  1. So I guess LASTNAME for today's game is Megna.

  2. A genius combined Marshawn's 'Beast Quake' run with the iguana clip from Planet Earth: http://www.seattlepi.com/sports/article/Marshawn-Beast-Quake-run-Planet-Earth-iguana-10760658.php

      Lost it there.

  3. Oh no! Earl Thomas out indefinitely with a broken leg and contemplating retirement...

In my opinion the best defensive player to ever suit up for the seahawks

Stecher-like. Undersized, high IQ, full octane.

  4. In a "show me your manho...I mean, mettle" game, this is a game where the Win-Now fan says things like "this team has the character to make noise in the playoffs" whereas the Help-Needed fan says things like "we're in trouble".

  5. Proof that other Canadian teams' fans can also be very harsh on their own teams - some gems from Flames' fans about Burkie's comments describing Dougie Hamilton as "skates like a deer": http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=158448 : "maybe he meant 'dear'"; picture of Bambi slipping on the ice; etc.

Yeah I used to sTROLL over to their  feces frenzy, pretty ugly stuff.  Living in cowtown you get to hear  some hilarious stuff xD.

I visited them when they lost their first few games of the season, and so many of them pretty much gave up on the season. Imho, their biggest mistake is they really need to get better goaltending and they didn't, but oh well, nmp (not my problem).

  6. I completely agree. To my untrained eye, the biggest thing I see from Bo is more consistency at both ends. Last year, it seems that he would have flashes where he would dictate his will on both ends (e.g., helping prevent a shot on D by anticipating the other team's positioning and then carrying the puck all the way to the other side and creating a decent scoring chance) followed by a lot of him just reacting (e.g., as soon as his man passes the puck, he spends a second or two looking around while in the meantime, his man has already gotten open and a scoring chance for the other team ensues; or he would just try to bull his way straight to the net with a D-man draped on him for a low percentage shot or he would try to do his toe drag move that looked great when it worked but often did not work). I didn't think I would say it this early this season, but imho, his great play has driven down the pressing need to get a guy like Nolan Patrick (who I am very high on). If Willie's tough love approach is helping bring the best out of Bo, then I'm all in.
  7. We need to play "LASTNAME" more.

That guy had Garrett confused too! I'm going to blame Sportsnet Toronto, why? Just because!

  8. Man. I can see Alex Edler doing the following skit on Late Night talking to the CDC Congress:
  9. With Edler out, now, we'll truly see who has been carrying that awesome D-pairing...... Sbisa or Tryamkin.

  10. ;-) I actually liked that album. Although that was released in 2015. So until he releases a new one, JV's hits are matching JB's.
  11. Ok, I have a few guesses as to why he hasn't been hitting (cue the drumroll and cymbals): He's no longer playing for the Hitmen. He has been hanging out too much with a guy whose hits have also been declining - Bieber.
  12. Congrats, Ottawa Redblacks. Imho, one of the biggest football upsets I've seen.

  13. That was quick. Vegas Golden Knights probably-fake shirts already up on Ebay. They can probably already sell the Andre-Fleury Golden Knights jerseys.

I think the Knights was a play on words for Nights. And Golden is because of all the Neon lights in Vegas.

Exactly why make it a play on words. The whole world knows what it should be : )

I'm not a big fan of using puns for something as long-lasting as a team name as puns generally has a very short shelf-life.

  14. I can see how having a last name named 'Darling' can be potentially cumbersome. The announcer said of Ericsson's goal, "he put it past the big netminder Darling". It almost sounded like he was calling his fellow announcer "darling". I can see Scott Darling being in a mall and when a woman says 'darling', he turns his head and a fight ensues between him and the woman's significant other.

  15. Ryan Kesler invented tunnel vision! Apparently, Kesler's excuse was that he grew up near highways in Michigan where they had many signs that said "Do Not Pass".
  16. With that goal, Hutton should now take over Eriksson's spot in the shootout.

  17. Just on pure stats, Sbisa and Tryamkin have been our best D pairing the past 3 games. Not bad.

    1. Mr.DirtyDangles

      Mr.DirtyDangles

      Spread the Sbisa love B)

  18. Then, this year, the Canucks would end up having a whole line that can only be deployed on offensive zone starts due to their quickly diminishing physical ability and their ever-present lack of physicality. Would have loved to see a great send-off for them where they could still have a solid line, and I think getting a creative, bug and skilled young guy like Puljujarvi would have allowed that, but that ship has sailed. The big question for me about their career now is what to do when their contract expires. They would want to keep playing, but will they end up being deployed in the second line? Maybe split them up to cut down on their deficiencies.
  19. Rinse and repeat: No bandaid solutions. No bandaid solutions. No bandaid solutions.

  20. One of the things I like about Nolan Patrick is that he can win fights.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we won't be able to out-skill teams like the Oilers going forward. We're gonna need leaders like Patrick who can keep up with them, push them around, and rattle them head-to-head.

Unless he falls to 4th OA, we aren't getting him.

Haven't you guys been paying attention? No way we win the Draft Lottery, ever.

    4. Beary Sweet

      Beary Sweet

@luckylager you never know. We have young players like Hutton, Stecher, Virt playing regularly in the team and with the likes of Pedan, Subban, and Boeser coming next season, there's a good chance we could win. Let's make history

  21. And you would draft Alex Burrows that high? A younger Alex Burrows wouldn't be good enough for the Sedins right now because the Sedins have lost a step or two. Even with their best efforts, they have a hard enough time just bringing the puck in a timely fashion from D to O. What they need is a hockey equivalent of Viagra. What doesn't make sense: D-men's draft stock going high because of their fellow O players. Only people who evaluate D-men based on scoring highlights on YouTube think that way. For D-men, the peole drafting watch the whole game and play by play see how the D-men position themselves to D, how they position themselves on O to try to create passing lanes or move the other team's D to maximize their chances of getting a scoring opportunity, how fast they skate, their decision making with the puck, how well they absorb hits, etc.
  22. Saw the goals today. He is basically feeding off somebody else's creation - not that there's anything wrong with that, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if we drafted Tkachuk, he won't be scoring for us much this year. I was a big Tkachuk fan until I started watching complete games by Juolevi. Our guy's hockey IQ is quite amazing - similar to what I saw with Stecher, he seems to be able to see everybody's positioning from above. I can see why they chose him over the much more physically mature but seemingly not as high IQ Chychrun. However, I watched Juolevi live in pre-season and thought that he wasn't playing the opportunistic game that I saw prior to the draft - he looked very conservative. Perhaps he was trying to get used to the speed of the game. In any event, we're loaded on D and can wait for him to develop for 2 more years. Worst-case scenario is that he gets traded for a very good forward.
  23. If the Canucks beat the Maple Leafs, is all forgiven?

    1. Green Building

      Green Building

Forgive now. It's not like there is an acceptable punishment if one chooses otherwise.

    2. Brad Marchand

      Brad Marchand

That would imply the Canucks scoring goals, which violates the laws of physics, so your scenario is completely hypothetical.

      Otherwise, I agree with GB.

  24. We should get Joe Maddon to replace Willie Dejardins.

  25. Apparently, when Lebron had the following "3-1 Lead" skeleton, he was referring to his beloved Cleveland Indians choking their 3-1 series lead. If the Indians lose tonight, then Lebron is definitely the new GOAT.
