  1. Dan was infected with Tortorella disease and that contributed to his premature demise. I am betting he can find his shot next year with his brother healthy and a worthy first line NHL RW in place. Burr is a bigger question mark than Dan. Burr made $6m for 15 points last year. Dan made $6.1m for 47 points or 3X + the points performance for $100k more in pay.
  2. Dan was top 8 in NHL scoring in early December last season. The concussion is a liability going forward but he has more talent than the rest of the Canucks not named Sedin.
  3. Individual players can excel despite having a dufus troglodyte as a head coach. They are professional athletes, after all.
  4. Higgins did all right. Kesler had a good year. Kassian woke up in late February. Santorelli was a beast.
  5. Tanev has scored eight goals in 156 NHL regular season games and none in 15 playoff games. That is 171 NHL games and eight goals scored. Positionally sound. Limited offense. Not a hard hitter. Tanev is the type of player any team could use but Edler is not going anywhere,Ditto Juice and Hammer. Garrison is a local boy that wanted to sign here, and I presume would like to stay. That leaves Tanev as a d man that Florida would accept as they have stated they wanted a D top-4 roster player in part for return in trading their #1.
  6. 6' 3" 216 lbs right handed, puck moving d man- Ekblad 5' 11" 179 lbs. Left winger-Hunter 6' 1" 186 lbs. Center- Reinhart Ekblad is a cornerstone player that steps into the lineup this September, freeing up a top-4 d man to trade in the process. Plenty of centers waiting in the wings for the Canucks. Hunter is not fitting the mold of what the mgmt.states to ice but it will be sad to see him go. Ekblad, please.
  7. Ekblad is a RHD so don't be surprised if Tanev is going the other way in this scenario /proposal.
  8. JB and TL are going for Ekblad. Franchise , puck-moving d man are not traded very often because the asking price is too high. Two prospects and a roster player for a franchise player is a no - brainer.
  9. Ekblad appears to be the franchise player that this team needs now. He will slot right into the lineup and make one top - 4 d man redundant. Give up a pick,Shink and roster player for a franchise , puck-moving d man. JB does this deal in a heartbeat.
  10. Trevor arrived and threw out the trash Aqualini left for him after Francesco's walk to the curb.
  11. Sad that Booth's contract was the remaining cap space allotted for this team to become a championship club. Kes needed a winger and Booth was brought in. This team needed a legitimate winger to play with Kes to make this team a contender. Unfortunately,a multiple concussed/head injured player with a $4.5m salary and four year contract was the thin edge of the downfall that followed. I hope Booth can continue his career with the success he achieved prior to his injuries . Best of luck to him.
  12. Christmas for this Nuck fan: Draft day nearing and full of hope.

  13. I live six months of each year on Bali where religion is everything for near everyone-Hindus ,Moslems and Christians. It's just a part of their lives.I am sure each individual takes their faith differently-if at all. Christianity is the basis of the legal structure of this land and this country was far more God oriented before the 60's came and went.I am not religious but he may be a better player because of his faith.I have no idea how to tell. Are you suggesting he should be working on something he neglected? I don't get it as he can do as he likes.
  14. None of that makes him a weirdo. He's just a guy with dough to do what he wants.
  15. Puck moving D man. Winger for the Sedins if Burr is crispy. Veteran goaltender. Cap space won't be wasted if TL/JB intend to actually contend in a modest fashion.
  16. Hemsky was in and around a PPG player-on anemic Edmonton club- and 2+ years younger than Burr. Burr is a half point PPG player with the Sedins -and now has injuries to deal with. Gillis made the contract with Burr and it seems like he was and is overpaid.
  17. Would be a low - cost ,decent gamble to give the Sedins a talented RW that can put the puck in the net.
  18. I agree. Booth has shown signs of progressive, cerebral recovery. However,if his lot is a third line slot the Nucks would do better to let him move on. Credit to the Aqualini's for funding the mistakes of the past for a shot at the betterment of the team's future.
  19. Watching 5'8" St. Louis and 5'7" Zuccarelo undress 6'3" Willie Mitchell makes me hope the Nucks allow Schroeder one full healthy season on the roster.
  20. Lain,Cassels ,Gaunce and Horvat are on his heels. Time to step up and be counted.
  21. Kesler may not go to Florida or Buffalo but that is not to say that a three way deal can't be formulated and executed. When you have a GM that other GM's can relate / talk to I suspect the unexpected could happen.
  22. Benning provides the team with the level of experience and skills warranted for the NHL GM position.

    1. smithers joe

      smithers joe

every GM tries to provide his team with the best possible players...if it was easy, we would win the cup every year....putting a competitive, exciting team on the ice is all we can expect....only one team wins the cup every year.

you sound like boring Sean Monahan

Aquilini provides the team with the funds needed to build a perennial contender.

  23. Great goaltending makes coaches look good. AV was blessed with Luo and now with Lundqvist. With that said it is nice to hear a calm and even jovial coach on the podium.
