual "build" route for a change but I'll believe it when I see it BUT there's a lot of stupid fans and media out there who would hate that route but look where NOT doing it has got us in the last 40+ years.. Would I care if we sucked for another cpl of seasons if we finally got on the build for a contender every year for a legit shot? Nope but whatever..
  21. Recently I bought a storage locker, started to go through it and stepped back into June 26/2009 and found a perfectly kept copy of the province news paper that kind of surprised me and brought back a flood or 22/33 memories..
  22. Anyway, whatever, we just signed Kuz so there's a bright spot!
  23. In YOUR "opinion" and if you actually know shi* which I doubt... Especially since he carried the team last season before everything went sideways, easy to lose a bit of heart when your the one showing up usually for almost every game. You'd lose some too the next season when the whole team can't be bothered to try hard with a few exceptions.
  24. It was a mess from day one of this franchise, don't kid yourself.. only a complete idiot would think otherwise, why? Simple, buying depthless rosters at the demand of fans has ALWAYS sank us, this is nothing new.
