The HOV lane on the highway should be open to everyone, there's never enough vehicles on it to warrant it's existance. Be nice for another lane and maybe, but probably not, make it a express lane for people heading out to at least Surrey to ease the congestion with only those getting off before the bridge across.. meh.. like that's ever going to happen...

Rumour has it, that salaries are dropping, fear of covid cap freeze is making players realize that there's a chance the cap might stay as it is for awhile, and if it does, no longer do teams have more money coming in to match salary raises as the cap rises as it does usually, with the long term contracts already in place, teams will be more picky on cheaper contracts and having more ELC's so I can see that happening.. arbitration with Jake might be in the Canucks favour if the market value of contracts drops. I suppose supply and demand scenario applies but the demand is capped but the supply isn't and more competition for it, seems to me that it can't help but happen.. Will it drop sharply enough as signings happen before the 28th to affect JV's projected 20 goal market value? No idea... but it's possible I guess, I remember the gas crash when covid started as the fear of lack of demand if the world was going to sit at home, was a trigger for it at the realization, same sort of thing, but I'd say it's still up in the air if people can't fill the seats, and when if it can return to normal but I don't see the cap rising at all until it happens, players are already signing for lower $ but question is.. how low will it go? And when? Interesting times...

You know, I think it's just lack of maturity but I also think he got read the riot act after the run was over, the exit speech, whatever they call it, so if he shows up like previously, show him the door in a trade or for a draft pick or something, if Jake's maturity level didn't rise from last year after going through finding out what kind of shape you have to be in.. would say it all..
-
By whom? Bo? Lol Bo tore into him pretty hard already... He might be first in line for it...
-
Ok so your JB and it's your decision what to do with shotgun Jake before Oct 28th, his salary arbitration date or after. I.E. do you wait and see, sign him and trade him OR do it before? Sign him and wait and see what kind of shape he shows up in training camp and how he performs? Would you give him a final shot on a one year show me more deal, to see if he can make top 6 or do you simply throw all the developing into the wind, use the cap elsewhere and give Hogs (ELC) a shot with Bo? Or offer him a bit less and make him a 3rd line guy IF he can pull it all together and play like a tank "consistently" Just scenario's and there are many more.. What call would you make?

Dude, have you seen the grey-ish snow there sometimes? It was worse polluted than Vancouver by FAR!! And it makes it dirty looking and you should see steel town just down the road from TO.. even worse... But that's what I mean by dirty besides the litter everywhere that's worse.. nothing like the California highways in some places but that's what I meant.. And I know Vancouver has its own just not as bad..

Yeah I don't see it either for a cpl of reasons, first, I think there's no chance of Hughes being paired without someone at least 6'4, you know what I mean and why, second, that gives us potential for a legit top 2 pairings which we need badly if we ever want another but longer trip to the big dance so we don't have to depend on a goalie standing on his head every game and be peppered for 40+ SOG, that's ridiculous. Think that's come to an end but see what happens right? However under some circumstances I can see it happening

Not percentage wise no but I've lived in Vancouver for 35 years and I've met almost every race I can think of, and they live here but Toronto offers big bucks so it's more enticing to immigrants and has been that way for a long time, but that's changing here, I've met more people who moved here from Toronto in the past few years than I've met ever in all the years I've been here but that's the left coast beauty and climate over the bigger dollars but they do ok here too..
-
Have you been to commercial drive lately? Or for the past 15 years? And yes that's true about Toronto but it's disgustingly dirty and cold, sorry to say that about the supposed center of the universe but I lived there and I hated it, couldn't get out of that dirty shi_hole fast enough... Add to that, for most people there, I'm thinking they took their daily dose of rudeness pills and walked out of their dwellings ready on full on nastyness alert.. I hate that place! Even the Tim Hortons employees were rude, I have a funny story about that but anyway, their the furthest away from being true Canadians that I've ever seen..

That shouldn't surprise you actually, most of the stupidity your reading here is coming from parrots who don't think for themselves, they just say exactly what the clueless clowns of the media sort and the $&!# they make up.. same ole $&!# every year... I guess some find it too difficult to think for themselves hey? Yes I'll say it again, I thought this would stop when JT proved my point of that by coming here and lighting it up better than anyone on the whole team but again, nothing new..

