  1. I hope Zegras & Broberg are both gone, leaving Boldy available for us.
  2. Not a huge fan. Zaitsev is probably more of a #4/5. As much as the TO media wants to make it seem like itll be easy for the leafa to move him, that term makes the contract an anchor. At most id take him for free. Certainly wouldn't give up assets.
  3. Decent. Hes more mobile than Edler for sure. I like that comparison more than Tanev.
  4. I'd say Broberg is better/more involved offensively from what I've seen. I can see him scoring 30 points, maybe 40+, but don't see him in that 50-60+ range basically.
  5. I'm just going off what I've watched. I read some concerns but when I watched him he was a good defender, especially good one on one. Good in his own zone & can move the puck up. I guess I heard low IQ comments & was expecting to see that but he's actual a pretty smart player in the defensive zone. He rushes the puck, but I wouldn't call him a rover like Hughes. Broberg's strength is skating & defending. Offensive ability is limited as far as projecting him to be an elite player. But he's not worse than average. He's got a decent shot & the wheels to get up in the play. He's just not very creative & it shows especially in his rushes.
  6. Im coming around more on Broberg. Partially because I think Benning likes him & will take him if hes available. So part of it is bracing for 'disappointment', I suppose. But at the same time I think hes a good top 4 D prospect. I dont see a ton of risk b/c his defensive game is really strong, but I also dont see a massive ceiling b/c his offensive game is limited. His tools are great, which makes him so intriguing. Maybe he could be a Bouwmeester/Klefbom type #2/3D is kinda my thought.
  7. Yes. Read right past that part of his post. My bad.
  8. Shouldnt have to give up anything to CBJ if hes a UFA. And no matter who we sign it should affect who we take at #10.
  9. I think youd have to go 7 years on Panarin to get him away from NYR and FLA.
  10. DeBrincat wasnt a burner either & hes done just fine.
  11. His skating 'concerns' are becoming overrated imo. He gets around the ice fine.
  12. They should be looking at taking on a 'bad' contract. This team needs assets badly & we have the cap space to do it.
  13. I cant see that getting it done. The concencus from Toronto media seems to be that they could get Kapanen on a team friendly bridge deal. They might use him to help dump a bad contract, otherwise if they deal him Id imagine it would be a hockey deal to improve their team.
  14. 2nd pick seems fair to me. That could be the difference between Byram/Dach/Turcotte & Krebs/Soderstrom or whomever. Would suck to not have a 2nd, but if they could move Sutter or someone & get another 2nd Id do it. Not really apart from size. Boldys faster/better skater. More of a goal scorer. Vilardi is probably closer to Dach, but Dach is probably faster too.
  15. Might require taking on Marleau or Zaitsev. But agree Kapanen would be a great fit for us. Would love to get him.
  16. The rationale would be the player you take with the pick has more upside. First of all, I dont think a team would give up a 1st for Gaudette. But lets say your offered 20th or 21st overall & Seider is still on the board, are you not making that move? Youd have to atleast strongly consider it.
  17. Yup. Getting into must win territory now. Gotta get the split in GS.
  18. Its all about keeping up. The Raptors are a better defensive team, there is no question. Can they keep up to Golden State's offense? If they hit 2 more shots tonight it could be 2-0 right now. They can beat this team, they just gotta shoot better
  19. Freds body was clearly ahead of Curry's body so idk how it can't be a clean path
  20. They had a chance to get right back in it & couldn't quite take advantage.
