  1. Or, it could mean that Babcock is being considered for a job as an assistant coach... in Abbotsford. regards, G.
  2. I'm going to speculate that his past injury history is what is going on. regards, G.
  3. Was this Olive Picker from a branch of that family who emigrated from Sicily, and once they got to North America, changed their family name to Oyl? And they kept Olive as a family heritage name... There is also a rumor of a three way romance, with a guy who worked on the docks, or maybe he was a sailor. Anyways, this quick downward slide is due to the influence of the Oyls. regards, G.
  4. Yeah, back when Miku was with Li'l Cumin. For those who missed it, there are also videos of Band Maid's Akane (drums) and Kanami (lead guitar) with their alternate act, Mochi to Cheese: Mostly they have been scoured out of the Internet, but with a bit of searching something will turn up. There is also this video, which has Akane and Misa (bass) in performance with Japanese TV personality, Becky. Be warned, you can't unsee/hear it once you click on it: I find this to be kinda' soul sucking to watch. Aiko Oka (lead guitar from what I understand) is still doing some very interesting stuff. regards, G.
  5. Periodically, I would use the "Next year, in Jerusalem" line when discussing lecture theatre upgrades with some of the faculty at my former workplace... when I'd have to tell the same people, year after year, that the upgrades would be in place "next year". regards, G.
  6. This is also quite good. It is fairly close in sound to the "regular" version. The acoustic version of Puzzle (also Saiki and Kanami only) is a lot better than the full band, rock version, which is a ripper. Sadly, it is harder to find than the acoustic rendition of Anemone, but it does make appearances in various "reaction" vids (as we've previously looked at a couple of pages back). The Julia Nilon page is perhaps the best discussion vid on that particular song, or discussion of the merits of the vocals. Ah heck, why not.... The closest thing I've found to the entire band being "unplugged" (small amp for Misa's bass, and the acoustic guitars plugged into the mic/line system) is this video for a concert they did way back when in 2014. Saiki would have a tender throat at this point, which affected her range (it's kind of notable in Thrill @15:57). Miku was still in her very early stage of learning the guitar. Note: this is on the BiliBili site, for those who are careful about going to strange websites. https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1ms411x7GD/ The concert it points to is this one (for those who have already seen it): regards, G.
  7. I can't lay a claim to being a Benning apologist, but I don't recall seeing "most" of these pundits which were placing the Canucks outside of the playoffs at season's end. I'm certain that some of these advanced models were predicting a low result for the Canucks, but all?. I'm sure that you were looking at much more worthy sources than what I happened upon. For example, I did a quick scan (https://www.nhl.com/news/stanley-cup-picks-for-2021-22/c-326685518) and noticed that the Islanders were picked to have a much better fate by all of the pundits than what they are currently displaying, I suppose we should wait until the season is over on this one, but the Canucks fate is set in stone, yes? Where did you discover this? I was not aware of Benning paying any attention to these forums (or other fan forums). I hope he has read about how I was displeased with how the Juolevi and Gadjovich situations were handled. And maybe he could do something about the price of beer, and change the warm up music.... Also, it would probably be much better for the team if he based his decisions on the opinions of the "toxic negative" fans. They are far more in touch with reality... on some level. Crap, is that his job? Is he aware that this is in his job description? Maybe he's confused because he's always getting contradictory orders from the fanbase (or portions thereof) to get high draft picks, but also finish in the playoffs (and win the Cup), while building a team to support the core, and not trade away any picks (because that 7th rounder could be next Datsyuk, or even a mere Hansen). Hey, curling is on later today. regards, G.
  8. I was hopeful for Gadjovich being here/making the team, not necessarily for what he would do this season, but for it being a development step for him becoming a solid bottom-6 type of player. As an example/comparable, it took Jannik Hansen five or six seasons as a pro before he started to produce points in any significant sense to compliment his defensive play (yes, he was a better skater). With a bit more time, and some more improvement with his skating, maybe Gadjovich could have become that bottom-6 guy the team needs regards, G.
  9. Coming up on my TV screen... regards, G.
  10. Well, with "He Who Shouldn't Be Named", it was more about marketing/money than anything else. regards, G.
  11. Will Benning trade the team's 2022 1st round pick? I kinda' hope so, because the topics that seem to keep resurfacing are getting a bit redundant. regards, G.
  12. Yeah, it sucks to be us. What other team in the entire NHL has only one guy who was drafted/developed/currently on the roster of that team? Well, Florida is the best team in the NHL atm..... regards, G.
  13. The audio level on this is kinda' loud, so maybe pull your levels down to start. It's also on a site called "Odysee" and Youtube, if that is a concern to some. This is early BM, where Miku is in the transition from playing air guitar to actually playing. https://odysee.com/@zabeJP:1/bandmaid-agofest2015-momocloTV-69619966:b regards, G.
  14. It doesn't really matter in the long haul. It's just more advertising revenue. I'm waiting for naming rights to be acquired by a very non-traditional product/company which we don't normally see, like the RestoraLAX, or Viagra, or feminine hygiene products. It would give sports writers hundreds of opportunities for twisted headlines. Or, get a product which reflects the team which occupies that building. "Huggies House" for a younger team (think about it before using this for the Canucks), "Depends Bowl" for a very veteran group of players, something like that... regards, G.
  15. And while they may not put up points, they give the point producers (on the Canucks) room to actually put up points. regards, G.
  16. Or, while you may be correct in your observation, the team already had a guy who was already trending in that direction, so why get rid of him (on waivers), and then replace him with a guy from another team ... for the cost of a 4th liner and a pick? Maybe the team could get a "better" player (bigger, stronger, more experienced, perhaps a better skater, etc), but if that guy had all of those attributes, why would the other team want to trade that guy away? Heck, why wouldn't he already be playing in the NHL? regards, G.
  17. I'd say that the best bet would be to draft a guy like that... regards, G.
  18. Oh well, things to do. I'll check back in in the third period. It should be 4 - 3 at that point... regards, G.
