  1. I've been on a one-game-at-a-time mood since the loss to Detroit so while this one hurts, I'll be enjoying each of the rest of the games for sure.
  2. I believe that technically (even though it's low probability), the Canucks can still catch Edmonton, Nashville and Dallas.
  3. They didn't help us with Vegas as well. But hey, they're still meeting the Stars and the Predators again. The most important thing is that they lose to us as well.
  4. I guess having been with Dallas last year means he knows everyone's tendencies so well?
  5. a) The first thing to answer is that is there truly such a thing as "good" and "evil"? If so, who dictates that? If the world truly evolved from randomness, then why should there be good/evil or even suffering? b) The background for this question is presumably: if God is all powerful, then why couldn't God have done what God needed to do earlier? One thing to note here is that Jesus is supposed to be God (and fully man) as well. He seemed to have no issues with God's all-powerfulness. His answer seems to be less of "why" and more of "what am I supposed to do about it right now?" What I heard is that humans were given this free will powerful enough to impact all of Creation, and it's not really free will unless the Creator has to put constraints on the world and on himself. c) When Jesus came, most of the people in Israel wanted him to save them from the Romans. According to the gospels, Jesus disagreed with this and said that was was really ailing humans is this evil in each person's heart that apparently is like a disease (virus). d) I believe out of all the main religions, Christianity is the only one who claims that its founder resurrected. e) I guess we'll find out. f) Apparently, he's not just a representative. He's God's only son. I guess God really loved humans and there was no other way other than with Jesus' sacrifice...
  6. I'm probably not understanding my emoji's, but why would the Canucks use a grimacing face emoji ?
  7. Just curious - in your dream, how many positions from the number 32 spot did Podkolzin get us?
  8. When Bo's playing with confidence, it's so easy to see in his facial expression. This may be weird to say, but his expression actually reminds me of Getzlaf a bit.
  9. Even with Petey's slow start, at 0.82 PPG, he's already past his 0.8 PPG from last year. Just insane how hot he has been.
  10. Interesting. There are only 8 East teams with a positive goal differential, and they are all in the playoffs. In the West, there are also only 8 teams with a positive goal differential, and 2 of them are not in the playoffs: Vegas and Vancouver. Both names start with a 'V'. Hmm... :P

The East is a lot more lopsided than the West.

  11. I've been on a game-to-game basis myself since the Detroit loss. So far, it has been fun. I hope the Canucks win out - it will make Rutherford's job tougher this summer as to what to do as far as extend or trade, but if he lives up to this reputation as Trader Jim, then he should be able to get more value.
  12. No, I'm aware that we have a chance and it may be higher than what the prognosticators are saying. But if we go 9-0, it's not 100 percent chance as @Elias Pettersson said it was for us to make it to the playoffs.
  13. Are you sure??? Vegas is currently not in playoff position so I'm not even going to look at them. Let's look at LA. LA is 6 points ahead of us, but we have one game in hand. So let's say we need to make up 4 points. We are only meeting them once more so even if we run the table, we could still be 2 points back of them. I'm pretty sure we need help to make the playoffs.
  14. I don't think that's true. I thought we need help for the other teams in front of us to lose their games - for example, Dallas is ahead of us 4 points and we only meet them one more time so even if we go 9-0, if they win the rest of their games except for the one against us, they will still finish ahead.
  15. Podkolzin's showing his high hockey IQ in this game. It looks like the NHL game's slowing down for him now.
  16. Craziness! Even after that terrible start, for the season, Petey is now at a 0.80 ppg pace - which is the same as his pace last year. His offense is clearly back. And now that he has added very good penalty killing to his skills, it's safe to say that he is better than ever.
  17. Peace, @Locke Lamora. If every Canuck maximized their talent like Bo has, the Canucks would have won the Stanley Cup by now. This was a guy who many so-called draft experts said was never going to amount to more than just being a third line center, can't skate, has no offense, etc. When we traded an All-Star, young goaltender in Schneider for him, that was roundly balleyhooed as a terrible trade by many hockey experts and even guys in this forum. I believe he took all of those criticisms to heart and just decided to show all of those critics how wrong they are about him. That's the Bo I know and love. What I saw in the bubble was a Bo who could carry the team on his shoulders. Now it may be he was really sick during that time when he wasn't doing well (and I haven't heard him say that so my bad), but unfortunately, he's the Team Captain, and if that's how the Coach wants to light a fire in him, then that's part of the job description. And as you pointed out, look at how he has turned it around! What would be even more legendary than the Bubble performance is if this team somehow managed to make the playoffs after that horrendous start (where Bo was one of the few forwards who managed to be productive). But as much as JT has been the main producer, I'm old school and think that it always starts with the Captain.
  18. I think you need to read my posts again. Didn't I tell you to compare his great performance now with then? Didn't I tell you that I liked Bo? All I was saying was that when Boudreau called him out during that time, it was justified. As I said, I believe I think of Bo more highly than you do. My standards for him are high.
