  1. My exact thoughts. Because we're not in the playoff race, I can see why Tocchet is experimenting with Kuzy to see if he can get him to become more responsible defensively but... Just like green, he might focus to much on Kuzys weaknesses while stunting his offensive flare and creativity. God... I don't want another Green clone. Was his offensive generation outweighing is defensive shortcomings?
  2. Sort it out quick before trade deadline... We could get a lot for him if he doesn't 'work' in Tocc's system.
  3. Wow! Music to my ears... Are we actually helping develop our prospects properly?! Seriously, Jurmo mentions the support and feedback he's getting. He says he trusts the management team as to where they think he should be developing and playing next year. I know this management teams decisions with how they manage the big club has been rightfully criticized but so far I'm feeling very good with the direction and plan the management has taken with our prospects both oversees and in Abby. Very encouraging!!
  4. 100% THIS!!!! I find it flabbergasting that fans here are so willing to part with Demko. He is a high end goalie at his floor with an elite ceiling. How many goalie in the NHL at his level? 4 to 6 maybe? Others here that are old enough to remember the years and years without a true #1 goalie... Think 'west coast express'. That team was as talented as Tampa Bay BUT had Cloutier not Vasilevskiy. To me there is nothing more demoralizing than having an elite skill team without an elite goaltender. If I had to choose, I'd prefer having a elite character, cohesive 'team' with an exceptional goalie to rally around (like 94 team). Versus a elite skill team with okay character and average goaltending (like Toronto or Edmonton). Just my opinion.
  5. Sam... We'll see soon enough what Miller's influence on the team going forward will be. It will be either really positive or really negative. Bo's absents will bring to light what's happening.
  6. I hope you're right... Well I hope that their bet on Miller is the right one. We'll see more so, one way or another now that Bo is gone. I'm not as optimistic as you obviously.
  7. Yes those are some of his qualities. And yes I believe the rest of his teammates have benefitted from his drive and passion. However, it comes with other characteristics that wear on his teammates as well. I feel the the negatives now out way the positives. Petey and Hughes have learned everything they can from Miller. Because of his larger than life personally and the fact that he finds it hard to contain or direct his energy productively, his antics are now mostly a distraction. Again, he is a very valuable player. And quite frankly I like his honest interviews and candidness, but I just don't think he is the right personality to mesh with Petey and Hughes long term. I'd prefer more Schenn type of players over Miller type a player.
  8. I'll say this.... I'm excited and ready for a step back to change the narrative. That has begun. Truth is, I feel like both Horvat and Miller are great high end players... But really, more specifically, high end support players. Love both these guys but for different reasons, however, regardless of my appreciation I have for them as individuals and players, I wanted and still want to move on from both. Neither Miller or Horvat went about their business in the same way that Petey and Hughes do... Basically from a different generation, even though they are pretty close in age. I feel like, Kuzy, Podz, Högs, Klim and now Räty are the voices and energy of this team... It's been heading in that direction for a while now. JT and Horvat simply were and are not good fits for the culture going forward. I hope they find a taker for JT, even if it means salary retention. We'll see what happens, but regardless, I have hope again that this team might be heading in the right direction after 10 years of the the same old underwhelming story.
  9. Okay a positive signing for this management. THIS makes sense for this team. Hopefully a 'sign' of things to come?!
  10. It's going to be much easier to watch Rick lose vs Bruce! Bruce deserves better. I'm actually happy for him.... He will be once he's healed the wounds from being the gong show he was put through. On that note, he seems to have landed on his feet quickly enough... So there's that. Team tank all the way!!!
  11. FLames are barley holding onto a playoff spot... Or are they 9th in conference? Anyway... I don't think the old school way works with these younger players.
  12. Remember the year we had Bure, Mogilny, Linden, and Messier?... I think it was 96-97? We were supposed to destroy the league and win da cup!!!!! Most disappointing season in my memory. This year... A close second. At least we have some great young players. Back then all we had was a young Naslund, whom hadn't broken out yet. Maybe we might finally fully rebuild. I knew in order for this team to compete this year, they'd have to have had Demko playing in top form.
  13. Hawks going into half time with the lead. No pressure on them... All the pressure in rookie QB. Carroll is known as a second half adjustments coach... This is looking good for Hawks. Going to make a exciting second half!
  14. The isle are 9th in conference but 1 point out of 8th... Yes tight race indeed... Might just be the right time right place sort of trade. I agree, raty may be a steal in the long run. I really like Boeser but agree he seems to need or want a change. Both Barzal and Bailey would be a great fit for him as they are both pass first players and Barzal with his speed would open up alot of space for BB. Well you guys have me sold.... Let's go already lol!
  15. You make some fair points... Lammorillo is known to go with a more veteran line up, so I can see him seeing Boeser as a good fit. Their center depth isn't strong though and older after Barzal and Beauvillier is also a right winger, which they are in short supply in the first place. Not really fixing their problem, slight upgrade okay. Might work?
  16. Money out? Islanders are one of the teams close to the cap. It would have to be a equal money in money out deal. Plus ny would lose a promising future center... Which is the only high end center prospect they have with a chance to challenge for a roster spot anytime soon.... They'd need a center back, they're to weak down the middle to start with. If you're targeting the Islanders, JT for raty, pagau and a pick could work.
  17. He + Chytil then yes but the money in and out wouldn't work. Rangers are up against the cap as well. It's a big draw back working with teams with no cap. It's a high priority for the nucks to have more cap wiggle room, so it limits our trading partners dramatically.
  18. Ohhh yaaahhhh!!!! My boys are back together... Where they will grow in an environment that will support their development properly. Best move PA has made so far
  19. I'm sure it would be hard to get that 1st but even though the BJ's are lower in the standings and are in tough to make the playoffs, they have operated like they're all in... Just like us. So yah, they need to keep building or retooling like us with the hopes that they can start getting some traction. So giving up there 1st is the price to get Bo... Especially the fact that we're not get any cap relief out of the trade.
  20. Bump! As rumour has it that management wants roster players that are young in Horvat trade, I think this could be the team we do business with. Needs: center and right d. Out: Horvat Rathbone 4th (Rangers) In: Peeke Roslovic 1st Money is very close to equal as both teams are at the cap. Loads up our right d. Columbus would probably want Schenn... But I just can't let him go lol! Peeke is just coming into his game. Hitting, blocking shots, mobile and big at 6'3". Perfect for Hughes. Roslovic can slot into 3rd line center. Speed, skill, grit and not bad on the dot and not to old at 25. Both guys are cost compliant, which would open available money for Petey and Kuzmenko. (Will still!have to trade Boeser). Would prefer to have Sillinger over Roslovic as his upside is greater and younger but money wouldn't work.
  21. Been looking through some of the rumoured teams in the hunt for Horvat. And also the rumour that Nucks management wants younger NHL roster player(s) back in the trade... I just don't like a lot of the choices coming back that would be realistic. Eriksson Ek would be a perfect 3rd line center that can move up in case if injury.... But I don't see Minn doing that. Maybe Rangers handing over Chytil ++ he'd be a good young 3rd line center as well but that's about it. The Islanders won't give up Dobson, and Bolduc is the only other good prospect that might be ready to step into our d... But again unproven and a left shot. So no that doesn't work either. As I mentioned in previous post... My first choice would be Cozens... But like Dobson in NY, that's a non starter. I just hope management is looking at prospects and picks vs roster players... Otherwise I don't know if the return can be maximized.
  22. Was fantasizing getting Dylan Cozens from buffalo... That would fit your narrative of a bubble team... But we'd have to add in order to make that happen. Really buffalo would hang up if that was the ask.
