  1. I think the Miller trade will age fine so long as he doesnt walk away for nothing.
  2. Good ratings, personally I have it; 6-3-6 8-4-5 4-7-7 --------- 18W - 14L - 18D He got better as time went along. Best trade was Miller Worst trade... Gudbranson or Forsling
  3. Pop punk in general has a similar blueprint imo (I say this as a 25yr old who grew up in this era, loves the genre & all these bands). Simple Plan has a bit of a unique sound due to their incredible vocalist. Derrick of Sum41 (again, who I love) has more intensity than SP. If anything I'd compare them (atleast in tone) to another Canadian band from Aldergrove; Gob
  4. Damn this truly feels like classic Simple Plan (& classic pop-punk more broadly). I like it
  5. This year's team really has a lovable underdog type thing going for it.
  6. I think it's time to move forward. The blockades are not good by any stretch but it also seems like the tide has shifted as far as pro-lockdown / anti lock down to around 50/50 (atleast). (And we are the most 'progressive'/socialist province imo) The effects of our response overall are going to be long lasting; mental health issues sky rocketing (who know the long term implications, certainly [atleast] future suicides to some degree), inflation putting further burden on future working class (good luck owning a home, as if it was possible now), de-legitimation of the Charter, and.trust in govt / institutions on the decline (not all bad). Exc. The restriction were very legitimate at one point, but now no longer imo (Also sorry to those I didn't get back too in previous conversations, this issue gives me horrible anxiety)
  7. Its a great point. When OEL's on the PP it feels like he's the only shooting option. Miller is more a playmaker & Horvat on his off wing isn't a great option. If you put Miller on the far side & Petey in the one-timer spot - well he doesn't always shoot either. Hughes is incredible but I'd say his biggest weakness is getting shots through traffic (which is a problem since the other options don't shoot enough), and that just happens to be OEL's biggest strength. Its hard to demote Hughes, but its something to consider. At the very least OEL provides a different skillset than Quinn (less agility to walk the line, arguably quicker puck movement, better shot) so maybe its worth switching it up here & there.
  8. I actually think Myers is having his best year as a Canuck
  9. Wow for once I agree with Drance. Played is totally in his right to go where he wants in his time off, unfortunate thing is Covid not the player enjoying his time off.
  10. Didn't even realize there was a game on until my friend text me the score. I'm out of the loop. 1st one was bad, leaky 2nd he didn't really have a chance on 3rd a screen but could've been more squared up. Gunna be tough from here on out, Isles are a decent team.
  11. Especially since he could influence Cammi & what kind of ideas she might bring to the table. (Of course we would never know that transparently but its certainly possible) Little shocked to see this news, but pretty happy about it. Another cool move by JR.
  12. It's true. But atleast there is a bottom line with Chiasson, and when he's on he can bring an element like puck possession down-low that can help a line. Hunt I agree, haven't been very impressed by him & unlike Chiasson haven't really seen anything to mitigate the issues.
  13. You know, Chiasson is actually having a pretty decent year for a league minimum guy. If he hits double digits in goals thats pretty good.
  14. I'm glad atleast some enjoyment has come from this !
  15. Yeah no doubt. Especially for a player with a career 0.5 PPG prior, I don't think anyone expected this little production. It's been such an odd year that in OELs case I think I'm willing to excuse the lack of production (and since he has been good otherwise). Next year I'll be expecting more, maybe not 0.5 PPG, but 30 points shouldn't be too hopeful for someone of his skill level.
  16. I'm earnestly not trying to hand-wave long Covid away - it would be inhumane to suggest it's not an issue - but the recovery rate is undeniably a dead relevant data point in the bigger picture. And imo especially so when you consider we have atleast in effect disregarded charter rights to some degree.
  17. The speed & size is there. If he had a bit more to give skill-wise he could be extremely effective but alas. Maybe someone would still take a chance on him if we took back a similar contract. Ideally something akin to the Gudbranson / Pearson move.
  18. Agreed. And Tyler Myers having his best season here is no coincidence.
