I have to admit that for me, determining who is "the best" would difficult as I haven't really listened all that much to some of the folks listed on the poll (not really a rock guy, so stand up bass in a jazz band is more my thing) Charles Mingus Ray Brown and Ron Carter are also pretty good. Electric bass guitar, Jaco Pastorius Otherwise, with all of my ears' frequent flyer miles to Japan, I'm really liking Misa (from Band Maid). regards, G.

Latest from Wagakki Band, live at 1 AM PST. I like this group (a lot), for their sound, their stage presence, etc. Yuko Suzuhana is an amazing singer with a great vibrato in her voice. This being said, I'm also a bit disappointed that they really haven't evolved their sound all that much over the past eightish (at least not to my ear). regards, G.

Or, and since we're all speculating and such, can we imagine the crapstorm if it were found out that Benning wasn't accepting any calls regarding trades for Virtanen (not that I want to see him gone)? <insert comments like, "It's the GM's job to at least listen to trade proposals... etc.> regards, G. -

(Rumour) Virtanen on the trade block
Gollumpus replied to Wayne Glensky's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Yeah, sorry to see Virtanen go, but a 1 for 1 on Jenner (with maybe some add/cap retention?) is a very good trade (imo). The face off results look great. There might be (minor) concerns expressed over point production, but the Canucks weren't that concerned about Malhotra scoring points as 3C, so if the Canucks had some fast(er) wingers to compliment Jenner then the 3rd line could be comparable to Malhotra, Higgins and Hansen. As I recall, they were physical, fast, defensively sound and could chip in with some goals every game or so. Jenner, Hoglander and <?> seems like it would be a good line. The only (significant) issues I would have is the cap difference, and that Jenner has only one more year on his current deal. regards, G. -

Well, it certainly can't hurt. Even looking at the remainder of February, the Canucks have 1 road game, and 7 home games in the span of 20 nights, and the road game is to Calgary. Even if all of the coaching staff were to be fired, the Canucks would have a lot of time to (hopefully) get things organized. It does suck that the schedule couldn't be a bit better. I do see it that the Canucks are (once again) screwed some by how the season is planned (not a conspiracy theory)..It's only lately that some teams are starting to catch up in games played. regards, G.

My observation on this past couple of weeks, the Canucks look tired and under-practiced. <Insert "they're a crappy team", "poor coaching", "bad GM", etc comments here. This being said, they can also be a tired, crappy team, yes?> Looking at this latest series against the Leafs, the Canucks were finishing 6 games in 11 nights, with 3 travel days in there. Toronto had 4 continuous days off followed by 3 games in 5 nights off vs the Canucks. <Insert "everybody has a tough schedule" here> I don't mention this for purposes of making excuses for the team, but rather to point out that, assuming the Canucks are still around in the playoff hunt, they have the chance of getting in a few days of practice and healing up at the end of this month prior to flying to Winnipeg, and the Canucks also have a span of 2 games in 11 nights in March (all of them in Vancouver), so if there's a chance that they can still make some noise then this is when it could happen... assuming they are still in the hunt for the playoffs. regards, G.
