  1. I'd like to see what Rathbone can do in the NHL first. In case he can actually be a 40-point guy, I'd like to find that out before trading him.
  2. So I guess an unvaccinated player would be allowed to play in some games in Canadian rinks? It sounds like Rogers Arena is off limits though (unless I'm wrong and you don't need to be vaccinated to enter the arena), so that would limit him to only road games vs Canadian teams to avoid quarantine requirements, which would mostly just be games in Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton, assuming those rinks allow in unvaccinated players. Suffice it to say that it's unlikely that Green or Benning would want such an onerous arrangement.
  3. So assuming Hamonic never contracted COVID, he'd still have to miss many games due to quarantine requirements upon returning to Canada. It would almost be easier just to leave him in the States and play only road games there--but then he can't practice much with the team and it becomes difficult to see him as a part of the regular team.
  4. Good to know. Makes me think then that our hands are a bit tied. Couldn't terminate his contract then and he would just have to play within the restrictions of an unvaccinated player. Could he play games in the US while unvaccinated or is that not possible either?
  5. I don't really care about his vaccination decisions from a personal level, but on a business/team level, I would think that if he refuses to play based on vaccinations, that would be grounds for contract termination or suspension, no? Not sure what the NHLPA would say about that.

    Olli Juolevi | #48 | D

Feels like it. Juolevi wasn't bad, but he doesn't seem to be showing marked improvement. I know he requires waivers, but I struggle to see how Rathbone doesn't take his spot unless something happens to Rathbone or Juolevi majorly surprises in the remaining pre-season games. Juolevi may still make the team depending on the status of Hamonic and Hughes though.
  7. Jared Spurgeon comes to mind as maybe the best small one. He's the only really solid one I can think of. Stecher is pretty good, but he's not really on that higher level like Spurgeon is.
  8. Hughes has to learn to manage his own game without being baby sat if he wants to be star in this League.
  9. Yeah, I strongly suspect that Schenn or Hunt (I have no idea who plays which side) would be on that third pairing with Rathbone/Juolevi at all times. I doubt Green is willing to play two inexperienced kids on the same pairing.
  10. Great game boys! Mikey D ended up with a good game, especially in the third. Good game for OEL, Gadjovich, and Pearson. Rathbone looked good still and Garland was similar.
  11. Mikey D reminding me of a young John Garrett. *best read in a Don Taylor voice*
  12. Lockwood looking like Horvat with those hands wearing a 50-something number.
  13. Mikey's been fine so far tonight, but has had a few big rebounds to work on.
  14. Maybe it's just the mediocre Flames roster tonight, but Myers is looking pretty good to me in this game. I'd be interested to see how he'd handle Gaudreau or Tkachuk.
  15. Podkolzin looks fine so far, but I'm not overly impressed. Hoping he steps it up in future games. I think he's a bit hesitant.
  16. Am I the only one who dislikes the "Make some noise" moments? I'll make noise when I have a reason to make some noise thank you very much.
  17. Or he joins Doan as the only Coyote with his number retired, right in time for them to leave Arizona.
