According to Hockey-Reference, since 1987, no NHL player has had more time on ice in a regular season game than Mattias Ohlund did on February 13, 1999, when he played 46:52 of the game. The game didn't even go into overtime. This was before I was a regular fan; does anyone know what caused such a dramatic amount of ice time?
