  1. This will not be cheap, unless Benning proves to be a wizard again. We are almost certainly losing something that will hurt.
  2. I would agree that Tanev is better, but I think value is drastically reduced for pending UFAs, to the point where Tanev isn't worth as much as Coleman IMO.
  3. More like Van offers: Demko for the 4OA20 NJD hangs up and doesn't even counter due to such an insultingly unrealistic offer.
  4. Anyone notice the insane difference between our home records and road records?

    Home: 19-7-3, .707 point %

    Road: 13-15-2, .467 point %

Wonder why there's such an extreme difference.

Are you trying to blame the road jersey's played at home this afternoon?

close to .500 on the road, thats not bad actually. I'm more concerned about the "game management" going on this year with the zebra's, not just with the Canucks but around the entire league. The ref's are way too involved this year.

  5. I feel he should 100% be shut down for the season at this point. Crosby recovered amazingly from his concussions, so that gives me faith that almost anyone can, but he needs time.
  6. I think if we did trade Demko, we would either trade or sign a stopgap for a couple of years until Dipietro was ready to take on an NHL backup role.
  7. I don't think another team will even take Myers with his contract. He's not a bad player, but as of now, not worth even close to $6M. I'd say he's playing at about $4M or so right now.
  8. He only changes titles when he's hammered.
  9. I don't think fines can be more than $5k as per the CBA.
  10. Kind of weird since it ended up being harmless, but at the same time, it could've been brutal had the skate hit Cernak differently. Not sure where to go with this one.
  11. Agreed, though it's worth noting that he could still be exposed with a NTC. It's the NMC we need to avoid.
  12. Brothers winning back-to-back Art Ross Trophies is unheard of.
  13. To be fair, he's living up to his contract now, so that point may be invalid now, but he was traded in exchange for Gudbranson because, at the time, both were overpaid at about the same price. Regardless, I suppose I need to realize that what he's doing now is worth what he's getting paid. Great career turnaround.
  14. Do you honestly believe Lucic would play just as well as Boeser on the first line? He couldn't even perform well enough with McDavid.
  15. Perfectly fine. He was the third string guy in Utica behind Dipietro and McIntyre.
  16. The thing is, that's pretty much the opposite of what the twins would want.
  17. I think it's wise to give Rooster some time to find his game back again, but there's no denying that he's not the same guy he was last year. Then again, he's not playing with Horvat neither, so that must have some effect.
  18. I think a goalie is fairly more likely, but not guaranteed. My takes on the guys you listed: Pearson: Too expensive, no one will want him Leivo: Might be a good choice, but not a certain thing yet (needs more long-term production) Myers: Too expensive Stecher: May be taken, but might also not be re-signed with Vancouver after this off season Roussel: Very possible Ferland: Might be too expensive given injury concerns I think some of those guys may be taken, but if I were Vegas, I'd take Demko/Markstrom over all of them.
  19. I assumed it was for throwing his stick into the stands. The slash was nothing more than the double minor he received. The refs handled it adequately on the ice. Ridiculous that it received more supplemental discipline.
  20. Eager to see if Draisaitl can carry the load himself.
  21. Dahlin isn't even 20 years old yet. When Quinn was Dahlin's age, he had a grand total of 5 NHL games. Dahlin's already got 128 games. I'm not saying Hughes isn't or won't be better, but I think it's far to soon to be making any clear judgements on that comparison yet.