Oh? Where did you hear that from? I'm hoping JB keeps Tryamkin out of the fold until Seattle ED is over and then sign him for the season after if need be but I love that freight train, Brashear was the only guy like him on the team and boy do we miss that, even McSorley can attest to that action.. getting it on D is the best a fan can hope for...
-
And he doesn't have a injury record 2 miles long (Tanev) Nor a middling Stech who as much as I like him didn't fit into the plan of a big stay at home D or a offensive PMD. A top 4 D is harder to find that a top 6 forward (Toffoli) and we have a potential top 6 forward in Hoglander already waiting who needs experience so I don't see this as a surprise but I think Jim is done until training camp is over with a good look at how the other D is progressing, ala Rafferty, Chatfield, etc.. adding someone from the top 4 right off the farm is unlikely unless it's a phenom so it was a logical choice and kudo's to Jimbo to backload motte for a season to save cap and then sign Big Mac to a show me deal.. I'm not disappointed at all here... I just can't wait for all the rewards when the team really gets going but pretty happy about Schmidt arriving with his kind of experience? Perfect!

Lmao! Ummm I'm just pointing out that the trades that don't always produce in the points Dept but the value of bring taught the ropes by someone who knows is far more valuable than getting points if going to pay off long after the mentor is gone and we're getting to the end of needing it so much as we did when Sutter, Rousell, etc.. you just can't measure what the legacy that moves us further as a team together opposed to the EDM scenario with so much youth and not enough mentorship and look what happened there lol Sure you can echo the same ole chit as some others have said but this time you can mark my words that we're going to win a lot more games this year AND less shots on goal and the year after, more of it... If it doesn't, I'll happily take back every word, however when our books are clear, especially of the recapture of RL and LE gone with a core that's been taught on ice through mentors will be very tough to win against, that's the day I'm looking forward to. Trust me lol I won't melt..

First, had the cap risen the 5 to 8 million that was projected, Markstrom and Toffi would still be here.. And 2nd more importantly, those so called experts, that's a joke, every last one of them said the TJ Miller deal was a huge mistake by Benning, didn't that tell you something? You know, when I have time I read and listen to the comments coming from the media and I agree with about 5-10% of it, the rest is pretty laughable. Last week they said we were screwed, totally, because we lost Marky and Tanev, I commented on Marky, Tanev is the same, he's injury prone, and wanted a longer term but we definately don't want a guy his age with as many injuries as he's had, and again, more importantly, we need young guys stepping up instead of paying guys bigger money right now and for the next four years when we need to develop our picks anyway..
-
Well in reality, we didn't have to do a whole lot of signings in the first place except for the 2 he did, I can see the term on Markstroms contract for 4 years would have made me hesitant signing him then the money after next season when we have to sign Demko who obviously will be needing a good raise so I can see why JB let him walk, and past that, Petey and Hughes, and JB won't gamble on the cap going up. If I was JB in this situation, I'd do exactly the same thing and start using the farm despite anyone's idiocy of trying to do it any other way especially since the cap will probably remain flat and we have guys ready to step in under ECL's so we can keep having enough to spend on top players already here. I still can't get why people can't figure this out...
-
Did you forget the Seattle draft? Oh wait.. I'm the short sighted one here right? Smh..
-
What? So your telling me YOU would sign Tanev to a 4 year contract with his injury record? And you call Jimbo a dim wit? He signed Schmidt who is not only a very good Dman too but has an offensive side far better than Tanev, without the long history of injuries.. I suppose you think it was a bad idea by Jimbo too?
-
People usually forget the experience and mentor scenario's behind trades that don't just show on the ice in the future when it's long since forgotten.. Every one of our youth has a taste of the big show now, and that's got us a few steps ahead in the build which isn't ever done without it... Every team will be playing ELC's now and ours will be pretty damn good, can't wait to see Hogs on Bo's flank, and either JV is on it or gone, can still be traded after ARB or exposed in the draft I guess or 3rd line... Whatever... And next year Podz, excited to see that kid with another year under his belt.. Hogs Podz n Bo? Wow yes please!
