  1. So awesome. So excited for the Boeser family.
  2. With his 11th assist tonight, Tanev has 13 points in 45 games and the most points in a season he's had since way back in 2015-16, when he had 18 in 69 games.
  3. Tanev's such a smart player. Never just throws the puck away to nowhere.
  4. Petey was probably 5th on the list of guys I wanted at that position. Glad I wasn't doing the drafting.
  5. Rush's great complex music reaches so far out in the world. I'll be honest, I've never heard of Mr. Peart, but I've definitely heard of Rush and their style of music. You know the heart of so many of those crazy rhythms and time signatures had to be the drummer. Respect to one of the best who inspired so many.
  6. 2 inches of snow on my car this morning in Langley. I'm weird though and actually love snow. Not an ice fan though. The rain will really suck if it freezes over.
  7. I think it's of critical importance that defensemen make a concerted effort to block it. It's part of the reason I dislike the "chicken leg" block attempt--seems like a low percentage attempt that just screens your goalie.
  8. 100% worth it. They're so candid on their podcast.
  9. If Jake gets 40 points and that's what you're standing on, I wouldn't be surprised to see him hold out into the season (and if he was a UFA, we'd be kissing him goodbye), because 40 points with his physical play earns far far more than $2M. He's been improving each year and I think he's probably a pretty sure thing to at least remain relatively close in production year over year. That said, if he pushes 50 points, it's reasonable to say that such a big jump might not be sustainable and a bridge might be more reasonable.
  10. Kinda weird. I'm probably just old fashioned, but I miss the old jerseys where they all had some logo to represent their conference (I suppose now division).
  11. I might be sticking out here, but while I liked Fantenberg earlier this year, he's been looking pretty error-prone recently to me. I think our winning streak somewhat insulated his spot on our team, but I wouldn't mind seeing Benn being given a game or two, at the very least to send a message to Fantenberg, but maybe also to see if Benn's used his time off wisely.
  12. It depends on how you rank him really. A case could be made he's better than Dahlin, but there's also plausibly a case that Svechnikov might end up better.
  13. Good game to miss, evidently. We'll move on. It's one game. We're still 7-1 in the last 8 games.

    1. Shift-4

      Shift-4

      Canucks missed it too

  14. Unfortunately, I work till 6 and then have class til around 9, so I'll definitely miss the whole game.
  15. I'd rather he stay in his strong position of drafting. Play to his strengths.
  16. Yeah, these days I can usually upload them directly, but before CDC had a nice image uploading system, I would upload to a site like imgur and then link from there. That's an easy fix if you want that in the meantime.
  17. Kind of surprised, but I guess they are much worse than expected. Still, they have a lot of games in hand and I think they could still make the playoffs.
  18. That looks great on paper, but how are you gonna get rid of the three guys there with negative value? I notice you haven't removed any of our roster players to do so. The contracts can't just be "wished" away.
  19. I was looking at this about a week ago and noticed the same problem. Virtanen and Gaudette's big improvements are the main "problems". Don't get me wrong, it's a great problem to have, but I do think @Provost is on to something. Losing Tanev and replacing him with either Tryamkin (who I think is far less of a certain thing than some do) or Rafferty is a monstrous loss. Those two kids aren't in the same universe as Tanev right now. That said, it's plausible that Rafferty could replace Stecher, and I think he probably will, due to the aforementioned cap concerns. I think Tryamkin may not work out in the NHL, as I'm not sure his desire to make it work is strong enough.
  20. The first ever All-Star game was the Ace Bailey game in the mid-30s, but it wasn't an annual event until somewhere around the late 40s or early 50s I believe.
  21. Honestly, I generally shy away from making the best player my favourite, as I don't like picking the "obvious" one or the one that's the same as the majority, but I think it might be too hard here. Petey is such an incredible character guy.
