I really think we are spinning our tires here. Fully vaccinated have overtaken unvaxxed in cases & hospitalizations - even with 100% vaccination rate hospitals are still going to have problems, people are still going to be getting sick, having long term problems, exc.
I'm not trying to get into a debate about the vaccines, its just clear there's still going to be issues regardless of being at 90% or 100%. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the end of the pandemic as we all hoped when we thought they could stop the spread.
I think we should shift our focus & resources to early treatment. It can help people of all ages/vulnerabilities, aswell as help the strain on hospitals if people weren't left to lay in bed w/o treatment options until they struggle to breathe. Aswell psychologically people could feel better knowing if they get it they can be treated back to health quickly.
A couple things I've come across with promising results are Bamlanivimab & Fluvoxamine.
