Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29

First paragraph, I do feel that some of his supporters are enthralled with his personality. Dressing up like him or their kids, tattoos, 50 bumper stickers on their car etc. To me it looks like like cult of personality, I have met people lthat had the same types of feelings for Hoxa, Nehru, Tito etc. I would like to see younger candidate win, Biden is over the hill and Sanders will be 79. The way to win is to attack the economy and that is going to be hard. Most people care about how is their 401k doing, or individual investments. Every single Union in Midwest as well as pension plan has money invested in stock market. Yes lot of people don’t have any investments so they might not care. Bernie will be portrayed as a guy that will destroy health care companies, go after Wall Street, big banks, big pharma, open borders, let felons vote, stop fracking, take your guns away, force Medicare on you etc. It doesn’t mean jack $&!# that some of those ideas are actually decent. Once the big boogie man comes out in form of socialism and comparison to USSR, Cuba, China etc. show is over. Your second paragraph is well thought out and looks like it was spoken from the heart, I have nothing to add to that. Last paragraph, Trump hard core supporters are motivated by fear, racism, hatred, intolerance against blacks, Mexicans, immigrants, Democrats etc. Their motivation is very primal, very different from ideals that motivate Sanders crowd. They don’t care what he says or does as long as he is sticking it to the libs. I live in a state where last Republican won electoral college 40 years ago, I do know lot of Trump voters. Very few can carry an intelligent conversation to explain why they voted for him. -

Very loyal, their reddit page is crazy, no other candidate has that kind of following. Not even Trump, it’s very cult like. -
Yes to both, but I have met plenty of open racist way before Trump and social media. I don’t think they were hiding anything.

People have always been racist, before, during and after Trump. He didn’t invent racism, just look at your own back yard in 20th and 19th century.

I can’t speak for CNN, but in some of these cases Sanders had to personally intervene. I decided to check our Sanders reddit section since they have 400k plus members and it’s quite a place. No other candidate has that kind of following. -

I wasn’t joking, I have looked his pass votes/initiatives/proposals and nothing that I saw really jumped at me. Just another “outsider” that spent his life in politics. He was unable to pass single payer healthcare in tiny, white, Democrat run state. But somehow I am supposed to believe that he will do that for a country of 330 million. What I see is two angry old demagogues, screaming how they will protect workers and fight the establishment. Whilst their nut hugging base is getting wood every time they hear them talk. -

I didn’t have a chance to look through all those amendments that you listed, but I will take your word for it. Bernie did vote against defense of marriage act in 1996 but he did so because he believed federal government has no right to impose decisions onto states. He voted against Brady bill in 1993 for universal gun checks and against the ability of citizens to sue gun manufacturers in 2006. My main sticking point is that 80 year old career politician that spent his life on government teat is some sort of an outsider. Besides being too old, he is as divisive as Trump and I don’t think he can or will win. Modern day McGovern imo, today even Lindsey Graham and Eric Trump were tweeting positive about him. I wonder why, I am not the only one that thinks he can’t win, plenty of others do as well. Now we can dismiss these people as part of the “establishment” but I don’t think they are wrong. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/bernie-sanders-beat-donald-trump-2020-obama-campaign/story?id=62455986 https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/02/04/chris_matthews_bernie_sanders_is_not_going_to_be_president_im_not_happy_with_this_field.html https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/01/bernie-sanderss-biggest-challenges/605500/ https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/31/opinion/bernie-sanders-campaign.html https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/01/bernie-sanders-electable-trump-2020-nomination-popular-socialism.html -

What has Sanders done in his long political career to actually help people of this country, from legislative point of view? What positive change he brought on large scale? Lip service, oposing this and that, protesting, filibustering etc. doesn't count. Couldn't even get medicaid for all passed in Vermont. -

I am not going to waste time on the two articles, i will let Sanders campaign speak for it. Bernie Sanders distances himself from 'dumb' 1972 essay on rape https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2015/05/28/politics/bernie-sanders-rape-essay-1972/index.html Sanders is political demagogue, that has talked "bigly" all his life but has little to show for. Career politician that belongs to dreadful 1% in America. From his days at marxist kibbutz to his life long love affair with communist nations. Campaining for Socialist Workers Party in the U.S, praising Soviets, Cubans etc. The bottom line, he praised China for lifting millions out of poverty, too bad it was capitalism that did that. Western europe today is not the same place as it was in the 70s, social programs have been drastically reduced. Forcing people on medicaid or rent control is something that free market doesn't do plus I am not even getting into how much all free stuff would cost and who would pay for it. BS has talked about how bad things are since the 60s, while his country is still global power number 1. Just another guy full of utopian ideas that will never come to a fruition, vote for him in the primaries is vote for Trump.
