  1. This thread isnt the only place the idea of trading up has been floated. Its been talked about in the other thread, twitter, on the radio, exc. And Juolevi's name has been brought up. But im putting that out there here b/c there are much better players available at 4 than 10, and more than 1. It will take signifcant adding to get that pick. More than just Demko & Virtanen or Hutton imo.
  2. I really like the idea of moving up to get Byram but I am a little hesitant moving Juolevi. Giving up a good top 4 D prospect + the player we can get at 10 for a better top 4 d prospect.. is that worth it for a rebuilding team? Juolevi's value is low right now, if he plays in the NHL next season his value will be much better.
  3. Boldy is more than just a finisher. Hes smart in the Ozone. Can retrive pucks & make plays. I see him as the Landeskog type to Colorado's star fwds. I think he could fit like that with our stars Pete & Boes.
  4. I like the idea of trading up for Byram. The name I keep coming back too with him (if everything goes right) is Morgan Rielly. And he might not be that far away either. Just comes down to what we have to add w/ 10th OV to get him. The one piece im hesitant to give up on would be Olli Juolevi. Because he could still be a good top 4 D. So is it worth giving up a top 4D & the player we'll get at 10 for another (albeit better) top 4D in Byram.
  5. Boldys skating 'concerns' are being overrated imo. Ill take IQ & average speed over a guy whos fast & doesnt think the game well like Virtanen. If you want speed with Pettersson, the speed pick would be Zegras. But I dont think he'd be as good a fit because he plays to the perimeter, doesnt have a great shot & is a pure playmaker.
  6. The hates brewing, this one has gotten chippy. Looking for a better game from both teams in G2.
  7. This ones over. Niether team has looked particularly great for most the game. Smith making all those big saves has just kept giving Calgary the momentum.
  8. Yeah she knows the game which is the important part for me. Does a really good job analyzing.
  9. Boston College has had alot of NHLers go through there recently. Colin White, Hanifin, Gaudreau, Hayes, Tuch, exc. I wasn't as big on Wahlstrom last year personally, agree to disagree on Wall-e / BC. Yeah I really want to see how Newhook compares, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I see him as next tier after our pick, but this tournament will be a good time to assess these guys head to head. Excited to see other prospects too including Krebs for Canada. Then Soderstrom/Broberg & of course the USNTDP guys.
  10. Not everyone's cup of tea as I found out earlier in this thread, but I like Campbell too. And that first video of Edler running Smith over in Arizona is classic. Smith flopped out pretty good on the one earlier this year.
  11. Its ironic they are talking about Grubauer "creating something that isn't there", anybody see who's in goal for the Flames tonight??
  12. I don't think Wahlstrom was as good as people thought. Great shot but lacked in other areas. Really interested to see how Newhook does at u18's assuming he doesn't get cut again for whatever reason. Also from what I've heard there's alot of hype about Spencer Knight, potentially the best prospect since Price. (or I guess Jack Campbell....) Hard to say, but I wouldn't be surprised if they liked Boldy. I'd think 2-3. Send him back to the SHL next year, then see where he's at the year after. Fact he's already playing regularly in the SHL is encouraging as far as timeline.
  13. Probably not the same elite potential, but Matthew Boldy. Has size like Rantanen + skill/hands, smarts & a good shot. Rantanen was a 10th pick himself, people probably didn't see him becoming this good when he was drafted.
  14. They had a glorious opportunity getting that PP with 3 mins left. Had the goalie pulled for part of it too & they kept trying to force shots through.
  15. JT's the big key in this series for Trana. He's the biggest addition on either team from last year.
