Before the season started, I predicted he would get 30 points in 76 games LOLLLLL
-
I think the most centre he could play is having Sutter take faceoffs and then switching to centre after the draw. With Sutsy and Beags in the lineup, I don't see how he plays centre. He has far more opportunities as a winger and could even find a place in the top six if he plays wing.

Amazingly, that's a nice and clean hit from Marchand.
-
Reminds me of Crosby losing the Calder to Ovechkin in 2006. Amazing that 102 points didn't win him the Calder, but Ovie was that good.
-
With his OT goal tonight, Miller has tied his 13 goals from last year (75 games), doing it in just 30 games this year. He's on pace for 85 points, which would demolish his previous best of 58 points.
-
Based on that last game, let's make an agreement to complain about Myers more often.

Mind want to change that to a Bcc if this keeps up. -

ROUS AGAIN! -
Yeah, he's been solid all-around, but I think people aren't noticing his lack of offense so far because his defense is okay and our team is playing alright. Right now though, it definitely looks like a pretty brutal contract.

He's on pace for 41 points this year and people are suggesting he should be scratched when our forward group is healthy. That's an embarrassment of riches. -

Wish we were wearing an actual 80s jersey for tonight--either the flying Vs or the Skate with the original colours. -
Four. You heard it here first.

NHL.com has your back: Note that this is since 2005-06 (though it might be 2007-08 since I'm not sure these were tracked before then) and with a minimum of 100 games played with the Canucks. "SAT For" his shot attempts for and SAT is the net of the for and against. EDIT: Upon further looking, I'm pretty sure it is since 2009-10, because Edler has exactly 664 games played since then, so I'll re-post my last table since 2009-10, but with other good info: Unfortunately NHL.com doesn't calculate for us what percentage of his shots actually hit the net, but luckily for you, you have your resident stats nerd, AJ to do it for you:
-
I'm not sure this supports or refutes the argument, but here are the stats of shooting percentage by Canucks defensemen since the lockout (2005-06) among defensemen with a minimum of 100 shots in that time period:

One Sutter is back (and especially if Sutts and Beagle ever both get back), I'd like to see Gaudette get an extended look on the 2nd line with Bo. He's producing at a 2nd line rate right now and I think he could excel in that role on the wing with Bo.

Bill Peters/Mike Babcock/Marc Crawford/ETC
-AJ- replied to Monty's topic in General Hockey Discussion
What could they do to convince you it was meaningful? It seems to me that no matter what they did, critics would claim ulterior motives, which of course do exists to some degree in all these situations, but it seems to me there's almost no credence given to the possibility of a meaningful, honest apology. -
Yeah I looked into it last year when he was injured. He's basically Chris Tanev, but more charismatic and a forward.
-
Not gonna lie, this has been going through my mind lately. I'm still holding my breath, as many players slow down later on in the year, but even hitting 50 points would be incredible.
-
I've seen a few of this guy's videos and I'm starting to really like his analysis. He did a great in-depth analysis on Hughes in one game. For those who don't like advanced stats and prefer the eye-test, videos like this are where the two meet in a beautiful combination:

VC joined a few months before me in May 2010, so he was a bit after. I do think avalanche was around back then, but he's not on CDC often as far as I can tell. Deb joined some time in 2008 and you can find her posts pretty early on in the thread.

I'm not saying Virtanen is the definite guy for the 2nd PP, but in Junior he was noted for not only his speed and hitting, but also his lethal wrist shot, which we haven't seen nearly as much of in the NHL. I'd like to see him work on his shot accuracy more to regain that from his younger days.

[Proposal] Trade Tanev for pick bring up Rafferty?
-AJ- replied to Throckmorton's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Sure I would, but even Tanev with 2 years left on his deal doesn't get you a 1st anymore. Even more, Tanev is a pending UFA, which means he's only a rental, dramatically lowering his value. At the TDL, I'd argue he's worth a late 2nd at best. -
[Proposal] Trade Tanev for pick bring up Rafferty?
-AJ- replied to Throckmorton's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Still, our record when Tanev is out is noticeably worse, and I'd rather have that record for 30 games a year than 82 games a year. -
[Proposal] Trade Tanev for pick bring up Rafferty?
-AJ- replied to Throckmorton's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Possibly, but if we don't re-sign him, who replaces him? No one we have right now is even remotely close to filling his role as well as he does.
