  1. I'd agree here. I think great times are ahead, but due to the core already in place, not the future prospects. Our prospect pool is solidly mediocre now that so many great players have graduated from it.
  2. 3-2 Shootout win, Canucks--The Canucks lost 3-2 in the shootout when Burr first returned to Vancouver vs the Sens, so it's only fair to return the favour. Canucks Over
  3. The two ghost penalties? I didn't see the second one (though others reported it shouldn't have been called) and the first one didn't even it Nurse. He sold the call and the refs bought it. Loui wasn't at fault for those two, the refs were.
  4. 2nd Period changes are really hard in comparison, but still, it's something to work on.
  5. I hate that commercial: "As huge hockey fans..." Translation: "We paid Rogers $5M for the rights to Safeway score and win and now we have to pretend we care about hockey"
  6. Loui still lookin' fine! Nice finish by Leivo! He's so underrated right now.
  7. Just started watching recently. Why is Marky playing? He's played well lately, but it's surprising to see him get two straight ones on a back-to-back.
  8. Older teams did it that way, but none since the 1967 expansion. The Bruins were the last team to do it in three separate years: Boston Bruins 1965-66 Gilles Marotte 3rd 1966-67 Bobby Orr 1st 1967-68 Derek Sanderson 1st
  9. No one will be winning 3+ Cups in a row anymore, but I'd agree that the modern version of the Dynasty is much like those teams showed, especially Chicago.
  10. Also worth noting what happened to both the Penguins and the Blackhawks shortly after that stretch of Calder finalists...
  11. Not to mention three finalists in three years. Now you've sent me on a mission to do some hockey research... Alright, results are in: Prior to the 1967 expansion teams had three Calder finalists in the space of three years (two in one year is allowed for this) a total of 9 times, with both Montreal and Toronto doing it three times each. Since the 1967 expansion, here are the occurrences of a team having three Calder finalists in three years :
  12. Pumped to see Rooster return. Not sure who comes out--it will become very very interesting if Loui has another fantastic game tonight.
  13. tbh... Avery's word means a lot less than others to me, so I'm a bit more hesitant to believe his story. Being a d***wad during your career will do that. That said, it's no secret Crow wasn't an easy-going coach, so this wouldn't really surprise me. The circumstances of this one also seem FAR less serious than the other ones. This honestly just feels like Avery trying to get in on the action and surf the wave back out of obscurity again.
  14. Just lay down in front of the net and a few pucks are bound to touch you at some point.
  15. BUT WAS HE A BCHL PRODIGY LIKE THE LEGEND IN THE MAKING, ALEX NEWHOOK??!??11
  16. Not as many as Bo. What a terrible captain we have.... /s
  17. Recalling this again. Leivo has maintained production close to this level: He's got 13 points in 27 games, which pro-rates to about 39 points over a full season--much more than I predicted from him. I feel he isn't getting his due, as while he's not scoring goals, his overall production is the highest it's ever been (excluding a short 13-game NHL stint in 2016-17).
  18. His last two games have been fantastic, but he wasn't great for his two games prior to that vs the Stars. Seems he's grasping for consistency right now. Overall, his season is still going well though, so I'm not concerned right now.
  19. Honestly, i'm not sure anything would make me happier than Loui magically finding his game all of a sudden and scoring 40 points to finish the season. Odds of it are slim, but I'm a sucker for a good underdog story and Loui is one heck of an underdog right now.
  20. It's like the good part of rap without the annoying part.
  21. I can't recall the last time I've ever seen two players carry a team on their backs so much before. McDavid and Draisaitl are truly an amazing combo. That said, a few of their complementary pieces shouldn't be underestimated either. Klefbom and Nugent-Hopkins don't often get their due and Oilers goaltending is pretty good right now too.
  22. Thanks, Joe. Those words mean a lot coming from you. Living on my own is going well so far. I do hope to get married, but first, I have to find a lovely woman who's interested in silly old me.
