  1. I'd still be inclined to protect Virtanen in this draft. If nothing else I suspect that if he were traded he could garner a bigger return than one of the other prospects/AHL forwards the Canucks have available (Boeser, Gaudette, Horvat, Miller, Motte, Pettersson, Virtanen). The only way I would make him available is if I really wanted to improve the chances that Seattle wouldn't take Myers (assuming he is the d-man left exposed), and I don't believe offering a 2nd to take Eriksson would achieve that. I'd ask, but I do suspect that I'd be turned down. regards, G.
  2. Sure thing. I have confidence that you can reach some form of clarity from your original comment. I suspect that most folks could provide an answer, and we are all supporting you in this challenge. regards, G.
  3. It's okay. If clarity is challenging to you then work it out at your own speed. The rest of us can wait. regards, G.
  4. Kabuki reminds me of this Italian "fantasy metal" band, along with Christopher Lee: regards, G.
  5. Kabuki play heavy/folk metal: regards, G.
  6. Nope. I shall continue to seek clarification(s) for your lack of clarity. regards, G.
  7. Nippon Madonna - "Physiology". These folks are listed as "punk/garage rock": regards, G.
  8. Not sure how these two players/situations are related or comparable. From your comment, one had asked to be traded from his drafting organization. The other player has not (as yet) asked to be traded or commented on being unhappy about being here, and he is also being criticised regarding his play by a portion of the fanbase, and/or. being supported by another portion of the fanbase. Please provide an explanation. regards, G.
  9. Yeah, but Virtanen is a streaky player in getting points, unlike Pettersson who is... also being kinda' streaky of late. (Let's not talk about that.) regards, G.
  10. Why thank you!!! Yes, a redraft, but isn't that still a matter of opinion where the prospect/player would be redrafted? One may look at stats and rate a player (GP, goals, total pts etc) but after that it is an opinion. Bob McKenzie posting a trade rumour is different from Bob McKenzie posting an opinion on where he believes a prospect will be drafted, or redrafted at some future point in time, just like "some guy" on Twitter. When more stats and opinions are formed, the player may rise of fall in a redraft, but one cannot use that as proof that the prospect should not have been chosen in the first place, something which seems to happen around here all too often (good ol' 20/20 hindsight), nor should it be used as an indicator of future success. Am I offended by your position? Nope. Amused perhaps, but not offended. Not sure why you would think that I am offended by someone having a different point of view. Am I confused by your position? Nope, except perhaps confused that you would in the first place put forward such an argument. Anyhoo, it looks like it's a nice day out there. Maybe get in a quick walk before the game. regards, G.
  11. Let me get this straight, you're asking for a "source" for his opinion? You then go on to give your opinion which is, at least in part, based on the opinions of other people, whose opinions are perhaps generally well regarded, but are still opinions. As they support your views and biases, you put forth that they should be seen as "valid" sources which should therefore be accepted by everyone else... So, how was breakfast this morning? Do you have some sources for your response? regards, G.
  12. Perhaps another thing to consider is that Buffalo is forced to leave a forward exposed in the draft who would otherwise have been protected, assuming that both Horvat and Miller would be protected. Maybe this could be an additional cost for Buffalo turning down this trade... but, on second thought, looking at the Buffalo forwards maybe this wouldn't be too much of a problem. regards, G.
  13. I suppose my favourite Russian KGB sort of joke is as follows: It was a cold, dark night in Gorky Park. Natasha was waiting for her contact to appear. She turned at the sound of someone walking through the snow, and said, "Boris, dahlink. Is that gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? There was the sound of a gunshot, and Natasha fell to the ground... dead. It was gun. regards, G.
  14. True enough. Stalin et al should have realized that there were problems with their version of Communism... there were red flags everywhere. regards, G.
  15. I can't say that I disagree with anything you have written. (Apologies for the late response, I was watching curling, amongst other things.) This being said, from things I've read and video I have seen, this band is always pushing their boundaries outwards, one of the areas being BPM. They can make fast songs not feel like they are all that fast, and slower songs feel like they have gone by in a blink. BPM is a challenge which (I believe) the entire band is willing to take on, but they view the challenge differently. I suspect that the hunt for higher BPM is primarily a Kanami thing, while Misa and Akane look for greater complexity in the sound from the bass and drums (perhaps a jazz influence?). I have seen some interviews where it seems that Misa is blaming herself for how the bass section is more complicated than it needed to be in a particular song, but she wanted to try something different. Faster songs are something which they have reservations about because the higher BPM can result in errors, which makes them less likely to be heard in concert at least until they have had a chance to practice it a lot. BPM also has nothing to do with some songs which the band has in their library not being performed all that often, such as "Fate". This song is only 130 BPM (in that regard it is well within their capabilities) but it has been performed in concert something like 3 times since it was written/composed/released in 2018(?). I've never seen anything to indicate what there is about this song which makes them reluctant to play it in concert. "YOLO" is listed as being 170 BPM, but to me it feels a lot less: Or, if anyone really wants to slow down, I really like the piano version (supposedly this is Kanami tinkling the ivories): "Don't Be Long" comes in at 195, and they seem to be able to pull that off, so I'm not sure that they have an issue with BPM as much as it's the other complexities which they themselves insert: Second concert performance for reference: regards, G.
  16. Oh come on, everyone knows the Canucks don't have any seconds left, just ask around... regards, G.
  17. The question should be: is it sport, physical activity, or a past time? The answer lies with how the individual sees the activity, why they do it, and is there a level of competition. Poker, nope, not in a million years unless there's some kind of competitive level "playing with your chips"event of which I am unaware. Sure, running and such things are athletic endeavors, but unless that activity is performed as part of a competition (or training for a competitive event), then it is not sport it is physical activity. Run to train to get into the Olympics, it's a sport. Run because you use it lose weight, improve your lung capacity, or just relax, then it's not a sport. Play soccer at a professional level and make loads of money in the Premier League, it's a sport. Play soccer in a beer league after work, it's a sport. Ping Pong at a competitive level would probably be considered as a sport due to the movement around the players' side of the table, the cardiovascular rate for the players, reflexes and so on. Playing in your basement is a past time. Darts, an argument could be made for this to be a sport. Most people play at a past time level of ability and be quite good, but the pro dart player has a hand/eye co-ordination which is gained only after hours/years of play. Pool also falls into this category. Formula-1 racing, Is this a sport? I heard a kinesiologist describe the need for physical fitness in drivers due to the G-forces which they experience during a race (amongst other things), and this convinced me that sport is appropriate here, even though the driver is "just sitting down" for the couple of hours of the event. Horse riding events are also acceptable to me as sports when you consider the balance and physical conditioning required by the rider (you bounce a lot which can kill your back, and if your horse falls on you then you are really going to have a bad rest of the day). Finally, Curling is a sport. Don't even try me on this. regards, G.
  18. Nah, the rumour aspect of this is long since gone. It has devolved into Armchair GM'ing, where I believe it would be more appropriate. regards, G.
