  1. Very unpopular. Maybe as a PP QB I'd grant you, but he doesn't get enough credit defensively - he's improved by leaps & bounds. He's escapes pressure & gets the puck up-ice unlike anyone I've ever seen. It goes under the radar but is such an asset for the team.
  2. Frankly, insane # as a defenseman. Should probably use him more even when Hughes is playing. Its a different look & competition that should improve Hughes.
  3. Maybe its a lack of confidence in his shot but its not always about trying to beat the goalie. As OEL shows
  4. I'm really hoping he can learn that skill. Its really his only issue - getting pucks through. And OEL is a pro at it so no better teammate to learn from.
  5. On the PP goal; Hughes is my fav player, but he never would've thrown it on net that quickly. Its one of OEL's real strengths, hopefully Huggy can take learn that from him.
  6. Has he really been that bad? I think he's had a good season. Not playing on the PP hurts his point totals tho he's definitely got more to give. Defensively he's been a reliable big minute guy. I think he gives us a nice 1-2 combo, now figure out partners for him & QH.
  7. Posted this in another thread, figured I'd bring it over to the right spot;
  8. I agree. Even with an average PK under Green this is a playoff team. I guess it depends who you include in 'core guys', I like the pieces here aswell but I do think we need a shake up - mainly turning a forward asset like Garland or Boeser into a youngish (or similar aged) top 3D. Then getting rid of some deadweight & adding some muscle to the supporting cast, as you say.
  9. It is a tricky situation. We absolutely can't take steps back into a 're-build' & have the locker room disgruntled again like after the Markstrom/Tanev/Toffoli departures. And we also cannot let Miller walk for nothing. If they sign the Zibanejad deal its going to be an anchor at some point. I think you either need to get something that's favorable for the team, or move him while his value is still sky high - that means a resolution in the summer. I'm not sold trading him is the best bet but we also gotta be wary about saddling ourselves with a boat anchor & limiting our window. I agree with aGENT that trading him =/= rebuild. If you get a young NHL ready player in the deal then things can look pretty good very quickly. Look at how quickly Suzuki materialized for MTL, or how Tuch/Theodore were impact players for Vegas right away. (Krebs in Buffalo is looking the same). If we trade Miller getting that type of piece is paramount, then the other assets can be developed as futures or flipped. It can't be just lottery tickets that leave us 2-3 years away.
  10. No Rathbone tonight sucks. Excited to see OEL take on the top role, and cheering for the young players to do well. (Podz/Lockwood specifically) Hopefully its a fun game & we win.
  11. Definitely a dive going from what felt like an improbable comeback to now cooling off & hitting the skids. There was alot of fun times this season but bookended by immense disappointment. This team should've been in the playoffs.
  12. I'm actually not cynical about this. They are all rich assholes, or influenced by rich assholes. Big tech companies have had issues with questionable censorship, hopefully that's where he can lend influence. But who knows, they are all rich assholes after-all.
