  1. If they did start the season in November, I'd actually prefer something like a 70-game season. They played 70-game seasons for almost 20 years from the late 40s to the late 60s, so it's definitely doable and 82 games in that stretch of time would be insane. This year might be shortened too if they want to "finish" it in the span of about 2 weeks.
  2. Just got billed for an automatically renewing year of SN Now+. When I asked if I could cancel, they simply told me they don't do refunds. So now I'm out $300 bucks. EDIT: They apparently have given me a refund now. We'll see if it goes through.

@Chickenspear How are you spending 125 dollars a month on a phone bill? That's ridiculous.

@Dazzle Was paying high rent, roommate bailed on me, money was tight. I fell behind a month as I said, my phone contract was $80/month.

@Chickenspear My bad. I missed the parts before.

  3. Hmm, maybe you're right. Now is my time to train and take that final step towards becoming a eSports legend!
  4. Gaming. But that said, I expect I'll be at work this week, since my job can't really be done from home.
  5. I'm biased, but I say yes; however, it's definitely not a landslide and is a close vote. Two of the greatest rookie defensemen of all-time, definitely of the last 25 years.
  6. It definitely makes the most sense they would use point %, in which case we would make it as the third seed in the Pacific, but as other have said, it's all quite up in the air right now.
  7. Even if Myers ends up as bad as Eriksson, his contract is a fair bit more easy to handle. It's one year shorter After July 1, 2020, his NMC becomes a modified NTC Eriksson had two NMC years and two full NTC years before getting a modified NTC Myers also has a less restrictive modified NTC than Eriksson's (Myers has a 10-team no-trade list) Myers does have signing bonuses, but not to the extent of Eriksson's contract, so it's not as bad to buy out
  8. 1. Cyclone Taylor Award (MVP) - Markstrom - Runner up (Miller) - My runner up here was Miller, but with our collapse after Markstrom was injured, it's become insanely clear how important he is to our team. 2. Fred J. Hume Award (Unsung hero) - Tanev - Runner up (Motte) - Motte is also a great choice, but I really feel Tanev knocked it out of the park this year and still doesn't always get the recognition he deserves. 3. Pavel Bure Award (Most exciting player) - Hughes - Runner Up (Miller) - Hughes is what we've never had in Vancouver, a dynamic puck-moving defenseman. He's instantly become one of the best defensemen in the league. 4. Babe Pratt Award (Best defenseman) - Hughes - Runner Up (Edler) - Edler's had another very strong season, but not as strong as last year's and with the addition of Hughes, I can't give this award to Edler. Hughes is unbelievable offensively and even pretty solid defensively. I'd give Edler the edge defensively, but Hughes beats him in offense by a country mile. Defense is about more than just defending your net, as proven by many of the Norris winners.
  9. Yeah, we definitely wouldn't be the only ones losing out. It really would be a lose-lose situation.
  10. I suspect they may do the 2005 lottery style, but I feel like a lottery with a lighter weighting would be a better choice, given that more than 3/4 of the season is already over.
  11. The NHL called off the 1919 Stanley Cup finals due to the Spanish Influenza, but that was only the last few games. If they called off the season now, that'd be a lot more significant. I would honestly be devastated, with our team finally in the running for a playoff spot.
  12. Wouldn't be the first time. The 1919 Stanley Cup finals were called off midway through the series due to the Spanish Flu.
  13. You're gonna have a pretty boring time with that even if we do miss. We're not going to be a bottom team, so the odds are extremely high we'll pick in the lotto spot we end up with.
  14. His offense doesn't seem to be there anymore, but I love the guy, so I'm happy to see him keep his job.
  15. Oh really? I didn't realize he was in full contact practice as well. That bodes much better for our playoff hopes. Marky would still be more essential, but Boes is a very valuable top 6 piece.
  16. Makar still has a higher points-per-game. I would agree that he should win the Calder, as Hughes has a stronger all-around game, but I think it's not likely a lock yet, because there are those that will focus more on points.
  17. My Hart Trophy Top 5 so far:

    1. MacKinnon

    2. Draisaitl

    3. Pastrnak

    4. Malkin

    5. Kucherov

A guy who is a huge minus player should never win the Heart.  It’s all Panarin or Pastrnak this year.

Panarin was up there for sure, but Zibenijad is pretty nuts too, so he has some help in NYR.

Also a caveat--I limited my finalists to teams that are currently in the playoffs.
