  1. Tons of shot attempts though. They're trying to hit the net, but shots are missing a lot.
  2. Keep it going boys. I want to see you all at the top of the league in scoring.
  3. Indeed, my judgement will be reserved for the long-term. We'll see how he develops as the season goes on and into next year.
  4. I wonder if losing his comfy no.6 spot has urged him to work harder to earn it back. He has looked better than last season and already has 2 assists in 3 games, so his offense is clicking as well.
  5. Almost exactly--Demko has 42 career regular season games right now. At about 25 years old, Markstrom had 50 games and was serving as the starter in Utica. At 26, he became an NHL backup, so in that sense, Demko's a couple years ahead, though Marky was the Florida backup before he went back to the AHL in Vancouver.
  6. Hugely boosted by these last two games. He's been incredible, but I'm more keen on consistently strong netminding than the occasional dominant night. So far, he's reminiscent of the old Markstrom who had the same struggles. I'm hopeful that Demko will get more consistent as he enters his mid and late 20s.
  7. Would set the new Canuck record for points in a season by a defenseman if he had those totals in one season. As it stands, he might have to wait until his third year to have a legitimate crack at that record unless he goes off the rails with offense this year.
  8. I think most didn't really know who JT Miller was. The reaction happens before the evaluation sometimes I think.
  9. I think I predicted something around 56 points or something. It ended up being such a big deal for us.
  10. Big Mac doesn't have the ceiling, but he will likely thrive much more in a bottom six role than Virtanen, I think. Virtanen is already playing third line minutes, so it's not like we're losing a top six forward.
  11. You know it's bad when they start calling you by your first name.
  12. But does moving Motte up to the top six fix that problem?
  13. Possibly, but you could argue if it 'aint broke, don't fix it. He's playing very well with his 4th line teammates right now and the whole team's offense is clicking.
  14. Motte is on a hot streak and I do believe he's showing more of his offensive potential this year, but I don't think he's a top six guy based off 9 games to start the season. There might be a good case to move him up to the 3rd line in coming weeks though.
  15. Looked like Reilly dove out of the way more than anything,
  16. Still over a point-per-game! What a player.
  17. I expect both Petey and Hughes to sign 2- or 3-year bridge deals, given the state of the cap right now. Probably in the $6-$7M range depending on how the rest of this season goes.
  18. Horvat has 8 points in his last four games (4G, 4A) and is now tied for the league lead in points (more games though).
  19. Agreed. At a cheaper price, Sutter is a great piece for our team. Beagle has some nice attributes, but I think I'd like to move on from him.
