  1. Honestly, I counted Motte as the guy out given a fully healthy forward group, but now I'm thinking another guy would maybe sit out first, but picking who would be insanely tough. Regardless, it's probably a moot point as I doubt we'll have a fully healthy forward group at any point for the rest of the year.
  2. I actually think there are a lot of people who would be tempted to think Makar might be better. I'd be hesitant to go that far because Petey offers so much more than just offense though.
  3. Just gonna casually throw these suspiciously recently quiet ones out there: @guntrix @The 5th Line
  4. I love the competitive fire he showed at the WJC, but this strikes me as immature. Of course, we don't know the entire story, so maybe there's more to this than we know, but on the surface it isn't a great look for Andersson.
  5. Jake looks good, but let's not pretend he's even remotely close to what Bert was...yet. Bertuzzi was a one in a million player.
  6. On the contrary, Boeser's on pace for about 50 assists this year, which means he must be doing something right.
  7. I'm honestly so impressed by what this guy is doing in the AHL. I know he's a bit older at 24, but you'd think we gotta either give him a short look (a few games) this year if injuries hit hard or at least give him a real long look in the pre-season next year. Here's to hoping he's not the next Bobby Sanguinetti.
  8. Seems like Jake's worked on his passing and vision, which is monumental for his overall game. Dramatically increases his versatility and potential.
  9. Two main reasons I suppose: 1. I live nearby and my Dad watched them sometimes when I was a kid 2. The West Coast Express hooked me as a kid. I still remember going to bed before the end of a Canuck game and my mom telling me that Naslund ended up scoring 4 goals as she tucked me in. I slept well that night.
  10. I feel like we'll either fare surprisingly well and maybe even win or we'll be smashed into the ground and lose 6-1 or something.
  11. Way too speculative to merit any credibility imo.
  12. I think you mean complete contract termination. A buyout is almost worthless in terms of cap relief with Loui's bonus-laden contract.
  13. I think a better comparison would be if one preferred those players at market prices and additionally, the loss we would've taken performance-wise if we had chosen those guys over Myers. Myers costs a lot of money and most of those players would've been substantially cheaper, but a counterargument is that none of them are capably top 4 defenders, which Myers can usually be.
  14. I'm tired of needing to play our bottom pairing guys in top four minutes because Edler's gone. We're so lost without him.
  15. I didn't listen with sound, but from the visual, it really seemed like the guy was straight up bullying Loui. If so, then that's honestly terrible. Amazing how people can justify treating people like garbage because of something so petty as performance in hockey. It's like watching the guy on TV somehow makes people forget that he's a human with a life. He's a husband, a father, and a son, yet it seems like people are desperate to ridicule him as though he's subhuman or something. I have no problems with complaining about his play (he's been horrible this year), but to make personal attacks based on play always crosses the line IMO.
  16. Should make the Coyotes a legit contender, but will hurt them if they don't re-sign him. Sounds like they're giving up quite a bit.
  17. I get the feeling that Edler's absence is a factor here, causing Benn to play above his pay grade.
  18. Interestingly enough, my brother and I recently invested in MW2 on Steam to get the nostalgia bomb from our teen years. Amazing that 10 years after release, there's still a couple thousand people playing regularly.
  19. This year, we're 3-4 without him with 3.42 goals against per game. With him, we're 13-10-4 and 3.00 goals against per game. I'd be curious as to those same stats over the last 5 years or so, because it seems like every year when he goes down, we suffer.
  20. Very good point. It happens every year. Tanev going down is a big contributor too, though thankfully he's still around for now.
  21. I am very very hesitant to get on the "fire [anyone]" train, but I can't deny that our defense has been lousy for years. In the past, poor personnel was an excuse, but this team should be far better than it has been lately. Baumer's job should be on the line. I'd give Green another chance with a different defensive coach before letting him go.
  22. Nah, I think he just really likes the finer detail stats and seeing players move up the all-time list. I'm a big fan of it as well.
  23. I like Hall, but for a pending UFA, that feels like too much. If we could sign him, I'd rather wait until July 1 and get him for free then.
  24. I'm really excited that he's been improving each year, even if it's only been a gradual improvement. He's developing into quite the nice 3rd line piece right now and his goal-scoring still hits at 2nd line potential.
