  1. Since when is a comparison between forwards and defensemen reasonable? Comparing him to Stecher or Benn would be more reasonable. I liked his game last game too, but stop digging around for every possible opportunity to jab at Eriksson.
  2. He honestly deserves it. I'm still of the mind that given the right chance, he can score 20 goals and 45-50 points and won't at all be surprised if he scores at that rate with a new team. Unfortunately, it seems like we'll somehow have to add to get a team to take him though, given that he went through waivers unless injuries now make a team willing to give up a 6th round pick or something now.
  3. Listening to the first episode and I'm enjoying this way more than I thought I would. Great podcast so far.
  4. At this point, he definitely has negative value given his contract.
  5. This on top of the presently stark contrast in their numbers is starting to make me think Marky's the guy to protect. Markstrom: .918 save % Demko: .906 save % That said, my guess is that Benning plans to do a trade in order to make sure Seattle doesn't take Demko.
  6. A better Gudbranson with more injuries. Not a ton of value.
  7. As a conservative voter, I couldn't be happier. I've never been closer to voting for another party after his horrible campaign that was centred around "everybody else sucks lol" instead of promoting his own platform.
  8. Once Sutter is back, he'll go right back down I'm sure.
  9. My new favourite hockey movie:

  10. "He's a big guy" - Colby Armstrong, on 5'11" defenseman Cale Makar.
  11. Not really big news tbh. Most fans around here are already beginning to ballpark around $10M.
  12. I was just joking about the showing off, haha, that's not really my jam. The squat bar has always really hurt my shoulders/neck for some reason, so I prefer other exercises.
  13. I've started finally doing my due diligence and made leg day my #1 priority recently. I have a question--when showing off to all one's friends how strong one's legs now are by using the leg press, would one include only the plates on the leg press or does the structure on which the plates sit count as any weight (similar to how the bar is often counted when calculating bench press weight)?
  14. I'm almost getting the feeling Nill had some sort of personal vendetta against Montgomery. Maybe they had an argument and Nill lost it? Nothing else seems to make sense.
  15. Not sure. I haven't heard anything recently, so I assume he's still a bit away.
  16. Sure it'd be nice for me, but I imagine those being taxed would simply increase costs to the consumer to pay for the taxes, thus inducing inflation, so I think in the long run, it wouldn't change anything in terms of consumer wealth. It's just a roundabout way to devalue currency.
  17. I agree that he's below all those guys, but we will still need to scratch one more forward as a healthy scratch.
  18. Went with Hughes, but Miller was a close second. Gaudette would probably be my third option, since I had him in Utica for most of the year, which he's clearly too good for.
  19. Yikes there. My bad. I still don't think the majority wanted Hughes and think it was a close decision between Hughes, Bouchard, and Dobson, but it's closer than I thought.
  20. Being critical doesn't mean you don't support someone. I'm not sold on the criticisms against Boeser, but just because others are criticizing him, doesn't mean they aren't also supporting him. In the same way any good mentor would criticize a protege's mistakes, some fans can criticize a player's decisions/play without ceasing support.
  21. While many fans wanted Hughes, it's clear he was far from the consensus pick. Glass, Mittelstadt, and Vilardi were the three most desired if I recall by the majority. Sure looking back he was far better than all three, but I wouldn't go blasting the Province for touting what was, at the time, a reasonable opinion. EDIT: Mixing up Pettersson draft with Hughes draft, my bad.
  22. Insane what we're looking at with all players back. To think we might be scratching Leivo, a 41-point guy is nuts. We have amazing offensive depth. My two cents are that Schaller is the next guy out, but after that, I might actually consider Ferland before Leivo, depending on how Ferland plays until Motte is back. Alternatively, I might just rather keep Motte out until another injury hits.
  23. You're right actually. I will try to do this with the correct numbers some time.
