They are 2nd class citizens. Just barring them from gyms alone is a potentual health problem, plus the mental health problems that come along with social isolation & not being able to enjoy things with friends Then there's also restricting travel (planes/trains) where they can't even move freely within the country (see family?).
It's insanity. Like you say, it's 10%. At any point prior to the mandate we would've all taken 90% of the pop vaccinated gladly.
If I told you in 2019 you would gladly cheer on segregation & coerced injection of an expidited product (nvm the mass hysteria) I would've been consider Alex Jones 2.0 and dismissed.
I'm not pretending the virus isn't serious, but god willing if Omicron turns out to be less deadly (as we are all praying) it would be nice to take stock of what we've done, go back to seeing people as humans rather than through the prism if hysteria, & try to move back to normalcy.
The battle was lost at the beginning when the health authorities didn't push an extremely intense multi-month lockdown to isolate & potentially eliminate the virus. Theyve pushed the vaccines full force with extreme success (which has been good), but judging by that I think they could've pushed a more intense lockdown, it could've saved lives & alot of time.
I'm tired of being conditioned to hate my neighbor.
Then why are we setting records for cases??? If this reduced transmission we wouldn't be setting records. It doesn't seem to be translating to the real world.
UVD can't workout at gyms, or join recreational sports leagues. Thats legitimately detrimental to people's health physically, nevermind the social aspect or being unable to travel. And some have lost their jobs.
You see malevolence manifesting in the Maritimes (New Brunswick?) where unvaxxed can be banned from grocery stores - while other highly vaxxed provinces are simultaneously setting case records - and at some point a line needs to be drawn.
I'd like to get back to a society where we don't show papers to move freely, and can view others as human beings rather than our view of the status on their paper. I don't think that's an unreasonable goal, but it seems like we are trending towards showing our papers & taking our pharmaceuticals forever.
