i argue the fact that most people seem to think that baercheese is worth nothing now because of his injuries and other gm's won't want him but those same people won't apply the same principle to eddie and other gm's will ignore that and sign him for big dollars at a fairly long term.. Sorry but thats simply not realistic, like buying a Porsche with 300-400,000 kms on it and all banged up.. One look at the odometer would catch one's attention and only someone with large amounts of cash would even consider it but that's not the case in Eddie's situation since we're obviously in the salary cap era... I'm sure we'd all like to keep him but at a point why keep a money pit when you have other places to spend it i.e. petey, brock, and others as they come up...

You just spoke of a lot of players in the league but some teams could use sutter who happens to be a decent player especially on the D side of thing, Gran can easily be a good 3-4th line addition to teams as well. I do give you baer though, not a good example but worth a short term risk if his concussion series is over... Throw in a pick if necessary and get an upgrade on D in return, salary dump and a positional need in return could very well improve us.

Thing is, why not get rid of players who are just eating cap and not condusive to a rebuild? Like sutter granny and baer just for starters... there's no reason not to trade someone another team could use and i think JB is going to do whatever is posssible within his power to do so because sooner or later we will need all the cap we can get our hands on.. yeah probably later but salaries will go up later as well so getting it done sooner will help emensely and get the roster set for years without players in and out of the roster like it's been for too long now and actually have chemistry in 4 rolling lines for a change.

As true as that is, thats not saying a ton since or D was one of the worst out there. Thankfully JB is working on that, however we lost a lot of games by one goal again like the season before that and even a relatively reasonable upgrade should get us in the post without even forward upgrades but we need that badly if we want to go further than the first round and out.

Im not arguing his skill etc, im arguing his long list of injuries and he hasn't played a full season since 2015, if he wasn't so beaten up then i'd for sure say keep him but he's going in the same direction Salo did... sadly...
