  1. You're welcome. http://instantrimshot.com/index.php?sound=rimshot&play=true *** careful, it can be loud, maybe turn down your spkrs *** regards, G.
  2. I believe that is a woman's body that McDavid's face has been put on. Note the fingernails... regards, G.
  3. Well, I'm taking credit for this 3-0 lead, via my playing songs from Band Maid's latest album, mixed with some of their older songs. Each time one of the newer songs came up in the mix the Canucks have scored. regards, G.
  4. Actually, the correct answer would be two, but potentially he could hit each of them more than once... and the crossbar doesn't count as a post. regards, G.
  5. Yeah, I guess I'd be okay with him, if the Canucks had to draft someone... regards, G.
  6. I would kinda' wanna' get Edvinsson, if we're talking tanking. regards, G.
  7. For a while, the local Seattle audience complained that they had to wait until after SNL in order to see Almost Live, so KING moved it to a slot before SNL. That lasted for a while before NBC network front office saw that their SNL ratings were dropping, and forced KING to return Almost Live to the slot after SNL. About Almost Live, I liked their "bible" where gags were continued over several seasons. The Ballard Driving Academy: COPS in Ballard: Notice the seatbelt. regards, G. PS - Billy Kwan.
  8. Time yo get away from the computer and go play some ... computer games. regards, G. Forgot to include:
  9. Yeah. My favourite segment of that bit was where the announcer asks for a reaction to grunge/metal bands who sell out for a lot of money (a dig at Soundgarden's success). The camera jumps to Thayll who responds along the line of, "Hey, that's actually pretty cool..." regards, G.
  10. Sadly, the following can't be embedded. It's one of the Lame List segments from "Almost Live", with Soundgarden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UdUBH9cJx4 I miss that show. regards, G.
  11. Fair enough, but we are talking about a guy who has scored 18 goals in one season for this team. I'm unsure that any of the other guys named have that comparative potential, or are going to be of greater value to this team just because they may become a bottom-6 d-man or a regular bottom-6 forward. About the only value this sounds like is that the team saves some cap on their contract, not that this is a bad thing. I don't see any of these prospects being that guy you hope they could become, at least not for a few years. So, does the team experiment at the cost of another season, or two, with more inadequate play from guys trying to find their game (just change the number and the name on the back of the jersey), or does the team make a trade? If consistency in Virtanen's game is the hang-up, and getting a guy to fill a need was the goal, and if I was the guy moving Virtanen out, I'd want to replace him with a known quantity/quality, not wait around (some more) for some of the potential we have coming up. I'd want to fill his spot on the roster right now with a guy like Laughton (from the Flyers), but that would probably be a fairly expensive trade for the Canucks (Virtanen, and perhaps an add from among perhaps Gaudette, picks and maybe some of those prospects). ANd Laughton is a UFA at the end of this season, so possibly (but not probably) the Canucks could sign him. regards, G.
  12. The team will (potentially) be looking to fill two positions (and maybe as many as four) on defense for next year, Edler, Hammonic and Benn are UFAs and might not return. There is also the possibility that the Canucks could lose Myers in the expansion draft. Some will discount this possibility, but as it is a possible occurrence it needs to be on the table. The only sure bet for returning d-men for next season are Schmidt, Hughes and Juolevi. Prospects/AHL players aren't included in this part of the discussion (Brisebois, Chatfield, Eliot, Rafferty, Rathbone, Sautner, Teves, Woo). Just for this reason, re-signing Edler could be a necessity. If the team doesn't re-sign Edler (or Benn, and/or they lose Myers in the draft) there are two options for next season. Option #1: The team would have to sign more UFA d-men (left or right side - there is flexibility with Schmidt). Potential downsides could be cap and term, the potential quality of the candidates, plus the younger d-men don't get NHL playing time to help their development. The upside is that the team is (supposedly) ready to go with experienced d-men to mentor/shelter the younger players (Hughes and Juolevi), as well as giving support to the vets (Schmidt and Myers - assuming he is still here). Option #2: The less likely option, is that the team would not sign any UFAs and would give more of the younger d-men (left and right side- there is flexibility with Schmidt ) an opportunity to grow into the role as bottom pairing d-men. Potential downsides could be that the inexperience of the players means more work for the other d-men, missed coverages, inflated goals against, etc. We are talking about Schmidt being the only veteran d-man. Upside could be that the team saves a ton on cap space and can better evaluate what they do have by way of d-men in the system. regards, G.
  13. Virtanen, while still not all that he could, or should, or is hoped to be is still much better than the potential I see with these guys. I see more potential for maybe "pretty goodness", but not really greatness. I'd be happy to be shown wrong when/if they ever make it to the NHL (assuming that they are still with the Canucks, eg. Madden). regards, G.
  14. Hmm, the last time I thought about him was the last time I heard this song, which was some time ago,,, regards, G.
  15. As a continuance of this, the following is part of an interview which deals just with the song creation for "Band Maiko", which seems like a very complicated job: https://bandmaid.tokyo/contents/238006 regards, G.
