  1. This is the Gillis record: 2013 #9 Hunter and #24 Shinkaruk (both first round picks and not NHL players) 2012 #26 Gaunce(1st round pick)-not an NHL player 2011 #29 Jensen (1st round pick) 2010 No NHL players 2009 #22 Schroeder (1st round pick) and #83 Connauton (played NHL games for Dallas in Roy trade) 2008 #9 Hodgson (1st round pick) Six first round picks in six drafts. 38 players selected over six drafts. 4 picks playing in the NHL. This record pales in comparison to successful organizations records.
  2. Year six of Gillis and the team is losing to last place Buffalo, out of the playoff race and about to end up with their worst record since Keenan and Messier jettisoned Trevor. Bring out the party balloons.
  3. The team will likely finish 20th-25th.Presently ,the fourth worst PP,second worst GPG average and the third worst 'team shooting percentage' ranking in the league. This was the first place NHL team but three seasons ago.
  4. The Canucks have beaten Nashville,Calgary and Florida this month. With the Wild,Avalanche and Ducks on deck the Nucks need to face as many sub-.500 clubs as possible and this team is dead last in the NHL. Canucks could win this one and stayin the race for .500 ,themselves.
  5. 2011 #35-Jurco 2010 #21-Sheehan 2009 #60-Tatar and #32 Ferraro 2008 #121-Nyquist 2007 #21-Smith (first round pick) and #88 Andersson 2006 #41-Emmerton and #47 Matthias 2005 #19-Kindl(first round pick and #42 Abdelkader and #103 Ritola and #132 Helm 2004 #97-Franzen No top 10 picks. Two first round picks. 14 active NHL roster players in ten drafts. One Stanley Cup. One Stanley Cup Finals appearance. 2011 #29 Jensen (1st round pick) and #150 Corrado 2010 No NHL players 2009 #22 Schroeder (1st round pick) and #83 Connauton (played NHL games for Dallas in Roy trade) 2008 #9 Hodgson (1st round pick) 2007 No NHL players (One 1st round pick-White) 2006 #14 Grabner(1st round pick) 2005 #10 Bourdon RIP (1st round pick) and #51 Raymond 2004 #26 Schneider (1st round pick) and #91 Edler and #159 Brown and #287 Hansen Two top 10 picks. Seven first round picks. 10 active NHL players(Corrado in AHL and RIP Luc) One Stanley Cup Finals appearance.
  6. This epic collapse would be complete with a Flames surge and final game insult.
  7. Every Dallas and Flames win increases the odds of a better draft selection and possible management rotation.
  8. I think he is referring to the BC bud space race.
  9. The mindset is denial at present. The Canucks winning percentage is the worst since 1999 or the last 15 years. Messier and Keenan era, remember the glory? Getting a possible franchise player (because this management has failed to facilitate success) will help future Canucks teams succeed. Luo gone,Kes gone soon,Daniel a mess-management without a clue. Get some help in here the old fashioned way-high draft pick, please.
  10. 13,000 points suggests you should take your own advice.
  11. What a load of cheap mouthwash you gurgle us with.RLR succinctly told it as it is and you demean an intelligent fan of this franchise by spinning your nonsense. 27th place PP-from 1st three years ago. 29th place team in goals scored -from 1st in the league three years ago. 13th place PK-from 2nd in the league three years ago. 29th place GPG -from 1st three years ago. First place in the NHL three years ago to a team that can't win two games in a row for months on end.
  12. More like fantasy hockey. This team is straddling near last in the league in goals scored ,PP,team shooting percentage and GPG. The team is on track statistically for a 1997 finish-the depths of Canucks hockey nowhere land. One puck moving d man will help matters but is not fixing a sinking Gilligan's island.
  13. Hodgson for a project winger when Kes was hurt ,already, and the team needed a 2c.Ballard -for letting it go on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Booth-for the $19 m whatever and closing the window on the second line and chances for another cup run. Never mind he is a multiple head injured victim. Signing Daniel for another 4 years @ $7m when he has suffered a bad concussion. Pretty major screw ups.
  14. And yet you do over and over again which is the definition of....
  15. Let me help you with that,Elvis.I will make it easier for you and eliminate the wall.
  16. It was a labelled a 'Cinderella run' but in fact the team battled for first in their division.Canucks finished first in the Smythe Division in 1992-1993. Canucks finished SECOND in the Pacific Division in 1993-1994(division names were changed that year). Quinn stayed on one more year -made the playoffs. The team finished second in their division. In fact, the Canucks made the playoffs EVERY year he was GM of the Canucks. In 1994-1995 Quinn left -the spiral was Keenan,Messier and the McCaw disaster. PAT QUINN made a number of trades the year of the cup run: He traded for Jim Vanbiesbrouck,Jimmy Carson,Craig Janney,Jeff Brown,Bret Hedican and Nathan Lafayette. The year before Quinn acquired Dave Babych,Geoff Courtnall,Cliff Ronning,Sergio Momesso,Tom Kurvers,Gerald Diduck and Robert Dirk. It should be noted that not only did Quinn manage the club,he also coached the club.
  17. Because the team's worst performance since 1997 commands big ,fat Gillis love. How about a 'Gillis for GM Forever' thread ? : GPG-29th in league PP-26th in league Team shooting %-28th in league Team winning %-worst since 1999 GF/GA-worst in 15 years PP-worst since 1997 PK-on par with 1998 and 2007
  18. You have to be a unique player to want to intentionally hurt others. Messier and Stevens come to mind.
  19. Mathematically there is a 2% chance to make the playoffs: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html At least the Vegas odds have increased to 100:1 to win the cup. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/futures/ Notify the parade route planners.
  20. Buddy, spare us your brain cell explosion.1.3% is their percentage to get into the playoffs. Winning the cup was 300:1 Vegas odds yesterday.
  21. As a hockey player growing up idolizing the Canucks, being taught hockey by Pat Quinn and watching a neighbour play for the team during 45 years of losing I am not your type of fan and I will never be.
